Chapter 464: Chapter 464: Uncle, You Can’t!

"Cece didn’t manage to buy a suitable tie," Evelyn said softly. "So, she didn’t buy anything."

Listening to Evelyn’s words, Caden Lockwood almost spat out blood.

Indeed!

The saying "birds of a feather flock together" is true!

Even though Cecilia Lynch thought about buying something for Julian Keaton, in the end, she didn’t buy anything at all.

How is this different from Evelyn not even thinking about it?

After all, the final result is the same — nothing was bought!

Caden clenched his fists, really wanting to knock on Evelyn’s forehead a few times.

This annoying woman!

Is he supposed to outright ask her to give him a gift?

Gifts one has to ask for aren’t satisfying at all!

Evelyn looked at Caden, not understanding why his expression suddenly changed.

However, if he’s in a bad mood, she should be able to cheer him up.

"Uncle," Evelyn put on a pretend gloomy face. "The two dollars I repay you every day, they were all thickly piled up in the drawer, but when I checked today, they were gone. Have you seen them?"

Caden’s eyebrows tightened, and he asked urgently, "Gone? How could that be?"

The money had Evelyn’s handwriting on each bill, and he’d often look at it when he was in a bad mood. How could it disappear?

Without thinking further, Caden strode forward, opened the drawer, and saw a delicate bookmark placed on the stack of money.

The bookmark was made of five rose petals, each one smaller than the last, encircling a flower’s stamen, resembling a rose blooming brightly.

Caden’s breath paused momentarily, and as he stared at the exquisitely crafted bookmark, the smile on his face grew deeper, and a gentle warmth flowed in his eyes.

Just as he was annoyed that Evelyn wouldn’t surprise him, she did!

And this surprise was so much better than if she’d gone to the mall to buy something!

Right now, Caden’s greatest urge was to call Julian Keaton and show off a little.

Julian would probably be furious!

"Actually, I could have made it even prettier!" Evelyn murmured, "But I just wanted to give it to you today. So, you’ll have to make do with it! I spent the whole day making it! It took quite a bit of effort! You better not lose it or..."

Before Evelyn could finish her sentence, Caden lifted her chin and pressed his lips against her soft ones.

Their lips touched, and although it was two mouths, it felt as if they were born to fit together perfectly, full of harmony.

Familiar with Caden’s kisses, Evelyn had no trace of unfamiliarity.

She lifted her head, accepting his kiss, her mouth filled with his scent, the taste of him permeating her breath, seeping through her nostrils and into every part of her being, as though he and she had become one.

The heated kiss gradually became more urgent and deep, and Caden’s hands began to wander, touching intimate parts of Evelyn’s body.

Evelyn shivered all over and quickly pushed Caden away, urging, "Uncle, no way!"

Caden took a deep breath and whispered again, "My love, there’s no escaping."

They were already married and had been intimate before; even though he hadn’t given her a beautiful night and had made her scared, they were in special circumstances back then, weren’t they?

With Caden’s dominant gaze upon her, Evelyn’s face turned frightened and pale.

She knew she already belonged to Caden Lockwood, had genuinely decided to be his wife, and certain interactions between them would happen once, twice, three times, countless times.
