Chapter 45: Chapter 45: President Sheridan, As Per Your Instructions

Hayley Sullivan was about to go mad over this business with Georgia Thorne. Letting Georgia have the Thorne surname was already the absolute limit of her tolerance. ’Make her take my Sullivan name too? You might as well just drive me completely insane and get it over with!’

"First, we get Georgia Thorne into a man’s bed. Then, no matter how much of a scene she makes, we stick to our story. We’ll insist that she was after his money and climbed into his bed on her own."

Hayley Sullivan was a ruthless person. She was especially merciless to those who stood in her way.

"But what if Uncle doesn’t believe us when he gets back? What if he believes Georgia Thorne instead? What do we do then?" Amanda Thorne asked as she drove.

Amanda Thorne wasn’t very familiar with her uncle, Justin Sullivan. He wasn’t much older than her, and when they first met, she’d mistaken him for an older brother.

Only later did she learn that Justin Sullivan was, in fact, her uncle.

The reason he was so young was entirely due to a foolish mistake her maternal grandfather had made years ago.

Hayley Sullivan’s family was very respectable.

Her father, Silas Sullivan, was a famous painter, while her mother was the daughter of a high-ranking official.

Before Silas Sullivan was famous, he was just a poor artist selling his work to get by. Hayley Sullivan’s mother, Jane Jennings, happened upon his paintings and, admiring them greatly, struck up a conversation with him.

After spending more time with him, she discovered he was not only talented but a good man as well.

One thing led to another, and the two of them got married.

But what no one knew was that Silas Sullivan had a former fiancée, Lauren Reid.

Due to poverty, Lauren Reid had married another man. Years later, again due to poverty, Silas Sullivan spotted her working an odd job and learned by chance that her husband had terminal cancer.

She was, after all, the woman he had truly loved in his youth. Silas Sullivan personally helped arrange her husband’s funeral.

He even bought her a house to live in. One drunken night, they had an affair, which resulted in Lauren Reid’s pregnancy and, eventually, Justin Sullivan.

When Lauren Reid later fell ill and passed away, Silas Sullivan brought Justin Sullivan home.

Jane Jennings fought fiercely with Silas Sullivan, refusing to let Justin Sullivan into their home.

Silas Sullivan put his foot down. "Justin is my only son. If you don’t agree, then let’s get a divorce!" freewebnovёl.ƈom

The word "divorce" was like a slap in the face to Jane Jennings.

A luxurious room was dimly lit with warm-colored lights.

In the center of the large bed, a young woman was sleeping soundly.

Hayley Sullivan glanced at the man before her. "Mason Morgan, this little daughter of mine is a virgin. You have to keep your word!" freeweɓnovel.cøm

Mason Morgan’s status was nothing to scoff at. He was the president of a major corporation in Portmire. He was a bit on the older side, but his family background was excellent.

Besides, Mason Morgan’s wife had died just last year, and he only had a daughter. If Georgia Thorne married him and was fortunate enough to give him a son, she wouldn’t have to worry for the rest of her life.

Glancing at Georgia Thorne again, she thought, ’When you think about it, Georgia, you should be thanking me!’

Mason Morgan, of course, said it was no problem. He first handed Hayley Sullivan a check and sent her on her way.

Back in the car, Hayley Sullivan handed Amanda Thorne the five-million-dollar check from Mason Morgan.

Amanda Thorne scoffed. "Who knew Georgia Thorne was worth so much!"

That Mason Morgan is certainly generous, tossing around a five-million-dollar check just like that.

"Tell me about it! When Georgia Thorne hits the big time, she’ll have us to thank!"

To be honest, neither Hayley Sullivan nor Amanda Thorne had expected Mason Morgan to give them a five-million-dollar check. They would have considered one or two million a huge sum.

"Mom, how did you get in touch with that Mason Morgan guy anyway?" Amanda Thorne asked, driving out of the underground parking garage.

"I didn’t contact him; he contacted me. A week ago, Mason Morgan said he’d taken a liking to Georgia Thorne and asked me to play matchmaker."

