Chapter 487: Chapter 487: The Two of Us Can Live with Him Together
Cecilia Lynch admitted, Hannah Clayton was right.
She loved Julian Keaton, but her love was too cheap.
She had always been doubting and denying, worried that her love would one day be rejected by Julian Keaton.
What would she do then?
"So, just go!" Hannah begged, "When Julian calms down, he’ll realize that marrying me is actually to his immense benefit with no harm. And marrying you is all harm with no benefit."
Cecilia Lynch’s legs weakened, and if she hadn’t held the door, she would have almost fallen to the ground.
Her whole body trembled slightly, and Cecilia’s face was pale without any color, her eyes filled with deep resentment and anger.
She wanted to refute, but in her throat was a boulder formed by helplessness, leaving her unable to speak a single word with confidence.
"I have a check for ten million here." Hannah handed the check to Cecilia, "Take it! If Julian forgets you after marrying me, I can accept you being his lover. But you can’t get pregnant for him, that way, it’s good for all of us."
Cecilia looked at Hannah in astonishment, unable to believe Hannah would make such a suggestion.
Hannah no longer wanted to speak, and simply threw the check into the house.
She looked deeply at the small house, both envying and despising it, then turned around and walked away.
Cecilia lowered her gaze, looking at the check lying on the ground, such a large amount, it seemed like trash.
Uncontrollably, tears fell, and Cecilia clutched her chest, it hurt so much.
"Can’t bear to leave, huh?" Suddenly Shannon Dunn’s voice sounded, "Are you hoping at this moment, you could pull out an even bigger check to throw back, telling Hannah not to delude herself with your man anymore? And then tell her confidently, you can also maintain Julian Keaton’s status as your man?"
Seeing Shannon, Cecilia quickly wiped away her tears and said warily, "What are you doing here?"
When working at The Lockwood Group, Cecilia knew Shannon Dunn and Evelyn Morgan were rivals in love.
Now, with Evelyn’s rival showing up here, Cecilia mostly knew the purpose of Shannon’s visit.
"You’re a smart girl." Shannon sat uninvited on the sofa, "I also feel sorry for you! After all, you and Julian Keaton truly love each other."
Cecilia gave a bitter smile; upon hearing the words "truly in love" now, she felt no warmth, only a sense of irony.
Love?
Does love have any meaning for someone like her?
It’s not love she’s lacking; what she lacks is a prominent family status.
With that status, she could have everything.
"Why don’t you choose the wide road laid out before you?" Shannon asked softly.
Cecilia looked at Shannon, suspecting that the "wide road" she mentioned might be what Mrs. Keaton meant when she told her to ruin Evelyn Morgan and Caden Lockwood’s marriage.
"Friendship between women is actually a very mysterious thing." Shannon’s tone was light and slow, "So many best friends fight over a good man or a good job; such emotions can’t withstand the test of human nature."
"Don’t try to sway me with these words," Cecilia replied coldly, "I would never betray Evelyn, stop dreaming!"
"Never?" Shannon raised an eyebrow, "Cecilia, if you want to be with Julian Keaton, there is no other path you can take. Can you really bear to leave Julian Keaton like this?"
