Chapter 527: Chapter 395: Aunt Flo Came for a Visit
Hearing the Snow Tiger Witch’s words, even the normally composed Flying Eagle Witch couldn’t help but gasp.
Five Crystal Cores sounded like a lot, but one look at all this salt made it seem more than worth it.
The Snow Tiger Witch chuckled and waved a hand. "Take a look. This salt is very pure. The salt from the Shuishan Tribe is much cleaner than the salt from those Sea Side Tribes."
The Lion Witch rubbed the salt in his hands, fervently hoping he could meet the legendary Shuishan Tribe again next year and trade for more of this precious, pure salt.
"Tiger, the three of us discussed it. Each tribe will offer one Crystal Core, fifty large Beast Skins, and we’ll also prepare some of our tribes’ unique foods and fruits to send over. As for the salt..."
The Black Wolf Witch glanced at the small, pale blue mountain of salt behind him, gritted his teeth, and said, "Could you give each of our tribes one Beast Skin Bag?"
After he finished speaking, the faces of the three witches flushed. It was because their offer was far less than what they would have to trade with the Sea Side Tribes.
The three of them secretly glanced at the expressionless Snow Tiger Witch, and their hearts sank.
’Their old friend’s expression wasn’t looking too good. Does he think we’re being too greedy?’
The Flying Eagle Witch nudged the Black Wolf Witch beside him. "Did we ask for too much?"
The Black Wolf Witch shot him a quick glance and whispered, "Isn’t trading all about haggling? Tiger definitely won’t give us that much."
The two witches instantly felt a little better, their gazes turning eagerly toward the Snow Tiger Witch as they waited for him to speak.
"This is our first time trading for salt with the Shuishan Tribe, so I won’t take advantage of you brothers.
You give me one Crystal Core, the Beast Skins, and the food, and I’ll give each of your tribes two baskets of salt."
’Huh?!’ They were starting to question reality. Not only did Tiger not reduce the amount, he actually offered them more?
What’s more, the three of them turned to look at the baskets, which were half as tall as a Beastman...
One of these baskets of salt was worth several of their Beast Skin Bags.
Like children from poor families, none of them had ever seen so much salt before. They were all in a bit of a daze.
It wasn’t until a Beastman from the Snow Tiger Tribe placed the baskets, now filled with salt, beside the three witches that they reached out and pinched their own thighs. "So this is really happening!"
The Snow Tiger Witch chuckled smugly. "Let me make this clear. Next time, if the Shuishan Tribe wants more, what you offer will have to change too."
Having received two baskets of salt, the three witches now found the Snow Tiger Witch’s wrinkled old face to be exceptionally handsome.
They burst out laughing, strode over, and slung their arms around his neck. "What more is there to say? Come on, let’s go! We’ll have the young’uns roast some meat for a feast."
The Snow Tiger Witch’s face darkened. "So when you’re all happy, I’m still the one who has to provide the food? Have the young’uns from your own tribes go hunt!"
The Beastman Warriors from the three tribes were already overjoyed about getting so much salt. Hearing what the Snow Tiger Witch said, they didn’t hesitate for a second, immediately taking off at a run toward the distant forest.
"Witch, leave the food to us!"
Before the witches could even react, all that was left before them was a cloud of kicked-up dust.
"Our witch loves wild boar meat!"
"Our witch likes to eat ox-beasts!"
"Our witch likes..."
The group of Beastmen chattered away as they ran, discussing their own witches’ favorite foods.
The Snow Tiger Witch, who only caught the trailing ends of their shouts, scowled. "I finally decided to be generous for once and traded so much salt to you all, so how come no one is wondering what I like to eat?"
That evening was another wild feast. With the Snow Tiger Tribe’s ample supply of seasonings, the roasted meat was so delicious it made people want to swallow their own tongues.
「The next day」
The three witches and the Beastmen from their tribes bid their farewells and departed.
"Tiger, once we’re back in our tribes, we’ll immediately have our Beastman Warriors bring the goods and food over."
"And next time the Shuishan Tribe comes, remember to notify us! We can all trade for salt together."
The Snow Tiger Witch looked at the three chattering old codgers in front of him, feeling utterly exasperated.
He waved a dismissive hand as he spoke, his tone matching his gesture. "I’m telling you, just head back already.
You fart, grind your teeth, and talk in your sleep. I haven’t gotten a single good night’s sleep since you all arrived."
The three witches glanced at each other, then stepped forward in unison to pat their old friend’s shoulder. "Old friend, you’d better build us a guest house soon. Next time, we really shouldn’t all stay in the same room.
The three of us are only guilty of one of those things at most. You, on the other hand, are guilty of all of them!"
