Lin Fang and Lin Long were sitting by the lakeside watching a shadow moving in the middle of the lake, hearing the story from the Cold Lake Demoness.
The sun was high in the sky, which matched the horror theme of the stories. Everything was calm, even the horror story told by the demoness didn’t carry much horror for Lin Fang. After all, it felt like any other random horror story he could easily find on the internet. None of it was enough to make him leave the village. Unless it comes to Xiao’s safety.

"Not exactly, but something similar." Demoness replied, then her tone suddenly changed, "But I will advise you not to care about this village. Every single person here had long been marked, even without Mo Yao’s curse; they will still be doomed."

"Sister Zhang, let me help you," Lin Fang provided her support with his shoulder. As he showed genuine care towards her and her baby, who was growing inside her stomach.
He wasn’t doing it to show off or because he had slept with her. This was just his basic kindness, which he might not have done to any random woman.
"Thanks," she happily took support, walking slowly together. They sat at the bank of the lake, dipping both of their feet in cold water. As they enjoyed the cold breeze in the surroundings.
"You too fell in love with this place?" Mrs Zhang asked, finding Lin Fang so even earlier than herself was a little new experience for her. As she was always the first to come here to relax, Luo Zhong and Luo Yue came after finishing their work at the inn. "Hm, this place is quite beautiful. I just wanted to enjoy the beauty of nature in my free time." Lin Fang replied casually.
He was sitting beside her, but he didn’t try to make any move on her. At this moment, he didn’t have any huge urge for sex; unless Mrs Zhang tried to seduce him, he would prefer sleeping here with half of his body in this cold water.
"I think you should take a nap; you look quite tired." Mrs Zhang said to him. Anyone could clearly see those black spots on his eyes. His face was clearly screaming that he was deprived of sleep.
"Yeah, I do need some sleep. I couldn’t get a proper sleep last night." Lin Fang said, knowing that his eyes looked a little tired, but he wasn’t expecting Mrs Zhang to care so much about him. Her words might just be coming casually, but the care behind them was as clear as water,
Lin Fang looked at her sweet, smiling face and didn’t know how to react to her smile.
"Come here, if you need a pillow for a nap?" Mrs Zhang said, spreading her arms for him.
Lin Fang didn’t have any hesitation towards this caring offer of hers. He was happy to have her as a body pillow.
Lin Fang threw his body on hers, his head resting on her shoulder, and his hand around her chest.
