Chapter 1227: Chapter 1227: You Can Borrow My Embrace

He was pretty shameless. Summer Sutton hadn’t planned on letting him in at all. It was bad enough he forced his way in, and now he had the nerve to stay and eat here.

Summer Sutton ignored him and only cooked a plate of noodles for herself. However, the portion was quite large, much more than her usual appetite.

Little did she know, just as she set the noodles on the dining table and picked up a fork, Watt Bennet beat her to it by grabbing his own fork and started eating from her plate in large mouthfuls.

He seemed genuinely hungry, despite having grown up in luxury, always having everything handed to him. Yet here he was, devouring the noodles like a starving man.

Summer Sutton stared quietly for a long time at Watt, who was still buried in her plate. She didn’t remove the plate from him.

Within a few bites, Watt finished most of the noodles from her plate, leaving only a small portion for her. Satisfied and full, he finally lifted his head.

Pulling a napkin to wipe his mouth, he showed not the slightest bit of shame, "Not bad at all."

Summer Sutton didn’t respond to him, calmly continuing to eat her share.

Watt stared at her for a moment, his expression turning serious, "Even though Kelly Ann is gone, I’m still going to look into this matter."

Summer Sutton just listened quietly, not speaking.

"Is Ariella coming back tonight?" Watt stood up, scanning the suite without any intention of leaving even after his meal.

He carefully inspected every corner of the room and then suggested, "If she’s not coming back, I could stay here with you tonight!"

Turning his head, he studied her reaction.

"No need." Summer Sutton didn’t even lift her head, casually throwing his suggestion back at him.

"You see, this suite isn’t exactly small. I’m just worried about you being scared alone." Watt smiled, corners of his mouth lifting slightly.

"Thank you for your concern, Mr. Bennet, but I’m fine living here on my own." Summer Sutton still didn’t look up.

"How could that be? Aren’t there plenty of times when being alone is inconvenient? You love taking baths every day. What if something happens in the bathroom, or you slip and fall with no one around to help?" Watt continued trying to convince her.

Summer Sutton thought he was talking nonsense.

Was he cursing her to have an accident in the bath?

"I’ve taken baths like this all my life. A few nights won’t make a difference. Mr. Bennet, you can leave now." Without a hint of appreciation, Summer Sutton directly issued an eviction order.

"There are many benefits to having someone stay with you. If it gets cold at night, I can provide warmth for Miss Sutton." Watt glanced at her, persisting in persuading her.

"It’s summer now." Summer Sutton reminded him.

"Just because it’s summer doesn’t mean it won’t get cold. Even with the air-conditioning, how high do you think the room temperature can be?"

Summer Sutton bit her tongue, utterly speechless.

What a thought!

Watt took a lap around the suite and stepped onto the balcony, still voicing his opinions, "Look, there’s not even a safety net here. What if a thief breaks in at night? You wouldn’t have anyone to call for help. Homes of single women are often targets for thieves. Aren’t you worried?"

Summer Sutton gently massaged her temples, slowly lifting her face, "I’ve been here for days without issues. While Ariella’s place isn’t exactly luxury housing, there shouldn’t be any thieves around. Mr. Bennet, you can leave with peace of mind."

Without any intention of negotiating, she firmly insisted that Watt Bennet leave.
