Loraine glanced at her list of quests, two of the five being completed. A frown formed on her face as she realized what her next task was on the list, and she wasn’t looking forward to it.
"Dear god..." She didn’t want to imagine the horrors of what she might find in there, but she at least hoped that it would be neat and well kept. After all, it was a noble household, surely it can’t be that bad right?
’Cmon!’ Loraine smacked her cheeks with her hands, snapping herself back to focus on what she needed to do. Now was not the time for complaining, now was the time for strict action, and she was going to complete it at any cost necessary.
After all, her goal was to get stronger, even if these tasks were....unordinary. She stood up from the garden dirt, dusting herself off as she hadn’t even realized just how dirty she had made herself.
"It would be rather problematic to enter the mansion looking like this." Loraine reflected, after all a maid was supposed to be clean and proper, and she had to keep up that image at any cost.
’Now that I think about it, I do have a skill for this.’ She remembered, her eyes widening a bit as she thought back to her Class Skills. Loraine lifted her maid gown a off the ground a bit, analyzing the damage a bit more closely as she pondered how she was going to get all the dirt on her removed.
’[Clean] was an automatic skill, it activated whether I wanted it to or not. I don’t have a napkin or cloth on me to clean this mess, and I doubt they’ll let me in with how I look right now. So the best option for me is to use the [Cleanse] Skill.’
[Skill: Cleanse]
[Rank: Uncommon]
[Description: Uses magic to clean surfaces more effectively.]
"Alright, this will be my first time using this skill, lets hope it doesn’t end up in disaster." She muttered to herself, her tone carrying a bit of worry.
She drifted her hand downwards, the fingers sprawled out and hovering just inches away from the cloth of her maid uniform. Closing her eyes for maximum concentration, Loraine tried using the [Cleanse] Skill by calling its name out, but unlike with the system, this wasn’t exactly so straightforward.
"Shit..." She cursed under her breath, her eyes squinting harder while closed shut in frustration. She tried to focus harder, channeling all her mental strength into making this skill actually activate.
After a few attempts and frustrated grunts later, Loraine finally felt a strange sensation flowing through her hand. It was warm, searing like a gentle flame before blooming outward in a soft pulsating glow, the [Cleanse] Skill activating for the first time as Loraine watched in awe and amazement. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
In an instant, all the dirt and grime from her uniform was wiped in an instant, but as luck would have it, things didn’t always go smoothly, not with the overpowered Talent she had.
Just as a bright accomplished smile was about to form on her lips, the small ethereal glow in her palm exploded in a bright vanquishing light, the sheer brightness hitting her eyes like a flashbang as her entire body was covered by her own magic, the sudden implosion catching her off guard and nearly knocking her off her balance.
"You’ve got to be kidding me! Can’t I do anything without it ending in disaster?" Loraine yelled out, her voice full of anger and frustration. At first, she was excited about getting a overpowered Mythical ranked Talent, but now looking at it, it never benefited her like it did for all the countless protagonists she used to read about.
If anything, it was almost against her. And she didn’t like that.
"Sigh....on the bright side though, well...depending on how you look at it, my maid outfit looks clean...well, clean would be an understatement." She muttered to herself, glancing at her uniform with a stunned expression.
Her maid outfit that had been dirty, un-ironed, and somewhat old looked brand new. Heck, new couldn’t even begin to describe what her outfit looked like, it wasn’t just clean, it was ethereal. Every wrinkle, pore of dust, and age was completely wiped from her uniform, a sweet fragrant scent radiating from her body as she stood there in a daze for a moment.
’...’
’I really need to get my abilities under control.’ She sighed, her body slumping forward with the motion as she glanced around her surroundings, thankful that nobody was around to witness the sight.
With a new pep to her step, Loraine spun around and made her way inside the mansion once more, walking down the halls as she passed maids and other servants alike, the air inside a chilly, almost suffocating coffin of malice and resentment.
’I don’t really like how they’re looking at me, I gotta keep calm and ignore them the best I can.’ Loraine thought, trying her best not to pay attention to the sharp hatred filled gazes of her colleagues.
"That’s strange..." A maid muttered to herself, her voice soft and perplexed as she watched Loraine pass them, noticing her new uniform.
"I could’ve sworn I just saw her with her uniform outside a few moments ago, but if that’s the case then how come it looks so brand new?" She asked herself, her warm brown eyes watching the shameful maiden disappear behind a corner.
A small smile formed on her lips as she flicked her long chestnut hair back, a suspicious, but almost exciting feeling blooming in her chest. She didn’t know what it was, but something about Loraine just felt off, and she would be keeping an eye on her.
"What are you staring at Alice?" Another maid asked the brown haired maiden, noticing her staring at Atlas with a creepy smile on her face. freewebnøvel.coɱ
"Oh nothing, nothing, I’m just a bit...curious is all." She replied with a laugh, playing the situation off as if it wasn’t a big deal. Though inwardly, her mind was already cooking up plans, sweet, scandalous, and utterly vile things she had in store for the silver haired maiden.
’Just you wait Loraine Velmer, I’m not letting you off the hook so easy. None of us are.’ She said inwardly, making a silent promise as her eyes shone with malicious intent.
