Chapter 109: Chapter 109: You Guys Are Living Together
Elliot Sheridan was reluctant to part with Georgia Thorne. He really wanted to just pack her up and take her with him.
Back at the apartment, Nancy Hughes returned not long after Elliot left.
She brought back a lot of specialties from her hometown, piling them on the table. "Nope, I’m bursting. I have to use the bathroom first."
Georgia was tidying up the things Nancy had brought back when she heard a shout from the bathroom. "Holy crap, what’s going on? Did I walk into the wrong bathroom?!"
Nancy immediately rushed out of the bathroom, pointing inside. "Why are there men’s toiletries in there!" freewebnσvel.cѳm
Georgia immediately stood up, her face flushing red. "Um, those are Elliot’s."
She quickly went in and gathered up all of Elliot’s things.
Nancy’s eyes went wide. The razor, shaving cream, and towel on the sink... they were all Elliot’s?
She pinched the bridge of her nose. "Don’t tell me Elliot has been staying here these past few days?"
Georgia gave a noncommittal nod as she finished packing up all of Elliot’s belongings.
"Okay, it’s all yours now," Georgia said, carrying the items into her own room.
That really gave Nancy a scare.
After coming out of the bathroom, Nancy said to Georgia, who was tidying up on the sofa, "The moment I think about a man having used the bathroom, I’m suddenly scared to use it!"
’That’s the toilet used by the big boss!’
Nancy looked nervous as she sat down next to Georgia. "Georgia, I have a very serious question for you, and you have to answer me truthfully."
"Go ahead," Georgia said, taking a sip of water.
"You two didn’t do it in the bathroom, did you?"
"PFFT!" Georgia sprayed a mouthful of water, choking and coughing repeatedly.
She was truly shocked by Nancy’s shameless question. Blushing furiously, she raised her voice, "What are you thinking!"
"Just answer me! If you did, I’ll never be able to use this bathroom again for the rest of my life!" Nancy demanded, a look of earnest inquiry on her face.
’The thought of using a toilet where those two might have done... you-know-what... I really can’t accept that.’
’I’m still an innocent maiden!’
"No!" Georgia flatly denied.
"Really? No?" Nancy asked doubtfully, not believing her. "Don’t they say that when a man gets horny, there’s no stopping him? And they especially like doing it in the bathroom? Hmm? Hmm?"
Nancy winked at her, her face a mask of curiosity and gossip.
’Hmm, hmm my ass!’
Georgia was so embarrassed and annoyed she nearly cursed out loud, wishing she could just smash the cup in her hand over Nancy’s head.
"No, he didn’t touch me at all these past seven days!"
"Seven days!" Nancy gasped, her focus completely different from Georgia’s. "Elliot Sheridan stayed in this apartment for a full seven days? You two have moved in together!"
’Oh my god, if Elliot is going to keep coming over, how is a single pringle like me supposed to survive?’
’Am I just supposed to watch their public displays of affection every day?!’
Georgia didn’t answer. ’It probably doesn’t count as living together.’
「Meanwhile, at the Sheridan residence—」
Elliot sat in the car, in no hurry to get out, looking at his phone.
Owen Sawyer, in the front seat, saw him typing what looked like a text message. ’It must be for Miss Thorne.’
A few seconds after Elliot sent the text, he received a reply from Georgia Thorne.
A barely perceptible smile touched the corners of his lips as he pushed open the car door and got out.
Inside the house, Selena Sheridan was crying on the sofa while her mother, Hillary, tried to comfort her.
"There, there, sweetie, don’t cry!"
A tense atmosphere had fallen over the Sheridan family. The usually lively and cheerful Selena Sheridan had actually threatened to jump off a building and kill herself over a man who wanted to break up with her. In the end, the family had managed to talk her down.
But at this very moment, her father, Carter Sheridan, was nowhere to be found.
Sharon Ennis couldn’t find her eldest son, so she had to call her younger one.
On the other end of the line, Elliot had replied in a heavy tone, "I know," and then came back from the apartment Georgia was renting.
Justin Sullivan was the one who had initiated the breakup with Selena Sheridan, and Elliot knew exactly who it was over.
