Chapter 2: Moonlight Goddess

Ryven remained silent as he carefully listened to the voice in his ears.

He engraved every word into his mind.

From what the entity had said, it was clear that even in his past lives, he had suffered endless misfortune, dying tragically again and again.

At that realization, he felt a tide of emotions, most of it was anger.

Subconsciously, his fingers curled tightly into fists.

Closing his eyes, he declared in his heart.

Even if fate toys with me... Even if I am destined to suffer in every life.

From now on. I swear to myself that I won’t die tragically again.

Opening his eyes. His once empty golden-brown eyes, now radiated serenity and unwavering resolve.

Ryven raised his head, glancing at the power he had awakened.

There was a panel, but unlike the earlier black panel, that bore the mark of the Origin of Life, this one was entirely different.

This panel was golden in color, floating before him, at the very top was his name.

With this, he felt a faint sense of hope.

Reality resumed, and time began flowing once more.

He instantly clicked the golden panel, using the Primordial Ticket.

[Primordial Ticket has been used!!!]

[Gacha wheel ability is being activated!!!]

[Summoning...]

[Congratulations, Host has summoned a Divine-Tier Being – Moonlight Goddess!!!]

[A Goddess whose name cannot be perceived at the Host’s current level.]

Ryven’s heart raced in excitement.

But the excitement also quickly faded.

Suddenly in front of him, a bloodthirsty figure appeared, by the looks of it, it was ready to devour him at any moment.

Thankfully, it wasn’t the mysterious being that had completely erased the four-meter abomination earlier.

Instead, it was a massive wolf-like creature.

Its body was pitch black, its claws long and sharp. Though it did not resemble a complete wolf, its terrifying appearance alone made Ryven’s scalp tingle.

Just as it prepared to attack—

A blinding light descended.

The abomination couldn’t help but pause mid-motion.

What emerged from the light was an extremely dazzling woman, that looked incredibly ethereal.

She had long flowing purple hair, and glowing violet eyes, she also wore a violet dress that clung perfectly to her curvaceous figure. Her skin was pale as snow, and her hair was smooth as silk.

Her lower face however, was concealed beneath a thick purple veil mask.

With one glance, Ryven immediately noticed the domineering aura she exude.

Her mere presence created overwhelming pressure, causing the abomination in front of them to hesitate.

While the abomination was still stunned. The Goddess merely waved her hand gracefully.

A crescent-shaped blade made by moonlight shot forward, instantly splitting the creature cleanly in half.

[??? Had slain a First-Stage, Dark wolf!]

[Would you like to transfer the experience points to ??? Or take it all to yourself?]

Ryven exhaled in relief as the threat was easily eliminated. He then shifted his attention to the system’s notification.

After a moment’s consideration, he chose to transfer the experience points to her.

Ryven carefully observed the golden panel floating above her head.

He focused on the "Stats" option.

Immediately, her information appeared.

[Inventory]

Ryven was rather speechless at how strong her stats were. Comparing their stats was like comparing the difference of the heights, of a mud on the ground and the sky above.

Thinking about it, he couldn’t help but let out a soft sigh.

Rather than feeling a little discouraged, due to how weak his stats was, he shrugged it off and instead shifted his focus at the Arcane Points.

After a few speculations, he eventually figured out, what was the use of Arcane Points.

It could simply increase her attributes.

He tested it and it worked, it was able to increase her Mana.

[??? Mana increased +2]

The Goddess turned her exquisite neck, her penetrating gaze shifting at him.

She seemed to be considering whether he was responsible for the increase in her Mana.

She observed him silently, for a moment before opening her delicate lips to speak.

"Don’t you think you should at least introduce yourself, mortal?"

She asked, her tone was cold like that of a glacier, sending a chill down Ryven’s spine and leaving him unable to form a single coherent thought.

"Introduce myself?" He blinked.

The Goddess fell silent for a moment.

Noticing how slow he was, she decided to ignore him for now, otherwise, she might get irritated.

