Chapter 543: Chapter 400: Du Huo’s Fury

"If this keeps up, does that mean none of our tribe will get into the Super Tribe this year?"

The Scorpion Captain knew this all too well. He’d been dreaming of entering the Super Tribe for ages.

But now, it looked like that damned witch was about to ruin their chance.

"The witch said we need to be more vicious next time. We have to beat those Yan Yan Tribe members down so they can’t get back up. Otherwise, if they just get pushed out of the ring like today, we’ll get the same result.

Moreover..."

A flicker of disgust crossed his eyes. The thought that he’d once quite liked that Lady Witch made him feel as sick as if he’d eaten shit.

"After the Yan Yan Tribe’s witch cozied up to the Messenger, she told the Super Tribe about the Fierce Beast Crystal Cores. The Super Tribe is very interested and might even make a trip to the Polar Forest.

If the Super Tribe contacts the tribes in the Polar Forest directly, or just conquers the place outright, we’ll be completely cut out of the Crystal Core supply."

As he finished speaking, his expression turned grim.

The Angry Beast shot to his feet. "So the witch didn’t say anything else? Are we just going to sit here and do nothing?"

The Scorpion Captain waved a hand. "Sit down."

He was filled with bitterness as well. "What can we do? A single Lord Witch from the Super Tribe could take us all down."

As soon as the words left his mouth, the tent fell into a dead silence.

The Angry Beast felt utterly suffocated. With a furious huff, he threw open the tent flap and stormed out.

The few Beastman Warriors who usually followed him also got up and went after him.

"Captain, that kid’s not going to do something stupid, is he?"

A tribe member asked, looking at the Beastman Captain.

But the captain shook his head. "His temper’s bad, but he knows what he should and shouldn’t do."

Just as the Beastman Captain had said, the Angry Beast, despite his foul mood, wasn’t actually going to do anything.

But as he walked through the Yan Yan Tribe’s territory, the arrogant looks on their faces made him want to grab them and shove their heads into a shit pit.

But he was on their turf now, so he couldn’t do a thing.

"So we really can’t do anything? If things keep going like today, no one from our tribe will get selected. What’s the point of even being in this competition? We came here for nothing."

One of the Beastman Warriors who had followed him out grumbled, his voice full of resentment.

The Angry Beast spat. "You think I don’t know that? But even the witch can’t do anything right now. What are we supposed to do?"

’What to do...’

Suddenly, as the fuming Angry Beast stomped forward, inspiration struck. A smirk played on his lips as an idea came to him.

His gaze, fixed on the stone houses in the distance, was incredibly smug.

’So they want Fierce Beast Crystal Cores, do they? Heh heh...’

He turned to the guys behind him. "You lot, go hunting and get some food ready. We’re heading straight back to the tribe tomorrow. This competition is pointless. We’d be better off going home for a good night’s sleep."

With that, he headed straight for his witch’s stone house.

The Worm Witch sat in his stone house, his face dark. He toyed with a small, fleshy grub in his hand, his heart seething with rage over the Messenger’s unfairness earlier that day.

But the thought of those four Wizards—all clearly more powerful than him—instantly doused the flames of his anger, leaving only wisps of black smoke.

"Witch, Du Huo is here. He says he has a favor to ask."

The Worm Witch’s lip twitched. ’Du Huo?’

He thought for a moment. ’Isn’t that the idiot Beastman left behind at the Snow Tiger Tribe?’

’The guy’s more trouble than he’s worth. What could he possibly want?’

"Let him in."

The Angry Beast, Du Huo, stood obediently outside the stone house. He looked at the structure before him, built from crudely stacked boulders. The gaps between the stones were so wide that anyone with good eyesight could peek inside.

He snorted inwardly. ’Compared to the ones in the Snow Tiger Tribe, this stone house is a complete embarrassment.’

But remembering why he was here, he quietly lowered his head.

"The witch says you can go in."

The Beastman Warrior who had announced him relayed the message.

Du Huo shot him a grateful glance before quickly lowering his head and entering respectfully. "Greetings, Witch."

After bowing respectfully, he stood there with his head obediently lowered.

"Rise. I hear you were looking for me. What is it?"

The Worm Witch was not in a good mood and didn’t want to waste a single word on pleasantries.

Du Huo stole a glance at his witch. He could tell he was in a foul mood, so he quickly got to the point. "I heard from the captain today that the Yan Yan Tribe’s witch already told the Super Tribe about our two tribes getting Crystal Cores from the Polar Forest."
