Chapter 1203: Chapter 1203: He’s Still Alive

His steps slowed. Turning his head to the side, he glanced at Kelly Ann.

On the way upstairs, Kelly Ann seemed exhausted too, panting as she wiped away sweat.

The waiter watched her, lost in thought.

Working in a hotel, he’d seen this kind of thing plenty of times. He could more or less guess what was going on.

Just as he was struggling with whether he should keep helping, a slender figure stepped out of one of the rooms in the hallway.

Lorraine Hughes!

"Miss Chapman, see you tomorrow!" Lorraine waved to the person in the room, walked past the three of them, and after she’d already gone by, she suddenly stopped.

Her gaze swept over the face of the semi-conscious man, and then fixed on the mask covering his face.

Watt Bennet was leaning against the wall, his head hanging very low, his face tilted downward.

Standing like that, the mask had slipped a little.

From Lorraine’s angle, she could see a small part of the face exposed beneath it.

Staring quietly at the man leaning against the wall for a long moment, Lorraine’s whole body jolted, like she’d been struck dumb. Once her eyes landed on his face, they never moved away.

She might mistake someone else, but him—there was absolutely no way.

Adrian Walyon...

He’s still alive...

He’s still alive!

Kelly Ann had rested for a bit. Worried the drug would wear off and Watt would wake up, she propped him up, planning to get him into the room again, when behind her, Lorraine’s voice suddenly rang out, "Wait!"

She called out a little anxiously. The abrupt sound made Kelly Ann freeze for a second. She turned her face, looking at her in surprise.

Kelly Ann recognized Lorraine’s face. Right now, there weren’t many people in the country who didn’t know her.

"Miss Hughes, is something wrong?" Kelly Ann glanced at her, not understanding what Lorraine was trying to do.

Lorraine slowly walked in her direction, drew in a breath, forcibly pressed down all the emotions surging in her chest, and let her gaze fall on Watt’s face. "What’s wrong with Mr. Bennet?"

"Mr. Bennet is drunk. I was planning to send him back to his room!" Kelly Ann said steadily.

"Really? But he doesn’t look like he’s just drunk." Lorraine stared at Watt for a moment and said.

Kelly Ann hadn’t expected her to see through it at a glance, and her eyes flickered for a second.

"M–Miss Hughes..." Kelly Ann had been keeping her cool, but once she was exposed, she suddenly didn’t know how to answer.

"You don’t know Mr. Bennet or this lady, do you? You picked the wrong target. His methods are a lot more ruthless than you think." Lorraine saw through her intentions in one look and warned her bluntly.

Kelly Ann had been full of confidence about tonight, but no matter how carefully she’d planned, she never expected to be found out—and by someone who knew Watt.

"Miss Hughes, it’s not what you think. I didn’t do anything to Mr. Bennet. I just didn’t know where to take him, so I brought him to a hotel so he could rest, that’s all." Kelly Ann was starting to panic, scrambling to find excuses for herself.

"Mr. Bennet and I are friends. Please have him taken out of here first." Lorraine ignored her, handed the waiter a tip, and had him help Watt downstairs.

She followed behind them down the stairs, had the waiter get Watt into the car, then drove him herself toward the Hughes Family estate.

Kelly Ann stood behind them, stiff the whole time as she watched it all happen, seething with anger and frustration, yet completely helpless.

What she was worried about now wasn’t her future career. What was filling her mind at this moment was only where Lorraine Hughes was going to take Watt Bennet.
