Chapter 498: Chapter 498: What the Heck! Pervert!

"Not feeling well? Why are you still sleeping?" Caden Lockwood asked with concern, "It’s time for dinner."

"A bit sleepy." Evelyn Morgan sat up, a joyful smile still lingering on her face, "I’ll get up now."

Caden sat down by the bed and pulled Evelyn into his arms, planting a soft kiss on her forehead.

"Bored at home?" Caden said gently, "Do you want to continue with the internship at the company?"

If Caden had brought this up two days earlier, Evelyn would have eagerly agreed.

But now, how could she focus on work?

Even just staying by Caden’s side filled her with guilt.

After all, if she left Caden, Cecilia Lynch and Julian Keaton might get together smoothly.

"I can rely on my husband for meals now, no need to worry about life. Let me enjoy a good summer vacation!" Evelyn grumbled with a smile, "Every summer or winter vacation before, I worked outside, it was so tiring!"

Listening to Evelyn’s complaints, Caden couldn’t help but laugh.

During the days before they knew each other, he had clearly asked Aunt May to give her enough pocket money.

It was she who insisted on not taking too much, and now she’s saying she’s tired?

However, hearing her in a playful tone, seeing how much she relied on him, Caden felt deeply satisfied inside.

Ruffling Evelyn’s forehead, Caden said with a gentle smile, "Fine! No working part-time or internships for you. Just relax at home and be a carefree lady, gain a few pounds."

"Gain weight?" Evelyn pouted, "I don’t want to get fat!"

"You must!" Caden ordered, "Just look at how thin you’ve become!"

Pausing, Caden glanced at the soft area on Evelyn’s chest, "It’s even gotten smaller."

Evelyn playfully punched Caden’s chest, "What! You rascal!"

Her cheeks flushed red, unable to face him, she quickly ran to the bathroom, shutting the door tightly, breathing heavily.

Watching the closed door, Caden’s smile faded gradually, a complex depth showing between his brows.

Earlier, despite her appearing lighthearted and joyful before him, Caden had clearly seen her eyes were red, she had surely cried.

Moreover, her bright, large eyes harbored inexpressible sadness and loneliness.

What happened to her?

His eyes caught sight of Evelyn’s phone on the floor, still lit up, and Caden walked over to pick it up.

The phone’s interface was on the call log page, showing that Evelyn had made a call to Logan Shaw just ten minutes ago, lasting four minutes.

Caden’s dark brows knitted tightly together, his face suddenly turning unpleasant.

Was it because of Logan... that Evelyn cried?

Caden gripped the phone tightly, stopping his thoughts from wandering further.

Evelyn had clearly explained that she merely misinterpreted her feelings for Logan, thinking of him as an older brother.

And that her subsequent confessions of liking Logan were just to provoke him.

Caden chose to trust her.

To believe Evelyn’s words as truth.

Yet, Caden couldn’t help but wonder: If Evelyn truly had no feelings for Logan, then why did she cry after receiving Logan’s call?
