Chapter 466: Chapter 466: I Brought Your Daughter-in-law Home

Evelyn wanted to ask Yvonne why she jumped off the building, but the words got stuck in her throat again.

She knew that whenever Yvonne was mentioned, Caden’s mood would take a downturn.

Some things he didn’t want to talk about; she was persistent in questioning him, but it seemed a bit inappropriate.

She liked the current atmosphere and didn’t want to disrupt it.

"Don’t be too sad," Evelyn softly comforted him. "The dead can’t come back. You need to find peace and move on."

Listening to Evelyn’s words, Caden moved closer to her, held her hands tighter, and whispered, "Don’t think too much."

"I know," Evelyn nodded, "You said it wasn’t a romantic relationship with her. I just feel sorry because she was so young."

Caden’s grip on Evelyn’s hands trembled, and his gloomy expression looked as dark and unsightly as if ink had stained it.

Evelyn felt a bit anxious. As Caden became more reluctant to mention Yvonne, Evelyn’s curiosity about Yvonne grew.

In Caden’s embrace, the scene of seeing Yvonne that morning seemed to replay in her mind, appearing particularly eerie.

It’s impossible!

She must have been mistaken! It couldn’t have been Yvonne!

Suppressing the inappropriate panic in her heart, Evelyn repeatedly reminded herself that she must have been seeing things.

Yvonne was already dead. How could she have seen her?

Taking a deep breath, Evelyn lifted her eyes and gave Caden a gentle smile, offering him profound reassurance.

Currently, Julian was taking Cecilia home.

Although he had decided to marry Cecilia, he still hoped to gain his parents’ approval.

Julian knew that without his parents’ blessing, Cecilia wouldn’t be truly happy.

He didn’t want Cecilia to carry a heavy emotional burden after marrying him.

"Are you scared?" Julian held Cecilia’s hand, "You are about to face my unreasonable parents again."

"After all, they gave birth to you and raised you, providing such an advantageous life. How can you speak about them like that?" Cecilia complained.

"If they know how you’re speaking up for them, they’d be moved," Julian whispered. "It’s partly my fault for always complying, feeding their greed."

"Julian!" Cecilia protested, "I’ve told you before, don’t talk about your parents like that!"

Julian took a deep breath, gently teased Cecilia’s nose, and said softly, "Alright, alright, let’s go inside! Being late isn’t good either."

Cecilia nodded, looking at the Keaton Family’s door, her amber eyes shrinking nervously.

Although she appeared calm on the surface, her heart was already in turmoil.

Julian’s parents plainly didn’t like her. After meeting a few times in these past days, their attitude towards her remained cold and dismissive.

Holding Cecilia’s hand, Julian whispered gently in her ear, "Don’t be afraid, I’m by your side."

Cecilia gave a faint smile, and she and Julian walked towards The Keaton Family.

At this moment, Julian’s parents and Eleanor were sitting in the living room. When they saw Julian bring Cecilia home, none of them showed a pleasant expression.

"Dad, Mom," Julian spoke first, "I’ve brought your daughter-in-law, Cece, home."

Cecilia quickly greeted them, trying to show her politeness and sincerity.
