Chapter 107: Chapter 100: Battle

Weak. Far too weak.

That was the only thought in Su Xing’s mind.

Six Tier Three zombies. For the Su Xing of today, crushing them was as easy as breathing. A single move sent all the zombies to the ground, leaving them at his mercy for the final slaughter.

The ground looked as if it had been savaged, littered everywhere with bloody chunks of flesh. Not a single zombie remained whole; Su Xing had chopped them all into a fine, gory paste.

The foul stench grew exceptionally thick, seeming to fill the entire storage room.

Su Xing frowned and immediately left.

「The rest of the way」

Su Xing encountered many more zombies,

but he killed them all without much effort. Some of them had even reached Tier Four.

This made Su Xing feel a little relieved. He was glad he had left Yu back at the clubhouse instead of bringing him along.

While these zombies were no match for Su Xing, they were still a significant threat to a Tier Three Sequencer, or even a Tier Four Sequencer who wasn’t skilled in close combat.

’If I had brought Yu with me, these zombies would have probably run us ragged.’

"Hm? Is this the end of the line?"

Smelling the increasingly putrid stench in the air, Su Xing paused his steps. His eyes stared straight ahead.

Not far in front of him was an iron door. Before it lay numerous bodies, scattered about haphazardly. They all showed signs of having struggled before death, but without exception, they had all been mercilessly killed.

Su Xing frowned, sensing the faint sequence energy on the corpses. He thought,

’These must be failed experiments in creating zombies. It seems his mastery of the "Zombie" sequence isn’t very high. He must have only just awakened it.’

With that thought, Su Xing strode toward the iron door.

As Su Xing drew near, the perpetually dim underground passage suddenly lit up with a CLICK.

This prompted an immediate reaction from Su Xing. He raised his sword before him, ready for battle.

But Su Xing waited for a long time, and aside from the lights turning on, nothing else happened. He finally let out a breath of relief, lowered the tip of his sword, and twisted the handle of the iron door, which opened with a harsh, grating CREAK.

Su Xing took a step inside and paused, making no sound.

At the same time, his concentration was at its peak. His five senses were pushed to their limits, scanning the surroundings for any potential danger like a human radar.

Su Xing was afraid the Catastrophe High Priest might be hiding somewhere, waiting to launch a surprise attack.

But after a long wait with no sign of danger, Su Xing finally brought his left foot inside. He moved forward, controlling his steps as he walked through the afterglow of the lights.

Soon, Su Xing reached another iron door and opened it.

Su Xing advanced relentlessly, opening one iron door after another. Soon, he had explored nearly the entire underground passage.

As he stood before the last iron door, just as he was about to turn the handle as before, his entire body suddenly froze.

His Martial Artist’s intuition allowed him to sense an aura behind the door—one that was almost identical in origin to his own. He also heard a violently thumping heart—THUMP-THUMP, THUMP-THUMP—and breathing that was suppressed to its absolute limit.

Lu Anning?

The name leaped into Su Xing’s mind.

Without a second thought, Su Xing grabbed the handle, twisted, and pulled the door open. The moment it opened, a streak of white light shot out, slashing instantly toward his body!

BANG!

The white streak struck Su Xing’s body and burst apart as if it had hit a steel plate, dissolving into tiny motes of white light.

But the person who had launched the attack seemed unwilling to accept that their sneak attack had been completely ineffective. Gripping a chair leg, they lunged straight at Su Xing.

BUZZ!

A sword hum suddenly rang out. Lu Anning thrust with the chair leg, her face pale. Her long hair was disheveled and draped over her shoulders, but her eyes were filled with determination and resolve.

THUD!

In the darkness, Lu Anning couldn’t see the person in front of her at all, but she could feel the chair leg in her hand being caught as if by a vise.

She yanked it several times, but the chair leg didn’t budge an inch. The vast difference in their strength sent a wave of despair through her.

"Trying to hit your own coach already?"

Hearing that voice, Lu Anning froze. Then, the figure of Coach Su gradually became clear in the darkness, though he was wearing a rather strange mask.

She immediately let go of the chair leg, hurried to Su Xing’s side, and said in a low voice, "Coach Su... that man’s target is you. You have to get out of here!"

"A man who could zip around was here just now. He was taken down by that man in just a few moves. He’s too strong."

Although Lu Anning’s words were a bit frantic, Su Xing understood what she meant. He narrowed his eyes and thought,

’Liu Chang has already been defeated?’

But the thought only lingered in his mind for a moment before he dismissed it. He then asked,

"Why did you attack me here?"

From Su Xing’s understanding, since Lu Anning had chosen to lie low, she wouldn’t have attacked so rashly.

But now, he had just opened a door, and Lu Anning had immediately struck out. This meant her thinking must have changed during her captivity.

Hearing this, Lu Anning hesitated for a moment before saying,

"Um... when I was captured, I didn’t know what was going on, so I thought I’d wait and see."

"But after talking to him a bit, I realized his target was actually you, Coach Su, and that he’s incredibly powerful. So I didn’t want to be a burden anymore and thought I’d try to sneak away on my own."