She shifted her gaze across the forest, which was covered in thick fog.

A slight frown appeared on her expression.

An unknown number of abominations were roaming nearby. Without her concealment ability, they would have already been swarmed by these abominations.

With her current strength, she had no confidence in defeating so many abominations at once.

Without warning, she pulled him close, lifted him onto her shoulder, and set off at once.

Ryven was taken aback but he did not resist.

The moment he made contact with her, he caught a faint scent from her body. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say it was rather intoxicating.

But given their situation, he had no improper thoughts.

Eventually, they reached a cave. The abominations strangely did not follow.

The fog here was thinner, and the sky above was clearer.

They settled near the cave entrance. Deeper inside was complete darkness, so they did not delve further.

Looking up at the sky, he only now realized it was grey, emitting very little light. Ryven understood that once night fell, it would be hard to see anything

The moment they finally rested, she suddenly spoke. Her chilling voice resounded, abruptly interrupting his thoughts.

"Can you at least introduce yourself now?"

He exhaled deeply, earlier his thoughts were in disarray, finally composing himself he replied properly.

"I’m Ryven Calestair. If you’re wondering how I summoned you..."

"It should be through my ability."

Upon hearing this, she simply sighed.

There were many mysterious things in this world, and someone possessing the ability to summon her so suddenly was just beyond her expectations.

After a few breaths, she quickly accepted her situation and muttered softly.

"Shadow Saint System..."

...

As she said those words, a few moments passed—but nothing happened.

Realizing there was no response, she seemed slightly flustered and repeated it louder. ƒгeewebnovёl.com

Still, there was no reply from her system.

Ryven gently raised his hand, asking for permission to speak.

She turned her gaze toward him, suspecting he might be the cause. She gestured for him to speak.

"I think, I’m the one who now controls your Shadow Saint System..." He said with a slight hesitation.

"I can check your stats anytime, and that increase in Mana and you leveling up were my doing."

The Goddess rested a hand on her chin, slowly regaining her composure.

"If that’s the case... Then I’ll have no choice but to rely on you."

"Mm," Ryven nodded.

"If you’re worried that I might control you with this authority over you..." Ryven paused for w brief moment and continued in a sincere tone.

"I reassure you, I won’t do anything that is not with your consent."

Although Ryven reassured her, she still didn’t fully trust him. Calmly, she responded in a domineering tone.

"I’m not worried. In fact, I could even threaten you. Without my help earlier, you would already be dead."

"Even if I’m bound to you, if you try to command me without my permission. I can simply let us both die."

Her domineering tone made Ryven realize it was a warning.

"I-I understand," There was a brief moment of silence before Ryven broke it.

"By the way, would you mind giving me your name?"

"Hmm... Just call me Samminah." She replied bluntly.

Ryven nodded quietly.

With nothing else to do, he decided to explore the entrance of the cave.

As he touched the cave wall, he brushed away dust, revealing strange symbols beneath.

"Hmm... Samminah, can you take a look at this?"

He muttered, continuing to wipe the dust.

Samminah turned her head, examining the symbols closely. Upon seeing them, she seemed to recall something. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

Slowly her expression turned serious. She furrowed her brows.

"We might need to leave this place immediately,"

Seeing her reaction, he was confused. The cave seemed safe from abominations, and the fog outside was thinner.

"Huh? Why—"

Suddenly, a shadowy figure emerged from the depths of the cave.

A sword swung toward Ryven’s neck.

But Samminah reacted instantly, pulling him away.

She studied the figure carefully. It had crimson eyes and silver armor, holding a longsword. It doesn’t seem that it has a body, inside the armor was only filled with nothing but pure darkness.

"A Black Guardian?"

Her thoughts raced as she quickly connected the symbols she had seen with the strange abomination before them.

After a few breaths, she reached a conclusion.

"So that’s it... To think we’d encounter an inheritance of an evil god—or perhaps an evil goddess."
