Chapter 1224: Chapter 478: S-Level Shu General Card_2
[Double-Stranded Sword - Passive]: Liu Bei gains an additional 2 entry slots.
[Where Are the Shu Generals - Passive]: Liu Bei selects 1 Shu general card to attack in his stead.
[Majestic Emperor - Passive]: When Liu Bei is present, ally Shu general cards gain +10 Attack Power.
([Seal]: This card grid cannot be traversed or occupied by cards.)
At first glance, this card seems overwhelmingly intimidating.
The long card face has a total of 7 entries.
But if you look closely, it’s actually not that bad.
Strictly speaking, it should be 6 entries.
Because while the [Double-Stranded Sword] increases the number of entry slots by 2, it occupies one of those slots itself.
But still, this card is strong.
And it’s purely numerical strength, not involving any tricks; it’s that kind of strong.
The newly added entry [Gathering Talent], is definitely a unique and top-notch entry.
Just by having it in the card deck, the score cap increases by +10.
Ree Shil, who has played many card games in the buffer zone, is well aware of what having 10 more points than the opponent means.
In some games, he has won against Divine Deities using these 10 points, which are crucial.
Then there’s [Majestic Emperor], which is simply a tag-based increase to attack strength.
For comparison, [Dragon Flag Master] also has a tag-based increase to attack but only by 5 points.
This shows you what a 10-point boost from [Liu Bei] can mean.
However, the Shu general card is a very niche tag, and Ree Shil thinks it’s unlikely that he will expand his card deck in this direction in the future.
But a 10-point Attack boost, not to mention anything else, would be absolutely delightful for Zack Yellow.
Now let’s take a look at his second brother.
[Guan Yu]
Breaking Force/Chasing the Wind, 50 points, S
Attack 50, 100/100, 0/4
[Cut Through - Passive]: When Guan Yu attacks a [Defense] target, damage +40→50
[Warm Alcohol - Passive]: During the first 3 turns after Guan Yu’s Reveal Card, Attack Power +10
[Red Hare - Passive]: Guan Yu is also considered a Wind Chaser Card
[Azure Dragon Crescent Blade - Passive]: Guan Yu’s attacks ignore [Defense]
[Riding Solo - 3 Energy Points]: Guan Yu attacks 1 target, if there are no other Breaking Force cards revealed on his side, deals an additional 20→30 points of damage
"Wow, that’s way too powerful."
Seeing the card face of this card, Ree Shil exclaimed in amazement.
There haven’t been major changes in the S-rank version of [Guan Yu].
It’s just transformed from a 40-point 40-attack card to a 50-point 50-attack one, with just one more entry added.
Other aspects remain unchanged.
But these two changes alone have multiplied its combat power several times over.
Why is that?
Because previously, [Guan Yu] had an additional attack against [Defense].
Attacking a [Defense] target gave him an extra 40 attack power, which essentially nullified [Defense] damage reduction, causing the damage to still be 40.
Now, with the base of that [Defense] specialized attack, ignore [Defense] has been added.
What does that mean?
It meant that previously, a 40 attack against a [Defense] target turned into an 80 attack, ultimately causing 40 damage.
Now, it’s a 40 attack against [Defense] that turns into 80 attack but ultimately causes 80 damage.
And then the base attack power is raised.
So it becomes a 50 attack against [Defense] that turns into 100 attack, ultimately dealing 100 damage.
Exactly 100 points, enough to instant-kill a normal 100-health card.
If the card has 10 points of damage reduction or an additional bonus to Health Points, it might not be killed instantly.
But a 10-point damage reduction, in front of [Warm Alcohol] or [Riding Solo], is equally futile.
So, facing S-rank [Guan Yu], [Defense] is akin to seeking death.
It’s better not to [Defend], and the damage taken would be much less.
However, card games are never about 1v1 battles. If you don’t [Defend], you’re likely to get focused and eliminated quickly by the opponent.
In this aspect, [Guan Yu] has a significant tactical value.
And it has a pretty good synergy with [Fear].
After all, [Fear] is just like telling you explicitly which card will [Defend] next turn.
And this [Fear] effect also happens to be Zhang Fei’s forte. freewēbnoveℓ.com
[Zhang Fei]
Wisdom, 40 points, S
Attack 40, 100/100, 6/6
[Crazy Momentum - Passive]: When Zhang Fei attacks, he automatically consumes 1 Energy Point and applies the [Fear]effect.
[Arrogant Wildness - Passive]: During the rounds when the [Fear]effect is in play, the damage received by Zhang Fei is reduced by 10.