That was precisely why Elliot hadn’t told Georgia about it; it would only make her feel more guilty.
Elliot had argued with his brother on the phone. His face dark, he had ordered Owen Sawyer to drive back to the Sheridan residence.
James Sheridan sat on the other side of the room, sighing as he watched his precious granddaughter.
"That Justin Sullivan isn’t all that great, if you ask me. Tomorrow, Grandpa will introduce you to a better man, I guarantee he’ll be superior to Justin Sullivan in every way!" James Sheridan, at a complete loss with his crying granddaughter, could only try to coax her in a gentle voice.
Hearing this, Selena Sheridan only cried harder. "I don’t want to! I only want Justin Sullivan! I don’t want anyone but him!"
Just as she finished speaking, the main door was shoved open, slamming against the wall with a loud BANG.
Elliot Sheridan strode in like a storm. "Fine. Then you can spend the rest of your life growing old and alone!"
At his words, Selena looked up at her Second Uncle with teary eyes, so angry she wanted to cry even more.
Everyone else was trying to console her, but he was the only one saying the opposite.
"What, have we spoiled you too much? Didn’t you just say you don’t want anyone else? Justin Sullivan doesn’t want you, so what else is there for you but to grow old alone!" Elliot said coldly. "Or should we, the Sheridan Family, go force Justin Sullivan to marry you?!"
"You might be capable of such a disgraceful thing, but the Sheridan Family is not!"
His deep, cold eyes radiated an icy chill, and suddenly, no one dared to speak.
Selena Sheridan feared nothing and no one, except for her uncle, Elliot.
If Elliot told her to go east, she wouldn’t dare go west. If he said he’d count to two, she knew he’d never reach three.
Elliot had hit a nerve. Selena’s shoulders trembled with anger, and she looked to the others, pleading for help.
"Let’s see who dares to speak up for you!"
Elliot shot a dark, menacing glare across the room, and James Sheridan, who had been about to speak up for his granddaughter, instantly shut his mouth.
This son of his had a terrible temper. When he got angry, even he, the father, would sometimes be frightened.
With everyone silent, Selena saw she was isolated and without allies. She let out a loud wail, accusing him through her tears, "Second Uncle, you’re bullying me!"
"He’s just a man. Instead of wasting your time crying here, you’d be better off spending it on something else. Tonight, let her cry as much as she wants. If she wants to jump off a building and kill herself, then let her die. No one is to stop her!"
Elliot had been like a little adult since he was a child, a very mature man.
He would hide all his emotions deep inside, and he was very good at concealing them. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
Now, this was the first time the Sheridan family had ever seen Elliot lose his temper like this. Selena Sheridan had truly walked into the line of fire.
Selena was stunned silent by Elliot’s words, looking at him in disbelief.
’Is this still the Second Uncle who always doted on me? Why does it feel like he’s become a completely different person?’
’He’s even more tyrannical!’
Her crying stopped instantly. Coaxed by Sharon Ennis, she was led back to her room.
Elliot had a bad temper. After Selena went upstairs, only the father and son, Elliot and James Sheridan, remained in the living room.
Elliot looked at him. "There’s something I want to talk to you about."
"What is it? Go on." James Sheridan took a sip of tea to calm his nerves. It had been a long time since he’d seen his son get this angry.
"Regarding Joanne Donovan, I will not get engaged to her. Also, the next time Quincy Rhodes brings her daughter to our door, just throw them out. As for what happened back then, I think they know very well whose fault it was!" Elliot made no attempt to hide it, lighting up a cigarette right in front of James Sheridan.
Bluish-white smoke rose, obscuring his handsome face.
James Sheridan watched him, wondering who his son took after. He was ruthless in his actions, showing no mercy at all.
"Well, we bear half the responsibility for that incident. It really hasn’t been easy for her, a single woman raising a child all these years."
"Not easy? Hah!" Elliot’s eyes radiated a sinister cold as he took a harsh drag from his cigarette. "Was her mayorship all for nothing these past years? Who knows how many connections she’s cultivated behind the scenes! That woman, Quincy Rhodes, is far too calculating. What she wants is more than just the Sheridan family’s financial and influential support!"