Justin Sullivan was due back in the country soon, and Hayley Sullivan was desperate to marry Georgia Thorne off.

With Mason Morgan showing up, she decided to just go all in.

As the mother and daughter secretly celebrated the five-million-dollar check, they were completely unaware that they had actually helped Georgia Thorne.

In the hotel suite, Georgia Thorne lay quietly on the bed, sleeping soundly under the drug’s effect.

He walked out of the room, stood by the door, and made a phone call.

Ten minutes later, several figures strode toward him.

Mason Morgan bowed respectfully. "President Sheridan, as per your instructions, Miss Thorne is inside."

Elliot Sheridan grunted in acknowledgment, his tone unreadable. He pushed open the door, his eyes immediately landing on the woman asleep on the bed.

After a long moment of silence from within, Mason Morgan lifted his head and peeked inside.

He saw Elliot Sheridan lifting the woman from the bed.

Elliot Sheridan’s status was exceptional. In all these years, he had never been rumored to be involved with any woman.

Aside from a rumored fiancée, his private life was spotless.

But now, it seemed that wasn’t the case.

At the very least, Georgia Thorne was someone special to Elliot Sheridan.

A week ago, Mason Morgan would never have dreamed that the most prestigious man in all of Portmire would appear before him.

They had made a deal.

His company would get a massive project with the Sheridan Group, and Elliot Sheridan’s condition was simple: he was to ask Jared Thorne for someone.

And that someone was Georgia Thorne, the very woman Elliot Sheridan now held in his arms.

The man’s wide suit jacket completely concealed the petite woman as he carried her out.

As he passed Mason Morgan, Elliot Sheridan shot him a look. "You didn’t look, did you?"

Mason Morgan snapped his gaze away, shaking his head vigorously. "I came right out as soon as Hayley Sullivan left!"

’Are you kidding me? She’s Elliot Sheridan’s woman. I wouldn’t dare take even a single glance.’

Elliot Sheridan snorted and left, carrying Georgia Thorne.

Owen Sawyer, following behind, took a contract from his briefcase.

"President Morgan, you can take this contract back and look it over."

Mason Morgan accepted the contract, his hands trembling with excitement. He hadn’t expected things to move so quickly.

"Secretary Sawyer, please thank President Sheridan for me!"

"This isn’t a matter of thanks. It’s that you’ve done something that pleased President Sheridan, President Morgan."

With that, Owen Sawyer hurried to catch up to Elliot Sheridan.

Mason Morgan stood at the door. ’All I did was follow President Sheridan’s instructions and do what I was supposed to. And that’s all it took to please him?’

’It seems Georgia Thorne is no ordinary person.’

’At the very least, she holds a very special place in Elliot Sheridan’s heart.’

It was a transaction. Mason Morgan wanted the project, and Elliot Sheridan wanted the person.

Owen Sawyer had been with Elliot Sheridan for many years. As someone who always prioritized profit, even he couldn’t understand his boss’s intentions.

No matter how you looked at it, their side was the only one taking a loss on this deal.

Elliot Sheridan carried Georgia Thorne into his private suite.

The same place where he had rescued her the first time.

After he placed her on the bed, Georgia Thorne, feeling stuffy, pushed aside the suit jacket covering her.

It was a captivating sight.

’It seems that Thorne mother-daughter duo really doesn’t leave anything to chance. A two-pronged attack, just to be safe!’

At the crack of dawn, Georgia Thorne woke up, her body aching.

Her mind felt like it had been struck by lightning. All traces of sleep vanished as she snapped her eyes open.

She clamped a hand over her mouth, forcing herself not to scream.

’I went to sleep at home! Why am I in a hotel? And why is the man sleeping next to me Elliot Sheridan?!’

Georgia Thorne panicked as memories began to seep into her mind, piece by piece.

Before she went to sleep last night, Hayley Sullivan had come to see her... and then she’d passed out.

It was all coming back to her now.

Carefully, she lifted the hand resting on her waist and fled.

The moment the hotel door clicked shut, the supposedly sleeping man snapped his eyes open.