[Crazy Anger - Passive]: When Zhang Fei’s energy is depleted, he automatically triggers the conversion of 15 Health Points to 1 Energy Point consumed.
[Trampling Snow Under Cloudy Skies - Passive]: Zhang Fei’s attacks on targets carry the [Collision]effect.
[Eight-foot-long snake spear - Passive]: Zhang Fei’s attacks include the [Penetration]effect, and this [Penetration]carries the attack effects as well.
([Collision]: The side with the lower score loses 10 Health Points.)
The changes to this card are not significant.
It removed the survival-oriented entry "I am the same" and added two new entries, with no other changes.
However, these two new entries are enough to make it worthy of the strength of an S-rank card.
It is a Wisdom Card that lacks active skills but will continue to consume energy.
[Crazy Anger]is almost equivalent to giving Zhang Fei the Berserker Card mechanism, with 15 Health Points for 1 Energy Point, which is still a fair trade.
Then the entry for the [Eight-foot-long snake spear], even the name is somewhat of a tongue twister.
Attack with [Penetration] is easy to understand; it’s the typical [Penetration]effect.
With one attack from [Zhang Fei], he can deal 40 points of damage to the target, as well as deal the same damage to adjacent cards directly behind the target.
The meaning of [Penetration]carrying attack effects is that it will also trigger [Fear]and [Collision].
This way, [Zhang Fei]becomes fierce.
He can control two at once, and it’s a very precious cross-row strong control.
[Collision]is a one-time assessment of two targets, making it easier to inflict damage.
Of course, if both cards opposite have higher scores than his, that’s quite miserable.
The S-rank versions of the Peach Garden brothers didn’t change too much, not to the extent of cards like [Kung Fu Sheep God]and [Flawless Galaxy], which seem like a different card altogether.
But [Cassius Hayes], his card face has almost entirely changed.
[Cassius Hayes]
Chasing the wind, 30 points, S
Attack 50, 100/100, 0/6
[Wandering Dragon - 2 Energy Points]: Cassius Hayes moves 1 grid in [Movement], and it doesn’t count as an Action.
[Ever-Victorious General - Passive]: For every target Cassius Hayes participates in killing, he gains a stackable 5 Attack Power.
[Unharmed Body - Passive]: When Cassius Hayes is at full Health Points, his Attack Power is increased by 20.
[Azure Dragon Crescent Blade - Passive]: The rounds Cassius Hayes [Moves], he can attack an additional adjacent target.
[Reflection of the Night’s Jade Lion - Passive]: Cassius Hayes’ attacks are upgraded to T0.5.
Firstly, [Wandering Dragon] became an active skill, but it does not occupy an Action.
It consumes 2 Energy Points, allowing consecutive actions 6 times when fully charged.
Because it spends 2 points to recover 1 point, equals the cost of 1 point.
Then he also possesses a very precious stacking attack entry, somewhat similar to [The Strongest Snail].
In a PVP Card Game, there aren’t that many kills to stack up, so its effect might not be too great.
Even if you go for a Summoning Style to stack his attack, you also have to consider survival issues.
Using it to counter the opponent’s Summoning Style is not very realistic either because it would be wasteful to frequently use an attack power of 30+ to clear minor cards.
For PVE, especially the kind of Card Games with multiple waves, it becomes very powerful.
For example, the Heaven’s Trial Card Game of [Other Shore Fairy King].
In the original 999 waves, [Cassius Hayes] would definitely obliterate anyone in the later stages.
[Unharmed Body] is an entry with a very high bonus.
When conditions are met, it directly turns him from a 30 attack card to a 50 attack.
Positioned in the backline when cards are revealed, he can often maintain this for many rounds.
If the A-rank [Cassius Hayes] is considered a card that balances movement, survival, and DPS, then the current S-rank version focuses all his enhancements on DPS.
The [Azure Dragon Crescent Blade] grants the chance of a second attack.
After completing one T0.5 attack, he can strike once more during the T3 move.
Just considering [Cassius Hayes]at full health, he can deal 100 points of DPS in one round.
This DPS capability is maxed out, not at all inferior to [Guan Yu].
And there is a complementary synergy between the two cards.
[Guan Yu]says, "If you [Defend], I’ll obliterate you."
[Cassius Hayes]says, "If you don’t [Defend], I’ll obliterate you."
If both cards enter play at the same time, they will certainly give the opponent a big headache.
It has to be said that there is indeed some hidden linkage or tactical synergy among the Shu-general cards.
