Chapter 1183: Chapter 1183: She Fell Down

In this episode’s recording, every team of guests had a child with them.

In the team Summer Sutton was assigned to, the little guest was an eight-year-old boy.

Boys are always a bit mischievous, and once they got up the mountain there were so many new things he’d never seen before that he was looking here and there nonstop, never settling down for a moment.

Summer followed behind the cameraman, watching the kid closely at all times, guarding against every possible accident.

"Joy, be careful, the mountain path is steep. Wait up for me!" As they walked, Summer kept reminding the little boy ahead of her.

Joy ignored her, still bouncing around and running wherever he wanted.

"Joy, don’t walk so close to the edge!" Afraid something might happen, Summer hurriedly ran up.

The mountain they were on had probably had rain the day before. The path was still muddy, puddles on the ground, and the footing was a bit slippery.

The group walked into a patch of forest on the mountainside. Joy must have spotted a plant he hadn’t seen elsewhere and ran over excitedly. "I found it! Is this the herb we’re looking for?"

He was thrilled, his small figure dashing over, reaching out to pick it.

But when Summer looked in his direction and clearly saw what he was trying to pick, she was so scared her face went pale.

The stalk of grass he wanted to pick was growing on the edge of a cliff at the side of the mountain forest. The kid was small, his arms weren’t long enough, so he had to lean his body way out.

An eight-year-old doesn’t have a strong sense of danger. By the time Summer looked over, half of Joy’s little body was already hanging over the cliff.

Summer was terrified. Without thinking, she bolted toward him.

The other staff were also rushing in Joy’s direction, but before they could reach him, Joy leaned his body out even farther—

And then his body dropped straight down over the cliff.

Summer’s face went chalk white with shock. There was no time to think about anything else; she lunged toward Joy and, just before he fell, managed to grab his hand.

She tried to haul him back up, but she probably didn’t even realize how much of her own body was hanging out over the cliff by then.

Summer didn’t get a firm hold on Joy’s hand and ended up falling down with him.

"Ah!" A shrill, panicked scream from the little boy echoed up from below the cliff, so loud it seemed to shake the entire forested mountainside.

At that moment, Watt Bennet happened to be on his way over. Hearing that piercing sound, his heart went half cold.

The voice wasn’t Summer’s, but any time he heard there was danger somewhere, his first instinctive thought was still whether Summer was safe right now.

Without further thought, Watt took off at a run in the direction where Summer was.

When he arrived, all the show’s staff were milling around the cliff edge in a panic.

"What do we do? What do we do?"

Joy was on the show with a male celebrity. That actor, who was supposed to be taking care of him, was so anxious he’d completely lost his head, sitting off to the side with his face buried in his hands in regret.

Watt swept a cold gaze over the group. His eyes roved over every face at the scene one by one, and when he didn’t see any sign of Summer, his heart sank halfway into an abyss.

"Where is she?" he asked hoarsely.

The staff were intimidated by his look and didn’t quite dare to answer.

"Where is she?" Watt roared furiously at the group.

Someone with a slightly bigger nerve pointed down over the cliff.

Watt’s head gave a dull "thud," like he’d been clubbed with something.

Staring at the group in shock, he looked as if he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He stood there dumbly for a long moment before he finally snapped back to himself.
