Chapter 2: No Reincarnation Slots Available

Darkness

That’s all that she could see, stretching throughout, with seemingly with no end in sight.

’Am I....dead?’ She thought, surprised that she could even think in a place like this. She was at least able to keep her consciousness, so it wasn’t a total loss. She tried looking at herself, but it was practically so dark she couldn’t see her hands, heck, she couldn’t even feel her hands, or her body at the moment.

’Is this really how it ends, no promotion, no love life?’

Was she a ghost?

She didn’t know.

Everything felt so cold.

’Great, guess mom and dad will have to deal with their daughter dying a virgin. Sorry guys, fate had other plans I suppose.’

Suddenly, a bright light flashed in front of her, almost blinding her.

"Damn, enough with the flashing lights." She cursed underneath her breath, shielding her eyes with her arm, recoiling from the intensity of the light.

After a few moments the light dimmed, enough for her to look at it without going blind.

Not that she could, but it definitely would feel that way.

In place of the bright light, a rectangular shaped screen floated in her vision, pulsing with an ethereal glow that felt foreign to her, but at the same time so familiar.

Where had she seen this kind of thing before?

’I’m not going crazy am I?’ She thought, her mind reeling as she stared at the screen.

’Is that what I think it is?’

[Ding! You Have Died]

The screen read, flashing in a bright intimidating red colour. Confirming what she already figured out not too long ago, after all, who the heck could survive a truck slamming into you at full speeds?

"Thanks genius, Its not like I had that figured out a while ago." She spoke, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

[Initiating Process Of Reincarnation.....]

Misha blinked, shock plastered all over her face. Before a nervous grin formed on her lips, a grin knowing all too well of what was going to happen next.

"Yup, this confirms it. I’m really getting reincarnated, just like all those manga and stories used to dictate." She said, a hysterical laugh escaping her lips as she ran her fingers through her hair. freeweɓnovel.cøm

"Didn’t think it would happen to me of all people, but I suppose I’m the demographic for these kinds of things. I was already working a shitty job, got hit by a truck, and am now getting reincarnated. This isn’t anything new, but hey I’m not complaining."

[Choosing Alternative....]

This message caught Misha by surprise, her eyes widening in shock.

"An alternative?" She muttered, her mind racing.

’Now this is a turn of events.’ She thought.

Normally protagonists in her position would be freaking out, complaining, or get excited by the thought of getting to live in another world. Many of them even get to meet goddesses and divine beings beyond human comprehension, and yet here she was with nothing but a floating screen in a dark void.

It was the equivalent of using a smartphone in a dark room, nothing too exciting, so she was rather unnaturally calm about the situation.

[Initiating Process Of Transmigration....]

[Available World Located: Alteria]

[Danger Level: Extreme]

"Transmigration? Alteria? And what do you mean this new world is going be extremely dangerous." Misha said, contemplating her situation.

’Transmigration means I get placed inside the body of another person right? Meaning I’m most likely start as some teenager or an early adult.

So at least I don’t have to become a child again, always made me uncomfortable how a lot of these protagonists could just cope so effortlessly about having to start over as a baby. Is it not uncomfortable?’

’And....its not gonna bother showing me who I’m going to be possessing...’ Misha sighed, running a hand through her hand. She just hoped it wouldn’t be someone in a rough spot, because if this world was gonna be dangerous then she needs to have as much early security as possible.

’Always planning for the future ahead, even now. I guess I can’t get rid of this nasty habit, even after I’ve died.’ She mused.

[Assigning Abilities For Necessary Survival....]

The screen before her suddenly expanded, growing much bigger in size before transforming into a circular shape, resembling that of a wheel of sorts, a bunch of words and symbols engraved onto it.

[Class Roll Wheel]

[This wheel will determine the class you will gain upon awakening in your next life. You will receive 3 chances, once all 3 are consumed your class will be locked and you will have no chance to ever change it in the future.]

[Remaining Chances: 3]

[Do You Wish To Roll Now?]

[Yes] [No]

Gambling?

’So this is what this wheel is, I guess its some sort of roulette.’ Misha thought, her gaze studying the available classes. They were abundant in number, with different colours emanating from each of em, ranging from white, to green, purple, pink, gold, and finally red.

Probably rarities of some kind. freёwebnovel.com

’This is bad...I have terrible luck, and my fate is directly tied to what class I’ll gain.’ Misha thought, her eyes returning back to the large roulette wheel. Her hand hovered near the [Yes] option for a moment, fingers twitching with anticipation.

’I have 3 chances, so I’m bound to get something decent even with my terrible luck. Right?’ Misha thought, though even she had doubts that she’d get anything of significance, a drop of sweat rolling down the side of her head.

With a soft press of her hand, the [Yes] option pulsated before triggering the roll in motion. The large roulette began to glow in a bright, ethereal light. The massive wheel beginning to stir, before rapidly gaining speed and spinning in a fierce blur of motion, the sight enough to give anyone watching amnesia and probably make them vomit.

’...’ Misha watched with bated breath, watching the wheel start to slow down, a series of slow ticks rolling over the classes, pulsing with each one as it finally settled on a class. The class pulsing a bright white before the system announced her reward.

[Ding! You Have Received a Common Class!]

[Blacksmith]

[Do you wish to accept?]

[Yes] or [No]

’....Shit....’
