Chapter 1224: Chapter 1224: Wife Is Still Wife After All

Actually, calling it a disturbance is quite unnecessary. With their relationship, there’s no issue of disturbance or not.

After Summer Sutton got out of the car, she didn’t bother with the blooms inside, and went straight in, but Watt Bennet entered the community before her.

"Let me escort you in!" He tossed her a sentence, treating the place like his own home, and headed straight to Ariella Sawyer’s block.

Summer thought he was just sending her to the elevator or the suite door and didn’t stop him.

After all, for the past few days, Watt had been quite self-aware.

Unexpectedly, Watt escorted her to the suite door and stood there without leaving.

"Mr. Bennet, you can leave now." Summer reminded him, opening the door.

Watt didn’t barge in and linger like he usually would.

He stood at the door, his expression unusually serious, "I just want to look at you a little longer."

Summer’s back stiffened slightly, and she halted her steps.

Watt took her silence as acquiescence, stepped inside, and closed the door with a backward motion.

Once inside, he found a spot on the sofa and sat down, his gaze turning to her, "You can pretend I’m not here, just do what you need to."

Summer hadn’t planned on paying him any mind anyway, and turned into the kitchen.

It was almost eight now; she’d been working since the afternoon and hadn’t eaten dinner.

She opened the fridge, intending only to prepare a meal for herself, but after a pause, she couldn’t bring herself to be ruthless.

Watt didn’t know what time he’d be at Royal Delight, but Summer knew he hadn’t eaten dinner either.

She was in no mood for anything complicated, opting for two servings of simple pasta.

After bringing it out, she didn’t call him, and sat at the dining table to eat her portion.

Watt, however, seemed pleasantly surprised by the extra serving on the table.

So, a wife is still a wife; she’s good to him!

"I’m so hungry!" He didn’t wait for her to speak before pulling out a chair, swiftly sitting next to her, and grabbing a fork to eat the other portion of pasta.

Summer didn’t engage him, quietly finishing her dinner, and after washing the dishes, she went to the living room to watch TV.

Watt quickly followed her, squeezed onto the same sofa, and sat down.

He wanted Summer to act as if he didn’t exist, yet everything he did seemed to emphasize his presence.

Summer, on the other hand, truly acted like he wasn’t there, focused solely on switching TV channels with the remote.

She wasn’t in the mood for TV at all; she hadn’t left because she hoped to hear something from Watt that she wanted.

The deadline she gave him was nearing, and already several days had passed; Summer spent each day in disappointment.

Watt actually understood everything; he spent a few hours at Ariella Sawyer’s place, and once it was time for Summer to sleep, he left the suite and quickly sought out Kelly Ann.

He wanted to know what drug Kelly Ann used that night.

If it wasn’t related to sex, then chances were high that he and Lorraine Hughes didn’t do anything that night.

Unexpectedly, he had people searching for Kelly Ann for several days, but there was no sign of her.

A living person, Watt hadn’t acted against her before, but now she vanished suddenly.

On the fourth day, police sent news: Kelly Ann was gone, having committed suicide in a hotel bathtub.

Reason for suicide: her agency blacklisted her, and her career prospects were utterly dashed.

Watt clutched his phone, his long fingers clenching it tightly.
