Chapter 84: Chapter 78: The New Era
"Graaaaaahahhhhhhh!"
Dravniel’s scream rose as his body began undergoing violent changes.
Normally, when an enemy transforms, any smart fighter would try to kill them before the transformation completes. But in that moment, Dravniel had covered himself with a mysterious white aura that formed a perfect circle around his body.
That was why none of them attempted to attack him.
But Foxy had already come up with a plan.
He commanded the monster he was controlling to unleash a long range attack, and the moment it did, the attack was vaporized.
So instead he used his katana to cut off the head of one of the controlled monsters, and as it fell into the area of the white atomic dragon Dravniel, a mysterious slash penetrated him.
It cut through his thick skin and the flesh began to vaporize.
From that experiment Julian Foxy had just conducted, him, Sirath, and Kael had already grasped the mechanics of the dragon’s new form and ability.
But their thoughts didn’t last long, because Dravniel had completed his transformation using the dragons he had sacrificed beside him, vaporizing both their souls and bodies alike. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
As Dravniel’s eyes opened, he began loading a white atomic blast.
Then a volley of atomic beams launched in every direction.
They killed every monster Foxy was controlling and even forced Julian to fall from a great height as the monster he had been riding was destroyed.
In a sudden impulse, the trio seized the chance.
Foxy used his falling state to his advantage. Flames erupted around him as he plummeted like a meteor. He had the ability to fall normally, but he chose this state deliberately to use the flames as a cover against Dravniel’s atomic vaporization attack. Sirath then added a sun barrier and a moon one as backup in case circumstances changed.
As Foxy entered Dravniel’s domain, a sudden barrage of massive slashes began tearing into him. But the three layers of protection had already minimized the damage, and his phantom physique absorbed the rest.
He endured the atomic slashes, avoided the white atomic blast, and quickly adjusted his black katana.
Foxy entered a full focus state as he landed in front of Dravniel in an instant.
Then he used his third strongest attack.
He closed his eyes and prepared to unlock the most powerful eye ability he had awakened so far.
Foxy carried something within him that unlocked mysterious eyes with different abilities, and no one knew a thing about it.
"Eyes of darkness and illogic alike. Bless your son with the gloom of night and the sacrifices of everyone’s might. Unlock the eyes of the true darkness of the crimson realm."
"The Eyes of Reddimita."
A sudden black snail shape took form inside his eyes as the surrounding iris turned crimson red, all of it happening within seconds.
As his phantom physique took effect, he had already carved a massive gash into Dravniel’s body.
Dravniel did not expect that.
A sudden cold voice spoke as something took control of Foxy’s body.
"The art of the infinite tail fox, blood absorption."
Blood began pouring out of Dravniel against his will. If he could not stop it, he would die.
"Damn. My body cannot endure that."
And as for Foxy, he collapsed to the ground, every ounce of strength drained from him. That was the cost of that move.
As Dravniel’s domain began to glitch, Sirath made an exchange with Foxy and Kael.
Now Kael stood in front of the dragon, who was desperately trying to close his wounds.
"Now it’s my turn."
Kael raised his bat ring as it began absorbing Dravniel’s blood. A white atomic aura surged within him as he canceled his chains.
He did not use them often. The last mission had nearly drained him dry, and using them continuously against far stronger enemies would only destroy him faster.
The moment he activated his blood boost mode, he began striking Dravniel from every angle, sending him skidding back meters with each hit. Dravniel tried to counter while desperately fighting to stop his own bleeding.
Kael connected Dravniel’s own blood to himself, turning the battle into one fought entirely with the enemy’s resources.
He formed bloody daggers and began hammering Dravniel’s open wounds, deepening them while boosting his own strength with every strike.
The battle raged on as Kael pushed himself into a new form.
An atomic bloody vampire boost.
A white aura blazed around him. His attacks were now cutting at the atomic level, forming small but devastating explosions inside his enemy’s body.
Dravniel tried to activate a white atomic explosion, but Kael had entered his domain and refused to give him a single moment to stop the bleeding.
Dravniel tried to take flight.
Kael’s bat wings erupted from his back as he cut him off.
"Damn it. These kids were strong. We have been the prey this entire time!" freewebnøvel.coɱ
Kael’s entire strategy revolved around protecting their trump card.
And that card was Sirath, who sat on the ground with his eyes closed. His crescent and sun tattoos glowed steadily.
Sirath was floating in space, his soul drifting through a vast cosmic sea as he searched for something. When he opened his eyes, he found it. A massive, burning star.
He reached out and placed both hands on it, beginning to absorb it as he chanted.
"Sun of Ommitia, activate."
His body turned golden. His eyes became solar disks. His hair blazed like sunlight.
The enormous golden heat began to rouse Foxy, who cracked his eyes open and saw the burning star right beside him.
"Damn it. Not that again."
He started rolling away until he was several meters clear.
