Chapter 88: Chapter 88: Since I’m Your Girlfriend

"My phone and wallet were both in my purse. You couldn’t get through when you called, and I figure the thief must have turned my phone off. I would never just ignore your calls."

Georgia Thorne was afraid Elliot Sheridan would misunderstand, so she made sure to explain everything clearly, even adding that last sentence for emphasis.

Elliot Sheridan hummed in acknowledgment. "You can use my other phone for now."

"Okay!"

The misunderstanding between them was resolved, and their affection for each other deepened.

Men truly were not to be trifled with in the morning. Georgia Thorne had learned her lesson and vowed never to provoke him again right after waking up.

After they were finished, she lay languidly under the covers, feeling a bit drowsy.

After his shower, a refreshed Elliot Sheridan changed into clean loungewear and sat on the edge of the bed.

"The housekeeper is making lunch. You can get up in a bit."

Georgia Thorne let out a lazy hum, snuggling deeper into the blankets.

Suddenly, she felt a firm grip on her ankle. Startled, she looked at Elliot Sheridan.

"What are you doing!"

"Your ankles are so slender," Elliot Sheridan said with a grin. "And not just your ankles. Your waist is slender, your hands are delicate... It all feels so good to touch. Georgia, you’re so beautiful..."

Georgia Thorne blushed at his praise and chided playfully, "Stop it!"

Finally, she reached out and pressed her hand over his lips to silence him.

The part-time maid had already prepared lunch.

After their vigorous exercise, Georgia Thorne was starving and ate nearly twice as much as she normally would.

After lunch, Georgia Thorne sat on the sofa and held her hand out to Elliot Sheridan. "Your phone? I need to call Nancy."

Elliot Sheridan handed her his phone. Georgia Thorne noticed it was a new one as well. As she dialed Nancy Hughes’s number, she asked curiously, "What happened to your old phone?"

"It slipped out of my hand and broke," Elliot Sheridan said without batting an eye.

Georgia Thorne shot him a look. ’She didn’t believe him for a second. He must have smashed it out of jealousy after seeing her with Justin Sullivan and then being unable to reach her.’

’A sweet feeling blossomed in her heart. She loved that Elliot Sheridan got jealous over her, but she also felt a pang of sympathy for the phone. Those things are expensive, after all.’

The call connected quickly, and Nancy Hughes’s polite voice came through. "Hello? Who is this, please?"

"It’s me, Georgia."

The two of them were on the sofa, Georgia Thorne leaning comfortably against Elliot Sheridan while he toyed with a lock of her long hair.

"Oh, it’s you! Why the new number? What happened to your old one?" As soon as Nancy Hughes heard it was Georgia Thorne, her formal tone vanished. There was no need to be polite with a close friend. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com

"I ran into a thief yesterday. All my stuff was stolen!"

"That explains why you didn’t come home last night and why your phone was off! So, where did you end up sleeping? The Thorne Family residence, or our boss’s place?" Nancy Hughes’s last question, delivered with a wicked grin in her voice, made Georgia Thorne blush.

’Nancy Hughes knew all about her situation. She knew Georgia had a hard time living with the Thorne Family and definitely wouldn’t have gone back there, which left only one other option: Elliot Sheridan’s apartment.’

"Nancy, I won’t keep you from work. You should get back to it!"

Sometimes, the topics women discussed among themselves were even raunchier than men’s.

’She had to hang up before Nancy Hughes said something completely outrageous!’

"Oh no you don’t, Georgia! Spill the tea!"

"What gossip?" Georgia Thorne rolled her eyes in exasperation, ’silently grumbling about her gossip-mongering friend.’

"You were together all night! Don’t tell me our boss is some kind of monk who was a perfect gentleman and didn’t lay a finger on you! He had to have, right? How many times did you do it? Is he amazing, or are older guys not all they’re cracked up to be? You know, done in seconds? ...Georgia? Why aren’t you talking? Are you still there?"

Nancy Hughes’s questions were getting more and more shameless, with no filter whatsoever.

Georgia Thorne desperately wanted to hang up, but Elliot Sheridan was holding the phone—and her hand along with it.

