"Why did we have to run like are you going to explain or not?" Wang Ping looked at Lin Fang, who had dragged him away from the chief’s house. Meanwhile, Meng Hao didn’t ask Lin Long any questions.
"Do you know anything about psychology, if we had stayed till she woke up. She won’t invite us ever again. But when she won’t see us, she will long for us. "Let’s head back," Lin Fang said to Wang Ping and went back to the inn.
Lin Fang had decided to meet Lin Long at the Cold Lake and also hear what the Demoness of the Cold Lake had to say. They had already met once, and he didn’t think that he had any ill intention towards him for some unknown reason. Maybe because he had a good sex with her, which caused this change in perception.
Once they reached the Inn, they had a heavy breakfast to recover some of the energy they had lost throughout the night.
"Brother, did you stay at Sister Zhang’s house?" Xiao looked at Lin Fang with a questionable look.
"No, we were at my new friend’s house." Lin Fang replied unfazed and continued eating.
"You got a friend here," she asked in confirmation.
"Hm," Lin Fang replied, without giving her any special attention. He was trying to act nonchalant, not wanting to answer too many of the questions.
He himself had many questions in his heart. The night had gone pretty fun on the surface, but the horror hidden underneath the shadows of lust was only visible to him and Lin Long.
Soon, they finished the meal, and Lin Fang stepped out of the house after assigning Lulu and Wang Ping with all those pics and making them edit and post on their channel.
As for Xiao, she was assigned to write the script for their vlog, though Lin Fang wasn’t even thinking about writing anything. To him, the legendary tales of this village were becoming too real.
He went straight towards the Cold Lake, without even telling anyone. He was going this early only because he didn’t want other know about his friendship with Lin Long. And he knew if Lin Long really wanted to talk to him, he would appear at the giant rock.
Walking through that old plant-covered path, he soon reached the lakeside. While he was planning to head toward that giant rock, he didn’t have to, because Lin Long was sitting at the lakeside, just a few metres away from the water. His eyes were staring at the distant horizon. His hair swayed with the cold, refreshing wind coming from the horizon. This wind reminded Lin Fang of that Demoness, when she possessed Mrs Ji Wu, her breath felt exactly like this wind.
"This..." Lin Fang followed Lin Long’s gaze and found himself getting mesmerised by the beauty of the lake. The warm sunlight illuminated the cold, refreshing water, followed by these rejuvenating winds.
His heart felt much calmer; the chaos in his mind vanished within the blink of an eye. Under the calmness of the moment, a black shadow began to surface in the middle of the lake, slowly increasing in size as it neared him.
"Are you the Cold Lake Demoness?" Lin Fang asked, his eyes following the moments of the shadow as it played around in the water, playfully closing the distance between them.
"Hehe~ guess~" He heard a familiar sweet voice, which was even more tender and charming now, talking with him as she played around in the water. Lin Fang was wondering how she was able to enjoy the water and play around in that limited space without getting bored.
For some reason, he didn’t want to think too much about anything.
"Do you really want to hear about the hidden horrors of this village? I will advise you to leave if you can get the demoness permission." Lin Long’s voice fell into his ears, waking him up from the daze.
"Huh, what do you mean?" he turned to Lin Long, wanting him to explain.
"I will explain it for you." Before Lin Long could answer, the Demoness’ voice came.
Lin Fang turned his gaze back to the water, watching the shadow play around. As the demoness’ whisper again came into his ears.
"It’s a long story, you should sit down first," the voice said, inviting him for a long conversation.
Lin Fang felt no harm in listening to her. In fact, her voice was like soothing music, relaxing his soul and heart. He sat down at the lakeside, waiting for her to begin the story. He dipped his feet in cold water, his eyes following playful shadow. Meanwhile, Lin Long also sat a little away from the water.
From his appearance, near the Cold Lake, it was clear he wasn’t really afraid of this Demoness, but there must be a reason behind his staying away from the Cold Lake and Demoness.
