Chapter 103: Chapter 96: Threat
"Minors aren’t allowed inside. You just wait here for me. I’ll be back."
In his experience, a place like this was bound to be full of things a kid shouldn’t see. Besides, he might end up killing someone. Even though his little brother was far from ordinary, as the older brother, he’d rather not let him witness such scenes.
With that, Su Xing didn’t wait for Su Yu’s reaction and headed straight into the club. On the way, he casually grabbed a sexy black mask and put it on.
Su Yu froze, wanting to follow, but when he thought of his big brother’s strength, he hesitated before pulling his foot back. He muttered to himself,
’If Big Bro doesn’t want me to go, then I guess I won’t.’
Even though it was nighttime, the club was still aglow with dim lights. Two burly men in suits stood like sentinels, guarding both sides of the stairs to the second floor.
As Su Xing made his way to the second-floor landing, one of the men in suits stretched out an arm to block his path.
"Sir, you can’t access the second floor without a VIP card."
This was arguably the most expensive club in Cang City. Rumor had it that its backers were incredibly powerful, with connections to both law enforcement and the criminal underworld. Naturally, its prices were astronomical. The clientele were all rich or powerful; there wasn’t an ordinary person in sight.
But Su Xing looked utterly ordinary, dressed in casual, everyday clothes. He wasn’t poor, but he was a far cry from wealthy. If the guards didn’t know that some tycoons liked to dress down, they would have thrown him out without a second thought.
"I’m a cop."
Su Xing stopped, his expression perfectly calm. "I’m here to apprehend someone."
The two men in suits exchanged a look. One of them repeated, "Sir, you can’t access the second floor without a VIP card."
The other guard, however, wasted no more words. He threw a punch straight at Su Xing’s face, roaring, "A cop in a damn fetish mask? My ass!" But how could Su Xing ever let two ordinary men get the better of him?
BAM!
Amid the resounding crash, Su Xing grabbed the first attacker by the collar and flung him. The huge man flew like a pebble, smashing heavily into the wall behind him and shattering it on impact.
The impact revealed two clients inside—a man and a woman.
The woman screamed at the sight, and the man jumped in fright. He stared at the hole in the wall with a bewildered expression, wanting to see what was happening outside, but the two of them just huddled in bed, neither daring to peek out.
The other guard was flabbergasted, never expecting such terrifying strength. He was about to launch his own attack, but Su Xing kicked his leg, snapping it. The man crashed to the floor, landing face-first, and was too dazed to get back up.
Both men had only passed out.
Su Xing hadn’t used any of his sword techniques and had held back his strength, so of course he hadn’t killed them.
Su Xing stepped over the rubble and saw several pretty waitresses standing in a doorway. Their eyes were wide with shock and fear as they stared at him. When he approached, they quickly bowed their heads.
"How may I help you, sir?" one of them asked.
"I don’t need anything. I’m just looking for someone. Please step aside."
Su Xing said calmly, looking at the terrified women.
Hearing this, the women realized they were in his way and scrambled to move aside. They kept their heads bowed, sneaking cautious glances at him.
Although he wore a mask, they could tell from his voice and the sliver of exposed skin that he couldn’t be very old.
After a moment, the quicker-witted women began to realize what he was. One thought to herself,
’Is this an Extraordinary Being?’
Su Xing knocked on his target’s door. A somewhat weary voice called out from within,
"Coming, coming! Don’t be in such a rush."
When the door opened, a large, fat-faced man asked in confusion,
"Where’s my gift?"
Then he glanced at Su Xing’s face, and his pupils suddenly widened. He burst into uncontrollable laughter.
The client had given him two options for this job: one was to grab the high school girl, and the other was to grab the man standing before him now.
He had decided the girl would be an easier target and went after her first, but he had studied the man’s photograph countless times.
So when this man appeared before him, even wearing a sexy mask, he recognized him instantly.
"I can’t believe my luck."
"I was thinking of just taking the one job and forgetting the other, but you just had to deliver yourself right to my doorstep!"
But before his laughter could even die down, Su Xing grabbed his head and slammed it toward the floor!
BAM! He felt his head hurtling toward the ground at incredible speed. In his perception, transparent ripples of force exploded outward from the point of impact.
He was certain of one thing:
The moment his head hit the floor, it would split open like a melon!
Immense terror instantly consumed him, and his eyes went blank and vacant. For a moment, he had no idea how he was going to get out of this alive.
One second, two seconds, three, four, five... He snapped back to his senses and realized he wasn’t dead.
His head was still clamped firmly in Su Xing’s hand, hovering just a centimeter from the floor. The close call made him wet his pants, and tears and snot streamed down his face as he hastily stammered,
"S-Sir! No, I mean, handsome! No, I mean, great hero...!"
"You didn’t kill me, so you must have a use for me, right? Just spare my life, and I’ll do anything you ask!"
"You’re a clever one, aren’t you?"
Su Xing praised him with a smile, then tightened his grip. The man’s head started ringing, and he quickly cried out,
"D-don’t... S-stop... any more and my head’s gonna pop."
"I ask, you answer."
"Why did you kidnap Lu Anning?"
"Lu Anning?"
The man paused for a second before realizing Su Xing meant the girl he’d kidnapped. A cold sweat broke out on his brow, and he quickly said,
"If I tell you the truth, will you let me go?"
"You’re not in a position to bargain with me. Talk!"
Su Xing’s tone grew harsher, and he tightened his grip again, plunging the man into excruciating pain. He flailed his arms and legs, wailing,
"I’ll talk... I’ll talk! A dark-skinned man hired us."
"He said he’d give us a huge sum of money afterward and told us to cover our tracks, to not be too obvious. That’s why we grabbed a bunch of similar-looking high school girls."
"As for the girls... my brothers had their fun with some of them, and the rest were sent to the client."
"Tch."
Hearing this, Su Xing frowned in disgust. "Where did you send them?"
"I... I don’t know. I don’t know where they were sent."
The words had barely left his mouth when Su Xing’s grip tightened again. Just as the man thought his head was about to burst, he screamed through his tears,
"I really don’t know where! I have his number... his number! He contacted me by phone!"
Su Xing hauled him to his feet by his head. The man’s legs had no strength left; he could only remain standing because of Su Xing’s grip.
The man’s face was covered in sweat, and Su Xing’s monstrous grip was making a trickle of blood run down his forehead. Su Xing narrowed his eyes and spoke in a low voice, like a devil’s whisper.
"Your phone. Give me the number."
Not daring to resist, the man frantically gestured for one of the women on the bed behind him to bring him the phone.
The half-naked woman inched forward, placed the phone on the ground without daring to even glance at Su Xing, and scurried back under the covers.
Su Xing had no interest in such an unseemly woman and didn’t spare her a glance. He simply picked up the phone, unlocked it, and said coldly,
"Read it."
"138... 661."
Su Xing dialed the number. The person on the other end picked up instantly, as if they’d been expecting the call. A cheerful voice came through the line.
"Is this the mysterious expert?"
