Chapter 97: Chapter 89: The Next Time We Meet, I Will Kill You
In truth, Su Xing hadn’t gone far.
He hadn’t even left the hill.
He’d simply found a hidden corner to hole up in. His injuries were too severe for him to go far. He had to wait until they were fully healed before he could leave.
Su Xing leaned against a large boulder,
staring fixedly at the spot where he’d fought the man.
He heard the man let out a roar, then, clutching the Space High Priest’s corpse, the man crouched and shot away in an instant, vanishing from sight.
Seeing that the man had left without spotting him, Su Xing finally looked away and slowly breathed a sigh of relief.
The man’s power was terrifying. After just two punches, Su Xing had the distinct feeling he was no match for him.
The first punch shattered Su Xing’s Black Sword and left a massive crater in his chest, causing the sturdy muscle to cave in.
The second punch completely crippled his right hand. If he hadn’t fled so quickly, he suspected he’d have been finished off right then and there.
Su Xing sighed, then slowly lifted his blood-soaked clothing to reveal his muscular torso.
A fist-sized, dark purple bruise marred his chest, the entire area sunken in like a deep crater. The sight was horrifying.
Su Xing reached out and lightly touched the injury. A searing pain shot through him, causing his brow to furrow.
’"Those two punches were insane..."’
As he looked at his grievous injuries, the image of the man’s two overwhelmingly powerful punches surfaced in his mind.
Su Xing could feel that there was no technique to those punches—just pure, unadulterated power. In an instant, that power had crushed his every countermeasure before slamming directly into him.
Su Xing let his clothes fall back into place, leaned against the rock face, and closed his eyes.
A faint white energy began to coalesce, gradually enveloping him and mending his injuries bit by bit.
Once his injuries had almost completely healed, Su Xing slowly opened his eyes. His gaze fell upon the spot where the man had disappeared. A confident smile touched his lips as he murmured,
"Is that what it means to be Tier 5?"
"Next time we meet, I will kill you."
Su Xing stood up, shrugging off his blood-soaked black trench coat. He pulled off his hat as well and tossed them both aside.
The black trench coat and hat were now dyed crimson. After the frenzied slaughter, they felt unnaturally heavy, and wearing them was a strange, uncomfortable sensation.
Just as Su Xing was about to leave, Su Yu’s voice suddenly sounded in his ear, filled with worry.
"Bro, we’ve rounded up all the civilians connected to the Spiritual Sect for questioning. Are you okay?"
Su Xing pulled out his phone. He was suddenly grateful to see it had somehow survived the brutal fight completely unscathed. He unlocked the screen and typed,
"I’m fine. What could possibly happen to your big bro?"
The moment Su Xing sent the message, Su Yu swore at him for the first time.
"Bro, are you fucking crazy?!!!"
"Running off to the Spiritual Sect headquarters alone in the dead of night to stir up trouble! What if you’d been caught by a Vice Bishop, or someone even stronger?! What if something had happened to you?!"
Su Yu’s voice was more than just angry; it was the concern hidden beneath his fury that warmed Su Xing’s heart.
But this warmth was immediately destroyed by Su Yu’s relentless bombardment. Whether it was because Su Yu was truly furious this time, or because he figured he might as well get it all out of his system now that he’d started, he went on a tirade that lasted for over ten minutes before he finally fell silent.
Thankfully, the [Sound Transmission] Sequence was smart enough to automatically adjust the volume based on Su Yu’s emotional fluctuations, saving Su Xing’s eardrums from the verbal assault.
When Su Yu finally stopped, he realized his brother hadn’t said anything for a while. "Bro, why aren’t you saying anything?"
"..."
Su Xing sent back an ellipsis, then typed with a smile, "Yu, you sound a lot like Dad when you’re chewing someone out. Fierce, but gentle."
"What are you even talking about..."
Su Yu seemed completely stumped by his brother’s words, unsure of what to say. After a long pause, he continued, "Bro, why did you suddenly stir up so much trouble?"
"Do you have any idea how big of a mess you’ve made?"
"You killed over a thousand people! I wouldn’t even be saying this if they were all Spiritual Sect Sequencers, but you did it in fucking public!!!"
"The Organization may have announced the revival of Spiritual Qi, but that doesn’t mean you can just go on a killing spree like this!"
"The fallout from this is just too much! If the Organization hadn’t immediately clarified that everyone you killed was from the Spiritual Sect, there’s no telling what kind of panic it would have caused!"
Su Yu grew more and more agitated, and it sounded like he was about to start yelling again. Su Xing quickly typed a message:
"It wasn’t my fault. The Spiritual Sect came after me. I had no choice but to fight back."
Su Xing briefly explained the whole story—the cause, the events, the outcome—and even walked him through his thought process.
Su Yu was silent for a long moment, then suddenly let out a curse.
"Fuck! So the Spiritual Sect is just asking to be wiped out?!"
Su Yu never usually cursed, but tonight, with "fuck" this and "fucking" that, it was clear he was extremely worked up.
"Alright, this matter is over. Don’t you worry about the rest of it, Bro."
"But Bro... you said you managed to get away even after that Vice Bishop showed up. What do you think he’ll do now?"
"What will he do?"
Su Xing chuckled lightly, then typed:
"I don’t give a damn what he does. I just hope that the next time he runs into me, he has the good sense not to get himself killed by my hand."
"..."
"Okay, forget I asked."
"Bro, you must be tired. Head back to the Sword Hall and get some rest. We can talk about everything else when I get back."
"OK"
Su Xing replied with "OK" and headed out of the mountains. Once he reached a main road, he hailed a cab with his phone and headed for the Sword Hall.
...
「Dragon Heaven Building.」
The area had been completely sealed off with police tape.
The perimeter was swarming with police officers to keep onlookers out. Inside, several Tier 4 Sequencers from the Organization were present, led by none other than Li Yu.
His right hand rested on his chin,
As he gazed at the collapsed Dragon Heaven Building and the horrific scene within, even he couldn’t help but frown. He turned and asked,
"So, what’s your take? Why would this mysterious master suddenly show up and slaughter everyone here?"
