Chapter 55: Chapter 55: Brutal Slaughter

"Time’s running out. I’ll end you with a single strike."

The moment the words left his mouth, the Corpse Assistant Priest’s vision blurred. Five massive longswords materialized at Su Xing’s side, their cold glint aimed straight at him.

He swallowed hard, knowing deep down that this had to be the mysterious expert’s ultimate move.

"You’ve got a lot of nerve! I’m Tier Four!!!"

The Corpse Assistant Priest’s eyes narrowed as he roared furiously.

But for all his tough talk, his body betrayed him. He took several steps back, assuming a defensive stance, and watched Su Xing’s every move with extreme caution.

He was, in fact, Tier Four, but he’d been forcefully pushed to that level. Among Tier Fours, his power was unquestionably in the weakest bracket.

The reason he dared to act so recklessly against the mysterious expert was that the Spiritual Sect’s system still registered him as Tier Three. Even though he had killed seven or eight Tier Three Peak experts, there was a fundamental difference between Tier Three and Tier Four. That was why, even after discovering Su Xing was the mysterious expert, he still dared to attack him directly.

However,

he was discovering that Su Xing was far, far stronger than he had ever imagined.

’Such a weak Tier Four.’

Seeing the Corpse Assistant Priest’s all-out defensive posture, Su Xing chuckled lightly. With a wave of his right hand, the five longswords shot forward, merging into a single, thin white line that sliced toward the Corpse Assistant Priest.

VWOOM!

The hum of the blades erupted!

The five longswords moved with blinding speed, impossible to track with the naked eye. The Corpse Assistant Priest could only feel five successive passes before his body, as if being dismembered, developed crack after crack before completely falling apart.

He didn’t even have time to react.

His limbs, torso, and head scattered across the ground, rent asunder like the parts of a broken toy.

Black-red blood gushed out in all directions like a fountain. Anything it touched dissolved instantly, releasing plumes of acrid white smoke. The stench was overpowering.

Su Xing glanced at the Corpse Assistant Priest’s gruesome remains.

’He’s definitely as dead as they come.’

Su Xing waved his right hand, and the five longswords dissipated, dissolving into motes of white light that scattered throughout the alley.

"Bro, something seems to have happened outside the hospital. Are you okay?"

Suddenly, Su Yu’s voice sounded directly in Su Xing’s ear. Su Xing froze for a second, then immediately realized Su Yu was contacting him telepathically. ’The special organization must have detected the disturbance,’ he thought. ’They’ll be sending people to investigate soon. I really need to get out of here.’

Su Xing took out his phone,

intending to let his little brother know he was safe.

A sudden whoosh cut through the air. Su Xing reacted instantly, sidestepping to dodge.

The jet of black blood splattered against the wall behind Su Xing, which immediately started to SIZZLE, releasing a cloud of foul-smelling white smoke.

"What the hell? He’s still not dead?"

Su Xing muttered in disbelief. ’He’s lost almost all his blood, and he was cut to pieces. How the hell can he still be alive?!’

The dismembered Corpse Assistant Priest slowly began to stir on the ground. Having lost most of its blood, the body was now completely shriveled. It had no hands, no feet, and no head. The torso could only inch its way over to the severed head, push it upright, and reattach it to its neck. freewebnøvel.com

Once its head was back in place, it seemed to turn mockingly toward Su Xing and said with a laugh:

"Heh... I almost forgot. I’m already dead."

"The price of obtaining the Tier Four sequence is to die once. I was already a dead man, so how could I possibly die again?"

The Corpse Assistant Priest’s grating voice once again echoed through the small alley.

Though his words were still arrogant, his eyes were filled with deep-seated fear. ’This mysterious expert... he’s just too ridiculously strong.’

It was true that his was a body of the dead.

No matter how much damage it sustained, his life would be unaffected.

However, that was only true so long as his corpse remained sufficiently intact. If Su Xing had been a little more ruthless just now and minced him into a paste, there would have been no way for him to revive.

