Chapter 1223: Chapter 1223: A Lifetime of Disturbing You
Watt Bennet said this with another purpose in mind.
Announcing this in front of so many journalists, his main aim was to inform Ryan Walyon and Manuel Ink that Summer Sutton was his wife, legally connected to him, thereby claiming victory over the two of them.
Of course, confirming her status as the legitimate partner in front of the public was also a reason.
Watt wanted to clarify to everyone that the only woman associated with him was Summer Sutton, and others had no relation to him.
Does this put an end to all the journalists’ doubts?
After all, regarding that night’s incident, the journalists only knew Watt was spotted near Lorraine Hughes’ house blocking a car, unaware of other details.
Despite his statement aiming to suppress any speculation, unexpectedly, the car window rolled down with Summer’s voice gently drifting out, "Mr. Bennet’s declaration isn’t truthful; the matter of obtaining a marriage certificate does not exist."
Her words were casual and calm, but the commotion it stirred at the scene was like a tidal wave.
"Oh my, what’s happening now?"
"Was there a plan to get the certificate which got cancelled due to some reasons?"
"Because of the Lorraine Hughes situation?"
"So, is a breakup planned now?"
Watt was clearly unprepared for the usually silent Summer’s deliberate correction, turning his face towards her with helplessness, "Summer..."
Summer ignored him, explaining to the journalists, then shifted her gaze forward.
Watt’s head was spinning, surrounded by journalists, feeling increasingly frustrated.
However, having made his earlier statements, today he had to respond to whatever questions the journalists posed.
Helpless, he continued standing outside the car, answering the journalists’ queries.
Journalists continued asking many questions, inquiring whether he was currently pursuing Summer Sutton, if the situation with Lorraine Hughes was real, or when it started.
For all questions related to Summer Sutton, Watt admitted everything.
Regarding Lorraine Hughes, Watt did not elaborate much.
Surrounded by journalists for over an hour, when he finally drove off with Summer Sutton, it was already seven-thirty.
Watt glanced at her sitting beside him, tentatively suggesting, "Let’s go home for dinner, maybe bring in the chef from Morning Garden, the one you like. How about it?"
"No need, it’s already late. Mr. Bennet can just drop me off at Ariella’s place." Summer Sutton didn’t look at him, her tone was calm.
Watt had no choice but to drive towards Ariella Sawyer’s neighborhood.
He drove slowly, deliberately, purely because he didn’t want to part with her too soon.
After a while, he suddenly remarked, "You’ve been staying at a friend’s for several days, aren’t you worried about disturbing them?"
Summer simply listened quietly, not responding.
Watt paused, glanced at her, and ventured again, "Actually, I wouldn’t mind the disturbance."
Staying with Ariella was inconvenient, but living with him, she could cause all the disturbances she wanted, it wouldn’t matter, ideally for a lifetime.
"Staying at Little Ariella’s is quite fine," Summer replied calmly.
Watt had no choice but to drive her to Ariella Sawyer’s place.
Currently, Ariella was still on the rise, often spending time with the crew, leaving Summer Sutton alone at home.
