Chapter 43: Chapter 43—Back in Battle
Laden watched as the Hyena pack leader, who appeared to be female, charged straight at him.
Extreme fury was slightly evident on the beast, making Laden wonder what position the beast he had just killed occupied.
It didn’t take long for him to figure it out, though, from the beast’s uniqueness and now the leader’s reaction to its death.
"Ohhh my, I just killed her child, and now she wants to kill me too," Laden thought.
If it was a normal beast charging at him right now, Laden might not be so flustered, but the beast’s Leader seemed to be much more than he could handle at the moment.
"I better run," Laden thought while he tried forcing himself to his feet.
But before Laden could stand to his feet and escape his current location, the Monkey Leader suddenly reappeared in front of the charging hyena leader.
It sent its arms crashing straight at the Hyena leader’s head with indomitable force. The Hyena leader instantly realized the lethality of the attack and had to stop its attack.
This gave Laden enough time to leave its line of sight as fast as possible and head to another area of the battlefield.
"How much time do we have, Prime?" Laden asked.
"Thanks to your quick thinking, we were able to end the fight very quickly; we have about five to seven minutes left," Prime responded.
Hearing Prime’s response, Laden looked down at his chest again to see his injuries had stopped bleeding despite being open and exposed.
The way he currently was, Laden’s combat armor and even the clothes that were under it were mostly destroyed, making him have a mostly tattered look.
"I think I can still fight," he said firmly.
As someone who valued his words very much and agreements, he had been saddled with the responsibility of helping these Monkeys in their battle, so he must do his best.
It might be argued that Laden had managed to take care of a major threat, and despite being true, he still hasn’t done his absolute best.
Forcing himself to get into a battle-ready stance, Laden scanned his surroundings to see if there were any beasts that needed his help.
He didn’t have to search for too long as his eyes finally caught sight of a Monkey that was currently being cornered by two other beasts.
Without hesitation, he charged straight at them, hoping to get there before anything lethal happened to the monkey. freewёbnoνel.com
Though he didn’t know what had caused this intergroupbattle, Laden still naturally leaned towards the monkey side. They had been a group that had been fairly ggoodto him since he had arrived.
Their core ideology of only respecting strength was also another that gave them a lot more rank to Laden.
"Do you think you can gang up on one monkey?" Laden shouted the instant he arrived at the site.
Using all the power he could muster, Laden sent a kick flying straight at one of the Hyenas’ stomachs. Unlike the last one Ladan fought, this beast’s skin was nowhere close to being as tough.
The target hadn’t had enough time to process Laden’s presence, so it couldn’t block any of his attacks at all.
The attack hit cleanly, and Laden Could feel the animal’s ribs cracking under the impact. Having taken out one of the beasts that had been previously ganging up on the Monkey, the golden monkey finally expressed its full power, and it quickly overpowered its opponent.
The Silver hyena’s were much tougher opponents in the mid to long range but when you get close to them, they become quite easy to take out.
Once laden realized that the monkey could handle itself now and there was no need for him to interfere anymore he resumed his search for a new target.
The chaos made it easy for Laden to spot a lot of things, and then a few seconds later he had found his next target.
A large silver hyena was chasing after a small golden monkey that was currently too weak to fight.
"Another one that needs my help," Laden said gently before he charged.
He had completely ignored the injury on his chest despite all the pain; he was so caught up in his whole act of saving as much Golden Monkey as possible that he started to ignore his own state.
His battle with the silver hyena was much more difficult than the one he just concluded as he couldn’t perform a sneak attack like he did before.
But despite the increase in difficulty, Laden was still able to defeat the beast without a single injury. From that beast he moved to the other battling, battling, and endless battles. fгeewebnovёl.com
"Prime, I can actively feel us going stronger," Laden said excitedly.
"Yes, yes, All of these battles have moved us even further in our accustomization. We are at about 20% plus right now," Prime said with Pride.
"You have been a good collaborator lately; I love all of the battles we have gone through lately."
"We are just making progress in our accustomization too; we are also making progress in your use of the Martial techniques we have learned.
"You were previously like the images in the training manual, but now you have a fluid pattern," Prime praised.
"20%—we have really made progress. I wonder how much my mates have made," Laden thought.
The short break was enough for Laden to catch his breath again, and soon he was back into the battle head-on.
The longer the battle drew on for, the more obvious it was to see who was absolutely going to win. With Laden’s help, they had managed to take care of most of the hyenas, leaving only a few that would soon be taken care of by the other monkeys.
Without needing his help. Furthermore, Laden finally got time to rest after how much he had run in a short period of time.
But he couldn’t sit for too long before the pained roar of the gorilla leader.
"Should I go join that battle?" Laden wondered as he tried weighing the gains and losses.
"I shouldn’t, but I can’t leave it to die,"
"Let’s go, Prime, let’s go fight the beast leader."
