Chapter 114: Chapter 106: Encirclement 2

Outside the building,

another Tier Five aura flared to life,

instantly colliding with the Angry Vice Bishop’s wave of power from across the distance!

The Angry Vice Bishop immediately took a step back, his brow furrowed as he thought,

’So the special organization came prepared.’

This clash was one of pure auras. Other than the two Tier Fives, no one else could perceive it, but the Angry Vice Bishop knew with absolute certainty that he had lost by half a move.

He was outmatched in presence by half a step.

In a real fight, his chances of victory were slim.

’I have to run!’

The thought flashed through his mind. The Angry Vice Bishop grabbed the Catastrophe High Priest’s arm and roared,

"Run!"

The Catastrophe High Priest didn’t hesitate for a second. He tore open a spatial rift and, using his "Spatial Items" Sequence, pulled the Angry Vice Bishop through with him, vanishing on the spot.

Their escape was so abrupt. One moment, the Catastrophe High Priest and the Angry Vice Bishop were posturing and making threats; the next, they dove into a spatial rift and vanished. The four people still leaning against the neighbor’s door were too stunned to react.

"Elder Li, what... what do we do now?"

Liu Ming was the quickest to react. He pressed a hand to his right ear and asked urgently.

"Head back and wait for news. You won’t be able to participate in what comes next."

Li Yu sighed.

He had spent so much time planning and preparing, devising countless strategies, but he’d never imagined the Vice Bishop would show up right in front of them, only to immediately grab the Catastrophe High Priest and flee for his life. It rendered his efforts in gathering so many Tier Four Sequencers almost completely pointless.

Fortunately...

This time, he had contacted a Tier Five Sequencer from the organization’s upper echelons.

The man had only recently retired,

and he wasn’t nearly as old as the other powerful Sequencers.

He had grown restless in the quiet days of retirement. That, combined with the status of Li Yu’s parents, meant that as soon as he heard Li Yu’s request, he agreed to come out of retirement and apprehend the Catastrophe High Priest and the Vice Bishop.

"What comes next... is a battle between Tier Fives."

...

「North Cang City, National Highway.」

"Hey, young man, what’s taking you to Ningshui City? Things aren’t so peaceful over there lately."

The driver gripped the steering wheel with his right hand, a cigarette dangling from his lips, his eyes fixed on Su Xing in the back seat via the rearview mirror.

Su Xing was familiar with the chatty nature of full-time drivers. He gazed out the window, watching the guardrails blur past, before smiling and replying,

"I’m just going to see someone."

"Not peaceful? What’s so unpeaceful about Ningshui City?"

A woman in the passenger seat chimed in after hearing the driver. "I’m on my way to Ningshui City to see my boyfriend."

She wore a light dress that revealed her smooth, black-stockinged thighs. Her face was perfectly made up, and at around twenty-five or twenty-six years old, she had a coquettish charm about her.

It looked like there would be fireworks tonight.

"Heh, it’s nothin’ too serious,"

"Ever since the Spiritual Qi resurgence, all kinds of rumors have been flying around. In our line of work, we’re on the road all day, so we naturally hear a bit more than most."

"Word is, a bunch of people have been disappearing without a trace in Ningshui City. They were eventually found in a chemical plant, their bodies so decomposed you couldn’t even tell they were human!"

"Ahh!"

The young woman shrieked at the driver’s story, her face contorting in fear.

The driver’s eyes kept darting to her stockings. He figured she was just fainthearted and was about to tease her further when he heard her stammer,

"L-Look... look ahead!!!"

"What?"

The driver paused, his gaze slowly shifting from the woman’s stockings to the road ahead. The moment he looked forward, the color drained from his face.

Two men were slowly walking toward them.

They were both burly men, well over six feet tall, dressed in shirts and jeans. They looked as if they had just finished a workout at the gym and showered before heading out.

But with every step they took,

the cars beside them came to an abrupt halt.

It was as if a car, speeding along, suddenly lost all inertia and momentum, stopping dead in its tracks.

It was an unbelievable sight!

One hot-headed driver yanked open his car door and stomped over to them, ready to give them a piece of his mind.

But before he could utter a word, one of the men grabbed his head and crushed it. Blood and brains erupted, splattering across the asphalt and nearby cars, triggering horrified screams from onlookers.

The man whose head had just been crushed was powerfully built himself, his bulging muscles straining the white tank top he wore.

A man of his build couldn’t have been light, yet the other man held him up with ease, as if he were holding a baby chick—effortlessly, almost casually.

His head was a deflated ruin,

and the man simply dragged the body along as he walked.

Blood trickled from the shattered skull, seeping between the man’s fingers and painting a crimson trail on the road.

This bloody and brutal scene made the drivers who hadn’t yet reached the two men scream in terror, desperately wrenching their steering wheels to get away from the bizarre and horrifying place.

In an instant, the entire highway erupted into chaos.

Countless cars tried to reverse at once, leading only to a chain reaction of collisions. The sounds of crunching metal, flipping cars, desperate screams, and hysterical sobs filled the air, turning the area into a veritable Hell on earth.

Fortunately, the driver of Su Xing’s car was more rational.

He didn’t immediately throw the car into reverse. Instead, he found a safe spot to pull over, avoiding the immediate pile-up.

Seeing the carnage, the woman in the passenger seat began to tremble. She felt her body temperature plummet to absolute zero as a bone-deep chill of terror enveloped her. Over and over, she prayed to be spared.

Su Xing sat in the back, his brow tightly furrowed.

He knew both men. They were old acquaintances: the Catastrophe High Priest, and the Vice Bishop who had once forced him back with just two punches—the Tier Five Sequencer.

The moment Su Xing’s gaze fell upon the two, the Angry Vice Bishop’s eyes locked onto him in turn. A savage smile spread across his lips.

"Didn’t expect to run into an unexpected prize on our way out."

He tossed the corpse aside like a bag of trash and strode toward Su Xing.

Seeing the monster of a man heading in their direction, many of the female drivers and passengers let out piercing screams.

A tall man, who clearly had some boxing experience, stepped forward to block the Angry Vice Bishop’s path and roared,

"This is the Cang City highway! Are you really going to commit a crime in broad daylight?!"

The man had barely finished speaking when the Angry Vice Bishop stopped. He shot the man an icy glare that made his hair stand on end. Just as the man was trying to psych himself up to say more, the Angry Vice Bishop struck, slapping a hand over his face and ripping downward.

RIIIP!

A sickening sound of tearing flesh filled the air.

A large swath of skin, along with chunks of flesh, was torn clean from the man’s skull. The unprecedented agony caused him to let out a bloodcurdling scream.

But the scream was cut short as the Angry Vice Bishop stuffed the flap of flesh he’d just torn off back into the man’s mouth, shoving it deep down his throat.

The man’s eyes bulged, bloodshot veins instantly covering them. The intense shock and physical agony caused him to collapse and pass out.

The gruesome, savage display sent the entire scene into a panic. Countless people threw open their car doors and ran for what they hoped was safety.

The driver and the female passenger in Su Xing’s car couldn’t take it anymore. The driver threw his door open and bolted. The woman’s legs felt like jelly; she managed to open her door and stumble a few steps before collapsing, screaming in terror as she watched the man’s slow approach.

Amidst the chaos,

only Su Xing remained seated, perfectly composed.