He had originally thought that, as a Tier Four expert, being turned into paste was practically impossible. But Su Xing’s last strike had presented a genuine threat of death.

The Corpse Assistant Priest was already thinking of escape, but he couldn’t let Su Xing see that he’d lost his nerve. He had to act tough and make his opponent wary. Only then would he have a chance to flee.

"No matter how many times you kill me, I won’t die. I’ve lost nearly all my blood—did it affect me in the slightest?"

"I have obtained a truly immortal body! Even if you brought a Tier Five expert here, they’d be just as helpless! You killing me? That’s nothing but a daydream!"

The Corpse Assistant Priest forced himself to take a breath and spat viciously at Su Xing.

"Are you a goddamn cockroach or something?"

Su Xing’s brow furrowed in irritation. "So damn annoying. We’ll just have to see if you’re really immortal!"

The moment the words were out, Su Xing stepped forward with his right foot!

BANG!

The ground beneath his foot instantly shattered. Su Xing himself became a blur, an afterimage impossible to track, as he shot forward. A powerful gale preceded him, surging toward the Corpse Assistant Priest.

’Shit, it backfired!’

The Corpse Assistant Priest’s pupils contracted. Ignoring the arm he had yet to retrieve, he started hopping desperately on his one leg, trying to flee the alley.

But in the next second, a large hand appeared on his face, grabbing his entire head. It squeezed so hard that deep marks were gouged into his skull, nearly deforming it. And then...

An immense force erupted. The slam caused the air itself to detonate, as if a massive bomb had just gone off, sending a powerful shockwave blasting out in all directions.

Amidst the deafening blast, Su Xing, still gripping the Corpse Assistant Priest’s head, slammed it with incomparable, terrifying force straight into the nearby wall!

BOOM!

The Corpse Assistant Priest felt as if he’d been hit by a train. His head exploded, spraying a great volume of red and white fluids high into the air.

Su Xing instantly slashed out with the Black Sword in his right hand, and the toxic blood hanging in the air was instantly vaporized. He didn’t dare let any of that poison touch him.

’Wh-what’s going on?’

’Why can’t I speak?’

The Corpse Assistant Priest’s mind was a groggy mess. Su Xing had moved too fast; he didn’t understand what had just happened in that instant.

Just then, he felt his body being grabbed and slammed violently onto the ground. Before he could even register it, Su Xing was on top of him. With his sword in his right hand and his fist in his left, he began to rain down blow after blow!

BOOM! VWOOM! BOOM! VWOOM! BOOM! VWOOM!

Su Xing was like a butcher preparing meat. First, he’d slice off a piece of the Corpse Assistant Priest with his blade, then he would smash it with his left fist. He alternated between fist and sword again and again, making the very earth tremble violently.

The people outside the alley were terrified. They all stared in its direction, wanting to know what was happening, but not a single person dared to get closer. The commotion was simply too intense.

After more than a dozen punches and a dozen slashes, the Corpse Assistant Priest was completely unrecognizable, having been reduced to little more than a pile of bloody mush.

Only then did Su Xing, panting heavily, slowly get to his feet. It took him a long moment to come to his senses. He slowly relaxed his right hand, and the blood-drenched Black Sword dissolved into motes of black light.

"Hiss... Damn, that hurts."

Once Su Xing’s breathing had evened out, he noticed a large hole had been corroded into his left hand—he must have been splashed by the toxic blood while he was pummeling the Corpse Assistant Priest.

This made Su Xing shoot a look of even greater disgust at the pile of rotten flesh that was once the Corpse Assistant Priest. ’Enemies like this are the worst,’ he thought. ’They’re ridiculously hard to kill, the fight drags on forever, and they’ll still try to take a bite out of you when you’ve got them cornered.’

After confirming he couldn’t extract any energy from the dead Corpse Assistant Priest, Su Xing glanced at the sky, then turned and vaulted over a back wall to get out of the alley. Seeing no surveillance cameras nearby, he let out a sigh of relief.

"Finally, it’s over."
