Chapter 7: The Fabled Divine

[Ding! You have extracted the fragment of the divine and triggered a series of chain events.]

[Ding! You have absorbed the fragment of the divine. All initial stats are maxed out.]

[Ding! You have obtained a Divine Skill Fragment...]

[Ding! Divine Quest issued: "Trial of the Fallen God"

Trigger: After absorbing fragment]

The system’s messages flooded Amon’s vision, almost blinding him.

’This is...’ Amon fell speechless as he read through the influx of notifications.

His heart raced with excitement as he took in the information displayed before him.

After some time, he sucked in a deep breath and finally called out in his heart.

’System... Can you display my stats?’

Based on what Amon knew, the stats of an average man entering Nexus were 10. However, since his had been maxed out due to the divine fragment, he was curious to see just how much they had increased.

[Name: Weaver] [Level 3: (100/2000)]

[Class: ?]

[Talent: Prefix Extraction]

[Strength: 20]

[Physique: 20]

[Spirit: 20]

[Agility: 20]

[Attack Power: 80]

[Free Stat Points: 10]

[Lives: 10]

’Twen... twenty?’ Amon almost lost his composure instantly.

Even the top athletes who hadn’t taken any body enhancement potions capped at 15.

’So this is the true limit to one’s stats?’

Since he didn’t feel any changes in his body, Amon couldn’t help feeling as though it was a scam, but he didn’t think the system would do such a thing.

Besides that, he noticed he still had ten free attribute points to assign.

Didn’t that mean becoming overpowered from the start?

Pushing the thought aside after a moment of contemplation, he noticed a blinking icon containing the Divine Skill Fragment he had obtained.

’I wonder what a Divine Skill Fragment is,’ Amon mused internally as he clicked on the icon and shifted his attention toward the information.

[Divine Skill Fragment — Godslayer Fragment

Effect:

+100% damage to bosses, elites, and higher-ranked beings

Ignore level suppression]

’What?’ Amon gasped in amazement and shock, an incredulous expression appearing on his face.

A hundred percent damage to monsters meant his attack power would be doubled.

In essence, since his attack power was 80, if he encountered a monster with 160 health, he could simply activate the Divine Skill Fragment and instantly double his attack power.

’It says fragment. Does that mean there’s a complete set? Would it increase my power to 3x or even 4x after I get the complete set?’ Amon couldn’t help but mutter to himself thoughtfully before shifting his attention to the next thing on the list.

He had actually awakened a quest from absorbing the divine fragment.

[Quest: Enter Hidden Dungeon: Ruins of a Fallen God

Defeat:

100 Elite Monsters

10 Mini-Bosses

1 Sealed Boss: "Fallen God’s Remnant"]

[Negative effects during duration of stay within the dungeon:

Healing reduced by 90%

Potions disabled

Death = permanent stat loss.]

[Completion Reward:

Unlock Divine Class: Godslayer]

A frozen expression appeared on Amon’s face and lingered for a long while before a single word slipped from his mouth.

’Damnation.’

He reread the quest and began muttering internally.

’I already triggered a quest? And a divine one at that?’

Still, looking at the ridiculous number of monsters he had to kill, Amon knew it would be anything but easy to complete.

However, the allure of awakening a divine class spoke of prospects he simply couldn’t ignore.

’I’ve only heard of legendary classes. And it’s the president who awakened such a class. The grand celebration held in his name was immense...’ Amon muttered to himself, a faint glint passing through his eyes.

’If I can succeed in awakening a divine class... then curing my sister wouldn’t just be wishful thinking...’ Amon whispered, his eyes hardening with resolve.

He would do it.

No.

He had to.

For the sake of himself and his limitless future.

’And for my sister...’

Amon clenched his fist and finally calmed the storm in his heart.

At that moment, he noticed the negative effects, and his jaw couldn’t help tightening at the sight of them.

’Death? What happened to lives?’ fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

Normally, lives were the currency of the game. Whenever someone was killed, five lives would be consumed to resurrect them in the starter village. Although their stats would be halved, the penalty only lasted half a day.

However, if he died in the dungeon, he would lose a stat permanently.

Amon couldn’t bear such a loss, but he knew he would still take the risk.

’I just need to find out where the hidden dungeon, Ruins of a Fallen God, is and then I can begin my preparation.’

"Hey... uhh... hi?" frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

A pretty girl with chestnut hair and blue eyes suddenly popped into Amon’s view.

She looked like a doll brought to life, a cute yet awkward expression spread across her face.

Noticing Amon’s deep gaze on her, her nervousness increased ever so slightly.

"I—I’m Ava... Hi..." she said, then added after a pause, "I noticed you standing there for close to an hour. You were probably checking out the system, right? Do you have anywhere to go? Is this your first time here at the beginner village?"

She fired off a series of questions that caught Amon off guard.

"Huh?" He raised a brow before choosing his words carefully, his gaze lingering on her.

"My name is... Weaver. And yes, this is my first time here at the beginner village. I have nowhere to go for now."

He noticed she looked hesitant to say something and added in a friendly tone,

"You seem to have a suggestion..."

"Uhh... yess..." the doll-like lady replied with a smile. "I and a few friends were gathering a party to take a quest from one of the villagers. If you won’t mind, you can join us..."

"Alright," Amon simply replied.

"Huh? What?" Ava seemed stunned.

"I said alright."

She gave Amon a skeptical glance.

Normally, people would be cautious of scammers looking to take their loot and treasures, yet Amon didn’t seem to mind at all.

’He seems... unbothered? Is he that gullible? Or does his confidence stem from somewhere...’ Ava thought internally.

"Okay... uh... come with me," she said with a smile.

Amon quickly followed, anticipation stirring within him.

For a while now, he had been curious.

What exactly was his Prefix Extraction?

Perhaps it was finally time to try it out.
