Chapter 506: Chapter 506: It Was You Who Hurt Them

Evelyn was resentful, "You knew?"

She was truly puzzled why James Lockwood could poison his own son.

"Don’t look at me with that kind of gaze." James Lockwood laughed deeply, "The one who worsened his condition wasn’t me, it was you."

"Me?" A flash of disbelief crossed Evelyn’s eyes.

"Caden’s headaches are caused by poison. The doctors all these years didn’t dare to treat him because the poison in his body is too intense. If they use medicine recklessly, it might cause a rejection reaction, and Caden might die instantly." James Lockwood’s tone narrated.

Pausing for a moment, he continued, "And the last time Caden got injured to save you, the medication used must have intensified the poison’s effects, so his headaches have become more severe."

Listening to James Lockwood’s explanation, Evelyn felt her legs go weak, nearly collapsing to the ground.

How could it be?

Was she truly the one who harmed Caden Lockwood?

"It’s merely a headache, it’s not life-threatening. There’s no need for you to act so sorrowful now." James Lockwood’s tone was indifferent, his brows exuding a lack of concern.

"How can you say such things!" Evelyn shouted, "Caden is your son, yet you’re treating him like this! You don’t deserve to be his father!"

James Lockwood’s gaze tightened, glaring at Evelyn, remaining silent.

The surrounding air grew colder and more menacing, trapping Evelyn like she had been thrown into an ice cellar.

"Speak up!" Evelyn clenched her fists, "What will it take for you to save him?"

"Saving him is also your responsibility." James Lockwood uttered a phrase full of deep meaning.

Evelyn’s face instantly turned pale, looking at James Lockwood, she asked, "What do you mean?"

"As long as you leave Caden, I’ll save him." James Lockwood locked eyes with Evelyn, "Once you leave him, divorce him, keep away from him and the Lockwood Family, I’ll cure his headaches."

"Impossible!" Evelyn trembled like a leaf, "Before I showed up, you had already poisoned Caden. Surely you have an unspeakable motive! Now, how could it be that you’ll save him only if I leave?"

"You’re always like this." James Lockwood shook his head, "Because you don’t believe that if you leave, Cecilia will find happiness, she has always lived in pain."

Pausing, James Lockwood continued, "Now, because you don’t believe that I’ll save Caden, you refuse to leave, worsening Caden’s headaches."

"Because you’re selfishly trying to stay, you’ve found yourself an excuse not to leave, yet you harm those around you." James Lockwood shook his head regretfully, "Without you, Cecilia wouldn’t face the agony of choice; without you, Caden’s pain wouldn’t increase."

James Lockwood’s words were like daggers, piercing Evelyn’s heart repeatedly.

She stood helplessly in place, her nose tingling, her eyes grew damp, looking at James Lockwood, hating why he pointed out the things she least wanted to confront.

Is it her?

Could all this truly end because of her?

"Evelyn." James Lockwood stood up, moved two steps closer to her, and said, "When real pain comes in the future, you’ll realize now that I’m making you leave, I’m absolutely saving you!"

"Really?" Evelyn’s face showed a helpless cold smile, "If I leave Caden, you’ll save him, and Cece can marry into The Keaton Family?"