"Anyway, he’s gone after that man who was zipping around. We should get the others and leave quickly."

Lu Anning spoke with a sense of urgency,

but Su Xing more or less understood the situation.

The gist was that Lu Anning had been trying to escape and ran into him. She must have thought the Catastrophe High Priest had discovered her plan, which was why she attacked without hesitation.

But Su Xing just said calmly,

"There’s no need. I came here specifically for him."

"But..."

Lu Anning was at a loss for words.

But Su Xing still had no intention of leaving. He was well aware of the principle that an enemy in the shadows is more dangerous than one in the open.

If he retreated this time, he would still be exposed. The Spiritual Sect would just find other ways to come after him. It was better to seize this chance, now that both sides were out in the open, and take the enemy down for good.

’It’ll make things quieter in the future.’

"Where are the others?"

Su Xing asked. He remembered that quite a few high school girls had been kidnapped.

Seeing Su Xing’s calm expression, Lu Anning’s frantic heart began to settle. She took a deep breath and led Su Xing to where she had been held.

There were a dozen or so girls here. They were just ordinary high school students, now fast asleep from exhaustion and fear.

Su Xing glanced at them, and just as he was about to say something to Lu Anning,

SWISH!

A spatial ripple suddenly flashed outside the window!

Su Xing’s eyes narrowed. Without a word, his Black Sword slashed directly at the window!

BOOM!

Like a roaring gale, Su Xing’s sword strike instantly shattered the entire window with a deafening explosion!

Many of the high school girls were jolted awake by the blast. The first thing they saw upon waking was the wall around the window collapsing, followed by a Black Shadow darting outside at extreme speed. Many of them blinked and let out a collective gasp.

Su Xing vaulted out,

and the Sparrow Sword materialized!

BUZZ!

The Sparrow Sword tore a white line through the night, accompanied by the sound of cracking air, as it shot straight for the Black Shadow!

The next moment, Su Xing’s brows knitted together, a flicker of unprecedented seriousness in his eyes.

Just as the Sparrow Sword was about to pierce the Black Shadow, a giant hand suddenly appeared from the shadow’s back and grabbed it.

The Sparrow Sword struggled in the massive hand for only a few seconds before it was instantly snapped in two!

’This is... Sequence: Thousand Changes?’

Su Xing immediately recognized the aura of this transformative sequence energy. At the same time, the Sparrow Sword materialized by his side once again, as if what just happened had never occurred.

"Be careful,"

Lu Anning said from inside, having clearly seen Coach Su’s Sparrow Sword get broken.

She had watched several of Coach Su’s fights, but this was the first time she had ever seen him at a disadvantage. Her palms began to sweat as she prayed silently,

"God, Buddha, Jesus, Jade Emperor, please protect Coach Su."

Su Xing, of course, couldn’t hear Lu Anning’s prayers. He just wanted to confirm whether his suspicion was correct. The Sparrow Sword changed its trajectory and slashed at the figure once more!

CRACK!

This time, the Sparrow Sword aimed for the figure’s side, but it was still caught by that massive hand and crushed into dust. The sword didn’t even have a chance to struggle before it vanished completely.

This made Su Xing’s expression turn exceptionally grim.

Having witnessed his opponent’s level, Su Xing’s assessment of the threat level soared. He now considered this foe to be just a notch below a Tier Five Sequencer.

The man glanced back at Su Xing, flashing a few white teeth, then vanished. Su Xing followed the flow of his sequence energy and smashed his sword down toward the ground!

BOOM!

Su Xing’s sword strike gouged a massive crater in the ground, dropping him back into the underground passage.

BUZZ!

The moment he landed back in the passage, a foul stench washed over him.

At the same time, the figure reappeared in front of Su Xing. His thick, dark arm instantly transformed into a demonic claw emanating a purple-black aura, which swiped right at Su Xing’s face!

"Wearing a mask, playing all mysterious!"

As the vicious voice echoed, Su Xing finally got a clear look at his opponent’s face.

He was an ordinary-looking man in plain clothes, but his dark skin concealed muscles brimming with explosive power. His eyes blazed with murderous intent as he stared fixedly at Su Xing, exuding an intense pressure.

It was then that Su Xing immediately recognized him: the Catastrophe High Priest.

"GET LOST!!!"

With a roar, he thrust his sword forward!

BUZZ!

The demonic claw born from Catastrophe’s "Thousand Changes" seized the Black Sword, and cracks spiderwebbed across its surface. But in the next instant, his entire hand was sliced clean off by the blade.

Blood sprayed everywhere.

But the Black Sword’s assault didn’t stop. Su Xing roared in his heart,

"Mountain Breaker!!!"

BANG!

The Black Sword plunged directly into the Catastrophe High Priest’s body.

A terrifying power erupted!

The Catastrophe High Priest’s body looked as if it had been blown apart from the inside. Blood and viscera sprayed out as he was sent flying backward at a bizarre angle, smashing into a nearby wall. It was impossible to tell if he was dead or alive.