His dark eyes were narrowed, sending dangerous warning signals straight at Georgia Thorne. She couldn’t hang up even if she wanted to.

"Nancy, please stop!" Georgia Thorne was practically begging, wondering where on earth her friend learned all this nonsense.

"I’m just making wild guesses! I need you to tell me the details. Come on, spill! It’s not like Elliot Sheridan is there with you, so what’s the harm in us girls talking?" Nancy Hughes, growing bolder in her excitement, even used his full name.

She had a feeling she could dig up some major dirt on her boss from Georgia Thorne.

Elliot Sheridan reached out and pinched Georgia Thorne’s waist. She winced, glaring at him before speaking into the phone, "Nancy, he’s right here with me."

"Huh? What!"

Nancy Hughes was still caught up in her excitement, and it took her a moment to process what Georgia Thorne had just said.

When it finally registered, she was so shocked she almost fell out of her chair. "President Sheridan!"

Elliot Sheridan leisurely took the phone. "Nancy Hughes, is it?"

’There was nothing more terrifying than being on the phone with your best friend and suddenly hearing your boss’s voice.’

This time, Nancy Hughes actually did fall out of her chair, landing hard on her butt.

The hand holding the phone trembled. "President Sheridan, it’s me."

"Mm. As for whether I’m a monk or not, whether I have stamina or finish in seconds... on that subject, you can just ask Georgia how I tormented her until she cried."

Elliot Sheridan grinned at Georgia Thorne, whose face was flushed with mortification as she hastily snatched the phone back from him.

"Nancy, don’t listen to his nonsense!"

On the other end of the line, Nancy Hughes was completely flustered, left reeling by Elliot Sheridan’s words.

Then the line went dead.

Staring at the disconnected call, the tension finally drained out of her. ’Thank God she hadn’t said anything *too* bad about the president.’

’That was absolutely terrifying. It sent a chill right down her spine.’

「Back at the apartment」

Georgia Thorne was angry with Elliot Sheridan.

’What was he thinking, spouting that nonsense in front of her friend!’

She announced she was leaving. Elliot Sheridan didn’t try to stop her; instead, he offered to drive her home.

Since she wanted to make a nice dinner that evening, they first made a trip to the supermarket.

She bought ingredients for the dishes Nancy Hughes liked to eat, while Elliot Sheridan was in charge of pushing the cart.

Going to the supermarket with Elliot Sheridan had happened once before.

Because Elliot Sheridan was so strikingly handsome, women would stare at him, and a crowd of them would often trail behind.

Elliot Sheridan found the attention troublesome, and Georgia Thorne didn’t like it either. So after that one time, Georgia had always done the shopping by herself, or occasionally had the part-time maid pick things up.

Elliot Sheridan pushed the cart while Georgia Thorne walked alongside, picking out items.

’Besides ingredients, she tried to think if they were missing anything else at home so she could buy it all at once.’

’After all, Elliot Sheridan had a car, and he could help carry everything.’

Elliot Sheridan grabbed a pair of men’s slippers from the shelf and tossed them into the cart.

Georgia Thorne glanced over and blushed.

She looked up at him. "Elliot Sheridan, are you planning on coming over to my place often?"

"Why? You don’t want me to?"

Georgia Thorne quickly shook her head. "No, it’s just... I’m afraid it’ll be awkward for Nancy."

Elliot Sheridan was Nancy Hughes’s ultimate boss. If they were all in the same apartment, she would definitely feel constrained.

Just like last time, when Nancy Hughes had been so intimidated by Elliot Sheridan that she’d hidden in her room and refused to come out. freeωebnovēl.c૦m

Elliot Sheridan hummed noncommittally and grabbed a towel and some other things from a shelf.

"Elliot Sheridan, are you even listening to me?" Georgia Thorne raised her voice. Looking at the towel, toothbrush, and other items in the cart, she thought, ’He can’t seriously be planning to stay the night at my place, can he?’

"I heard you. This way, your roommate can hear you crying and begging for mercy for herself, and she won’t have to keep asking you about it."
