Because the meal lasted for a long time until it was pretty late, Penny, with her unknown thoughts insisted that the couple sleep over. It would take hours for them to get back home which wasn’t safe.
Gracelynn, eager to keep Diamond for longer, also clamored for the couple to sleep over. As a result, Diamond who couldn’t say no to the little girl agreed. It wasn’t bad to stay at the estate for another night.
Gracelynn was very happy, and successfully managed to steal Diamond from Gael for an hour or so. Diamond accompanied the little girl, learnt how to wash the little girl with Penny overseeing.
Penny was also dedicated and taught Diamond as much as she knew, while saying, "this will be useful once you have your own child. As a mother, you should know how to care for your child."
Diamond nodded in agreement. Which is why she learnt seriously, while thinking to herself that she might as well a children’s program on the list. She can start learning alongside others about pregnancy, children and the likes before reaching that stage. When she finally experiences it, she will be having some experience.
After washing up, Diamond told the little girl her favorite story of princess Isfrid. Her voice was very soothing. It wasn’t long until Gracelynn failed to fight off her drowsiness and fell asleep fast.
Once she was put to bed, it was time to part for the night. Diamond finally reunited with Gael, whim she found busy on the phone, chatting with his sister.
"Have you already taken a shower?"
Gael raised his head as he locked the screen and shook his head. "Nope, I was waiting for you," flashing a cunning smile at her.
Diamond snorted at him, but still responded, "Good. It’s been a long day. Let’s shower quickly and rest," urging him to follow along.
Geal grinned shamelessly and hurriedly followed to her to the bathroom. Not sure what kind of shower they were taking, but the couple indeed spent over an hour there.
By the time they came out, they were both flushing, and glowing. It was as if they had been rejuvenated. What kind of miraculous shower was that?
Lying in bed, in each other’s embrace, the couple started sharing about their day, laughing and having a wonderful time.
In their room, it was peaceful and harmonious, while in side the master bedroom, things were a bit shaky.
After taking their separate showers, the couple climbed on the bed but still kept a distance. The gap between them was enough to fit a grown-up person. One might wonder what kind of a married couple they were.
Penny, recalling how Gael was so affectionate towards Diamond, and how they might be in each other’s embrace, loving each other. And then herself and Russ, she felt unwilling. Her hands were clenched into small fists inside the blanket as she looked at the man who was on his tablet, still working and showing no signs of doing anything else.
How long has it been since they did anything?
Why was is it so bitter?
When she thought about how her husband was smiling unknowingly whenever he was looking at Diamond and Gracelynn, and then his cold expression when he is with her. Her reluctance surged, and she found herself unconsciously saying something that she regretted once it was out of her mouth.
"Hehe, Russ, earlier today we were speaking. I mean me and Diamond. I never thought that there were such daring and bold women like that. If our elders were to hear such words, umph, they will surely blow their heads and banish her to a wasteland."
Russ, who had been busy reading a report, heard Penny taking. He wanted to treat her like air, after all, she always has something to talk about every single time just to bring them closer. But what can be done when he wasn’t feeling it?
However, she just had to bring up that woman, and he was quite curious.
Without looking at Penny, he responded once she was done whetting his appetite. "What did you talk about?"
Penny was excited by this response. She felt that this was her chance to shine – her chance to taint Diamond and make sure that whatever godly image she had in her husband’s mind will shatter.
With that in mind, she excitedly shared about their conversation while excluding some parts that might affect her. However, she made sure that she let him know about Diamond’s thoughts on relationships.
The reason why Diamond’s words and remarks in Penny’s words would make the elders blow up, or taint her image in her husband’s mind, though motivating and striking something inside her, was the fact that they went against everything that they were taught while growing up.
She is a woman, and her virtue is to serve her husband, and her children. It was normal for a man to look for others outside. As long as he returns home to the family. As the wife, she should be virtuous and generous.
A woman must not be too opinionated and act like the head of the house, unless she was born in a matriarchal home. However, in Brece, there weren’t many matriarchal clans. Most of them were patriarchal, and in their upper society, which man didn’t have a few mistresses outside?
It was normal, and as the wife, instead of airing dirty laundry, you must, by all means do your best to keep that under the wraps.
If Diamond were to hear this nonsense, she will completely flip up and cause trouble nonstop. What kind of madness was this kind of thinking? Especially coming from another woman.
What happened to loving yourself and treating yourself better?
