Chapter 1204: Chapter 1204: Her Love for Him
The newcomer just entering society really is oblivious. Kelly Ann hadn’t even thought about what she’d do if Watt Bennet woke up tomorrow and knew what she’d done.
She even felt that tonight’s events had been a bargain for Lorraine Hughes.
But then again, what’s the point of comparing when one’s influence doesn’t match up?
Whether it’s in the entertainment industry or family status, Kelly Ann cannot compare to Lorraine Hughes at all.
Tonight’s incident, she can only swallow the grievance.
...
Summer Sutton is still searching for Watt Bennet, and Northtown is so vast. Upon leaving the bar, she was completely directionless.
She had no choice but to contact several of Watt Bennet’s assistants by phone, asking Marshall Quinn and others to help arrange for people to search together.
...
After Lorraine Hughes took Watt Bennet away, she went straight to the Hughes Family residence.
Ever since reaching adulthood, she had never gotten close to any man, let alone take a man home.
Henry Hughes was momentarily stunned to see her supporting Watt Bennet as they entered.
"What’s going on?"
"Dad, my friend ran into some trouble, so I brought him back to rest." Lorraine Hughes explained simply.
She spoke lightly, but how could Henry Hughes not understand?
Friend?
If it were merely a simple friend, would Lorraine Hughes bring him home so readily?
Henry Hughes glanced at Watt Bennet’s profile, somewhat puzzled, "Isn’t this the new chief of Shining Sky?"
"Yes, Dad." Lorraine Hughes did not deny it, instead calling a servant over to help continue upstairs.
Henry Hughes gazed at their retreating backs and asked directly, "Do you like him?"
"Dad!" Lorraine Hughes turned her head to give him a reproachful look.
She didn’t admit it, but Henry Hughes understood everything.
"Got it, got it, Dad won’t ask anymore." He waved them off, gesturing for them to go to the room.
After that, Lorraine Hughes quickly guided Watt Bennet to her room.
Watt Bennet was only affected by a knockout drug, losing consciousness, without displaying other symptoms.
Lorraine Hughes had a doctor examine him, and after being told that he’d be fine once he woke up, she breathed a sigh of relief.
In the room, it was just her and Watt Bennet.
Watt Bennet was still asleep, and had remained unconscious since arriving at the Hughes Family residence.
Lorraine Hughes sat quietly at the bedside, lost in thought as she gazed at his face.
Reflecting on the scene she witnessed at the hotel earlier, it all seemed so inconceivable.
Her gaze froze on the mask on Watt Bennet’s face; Lorraine Hughes hesitated repeatedly, then tremulously reached out, intending to remove the mask, when Watt Bennet suddenly made a waving motion.
Lorraine Hughes’ outstretched hand was brushed aside by his movement.
His action was actually random in his sleep, but it startled Lorraine Hughes.
Thinking he was awake, Lorraine Hughes stared at him dazedly for a long while.
Warily observing his reaction, she assumed he’d open his eyes in the next moment, but Watt Bennet instead turned his head and continued to sleep.
Lorraine Hughes was unsure what his earlier gesture meant, but fearing that Watt Bennet was truly awake, she dared not continue to remove his mask.
Truthfully, without removing it, she could still confirm his identity.
She had already seen part of his face beneath the mask, and Lorraine Hughes was sure she could never mistake him for Adrian Walyon.
Thinking back to the scene she witnessed earlier at the hotel, her heart stirred.
Gazing at Watt Bennet, lost in his presence, she could look at him endlessly without tiring.
Right now, the man lying in her bed is Adrian Walyon!
He is alive!