"I have had enough. My body will not move. Song tricked us. He said it was a simple mission. The hell with him."
Sirath rose to his feet and opened his eyes to find Dravniel above and Kael’s body giving out. His wings vanished, and both of them took heavy damage as they crashed down together.
"I will finally kill you, you annoying insect. White Atomic Blast."
Dravniel launched one final blast to end the battle.
"I have won. Once I kill this one, I will go after that kid with the katana for what he did."
But as the atomic blast came screaming forward, Sirath stepped in front of it. His body absorbed it entirely.
Then he vanished from Dravniel’s sight.
Dravniel swiped with his claws to cut him down, only to have his hands burn. He spread his wings to escape.
Sirath’s gravity became monstrous, pinning Dravniel in place.
Dravniel’s eyes filled with fear.
Sirath began walking toward him slowly.
Dravniel poured everything he had left into one final swift attack, reverting to his human dragon form.
Sirath avoided it automatically, then raised both hands and drove them into Dravniel’s stomach.
"The Path of Crescent Solaria. Plasma Sun Explosion. Death."
A massive explosion erupted, but Sirath contained it within a smaller domain so it would not erase everything around them.
Normally an explosion of that magnitude would have been a true solar explosion, but because of the world’s laws, everything inside the main realms was forced to operate within its boundaries.
The corpse of Dravniel fell beside them both.
Foxy began rolling across the ground, unable to move any other way, until he reached the two of them and rested his head on Kael’s knee.
"Now I can sleep."
"That boss tricked us. I swear his enemies were way easier than ours. Why is that bastard always so damn lucky."
"Sirath muttered, annoyed. "Weren’t you the one who insisted we take that tower instead of the other one?"
"Shut up. Who could have known we would end up fighting a higher dragon? How is that a simple mission? My body is still aching from last week’s mission."
Foxy and Sirath cursed at each other while resting on Kael, one on his knee and the other against his shoulder.
Kael ignored both of them. With a single motion, he raised his ring finger and stored Dravniel’s corpse away. The heart would be useful later.
As the argument between the two only grew louder, neither of them noticed the change in the atmosphere.
A heavy silence fell over them as an unfamiliar presence approached, forcing both to stop at once.
Within the Realm of Death, the Death Monarch ruled above all. Beneath him stood the Five Death Lords, beings who governed countless worlds in his name.
And beneath those Lords stood ten disciples.
Monsters feared across dimensions.
On that day, the skies darkened as countless black crows rose into the air. Their cries echoed like funeral bells, announcing the arrival of a new heir.
One of the successors chosen by the Death Lord of the Magic World.
The man destined to one day stand against Chunma himself.
Black feathers drifted across the battlefield like a curse descending from the heavens.
Then he appeared.
The Blackfeather of Death spread his wings.
In purple and black. That is all I have ever believed in.
For I had witnessed his true peak with my own eyes.
The mysterious crow of night.
The shadow heir and necromancer of death.
Known to all as The Night Bard.
A massive pair of black crow wings carried him down from the sky before slowly fading into darkness behind him. He stepped forward calmly, removed the crow mask from his face, and rested a black katana over his shoulder while a lone crow perched silently on the other.
Long black hair fell past his shoulders in rough, unkempt layers, loose strands shadowing part of his face. Beneath them, sharp purple eyes glowed faintly in the darkness. A silver chain earring swayed from his left ear against pale skin, deepening the cold aura that surrounded him. On his finger rested a silver ring engraved with the symbol of his Death Lord.
His aura was neither mana nor any force you had ever known.
His aura was death.
It was Necrow Ravenveil, the second student of one of the Death Lord’s disciples. Song had sent him as backup, but as always, he had arrived late.
He was not part of Song’s organization, but he shared a beneficial relationship with them and had come to repay a debt.
"To hell with you, Necrow. Why do you always show up this damn late? I think you do it on purpose."
Necrow ignored the curses and began carrying the three of them onto his flying crow.
And so the Paradox Circle organization had managed to destroy two towers and kill both a mid phoenix and a high dragon in the same night.
The consequences were immediate. They had flipped the table at the successor’s ceremony and ignited a kingdom war between Thaloria and Renvall. They had slapped the Apex organization in the face and humiliated the mage community.
And worst of all, no one knew who was behind it.
Chaos was now on the horizon. A new era was beginning, one defined by the rise of new generations. The Arcana of Fools by Jester, the Paradox Organization by Song, Blue Requiem by Dr. Blue, and many others were ascending.
And one question lingered.
Could the new generation tear power from the hands of the old, or would the old talents reveal their true fangs?
Could Lin, who was still walking alone, stand against titans like these?
And beneath every other question, one truth waited at the center of it all.
Could Lin carve a path from what already existed, or would he be forced to forge something entirely new, something built to cover the cracks of a bloodline that had yet to awaken?
Could he reach what he was chasing?
