Chapter 91: Chapter 91: Leaving the Island Early, Boss, Help Me

The system’s sudden notification jolted Faye Yardley.

’A great place to increase my Attributes!’

’Then getting beaten to a pulp is nothing.’

’Train!’

’Train harder!’

At that moment, Faye Yardley became obsessed with the training room.

She’d get beaten black and blue, enter the treatment room, heal up, and then immediately start training again.

She only stopped for half an hour in between to eat and replenish her energy.

Eamon didn’t find it boring waiting in the lounge area. He just had to admit that Faye was pushing herself incredibly hard. Who could endure the feeling of being repeatedly run over by a truck, yet still charge back in time and time again?

[Constitution +2]

[Spirit +1]

There wasn’t an uninjured spot on her body, and she was covered in a sticky mixture of sweat and blood. But upon hearing the system notification, Faye Yardley was still overjoyed.

’The suffering wasn’t for nothing.’

However, this special training room couldn’t be used indefinitely. The effect was best the first time, and afterward, it could only be used once every ten days.

’Serenia must really like the number ten.’

Coming out of the treatment room, she was as good as new.

By the time she left the fighting gym, most of the day was already gone.

"Eamon, thank you for bringing me here."

Faye Yardley thought, ’If I hadn’t come, I never would have known how weak I am.’

"Hehe, I’m just glad you like it, Faye."

As the two walked toward the docks, they noticed the city’s pedestrians were suddenly no longer so leisurely. It seemed like every single person was sprinting in one direction—toward the port.

Faye Yardley pulled Eamon close to the side of the road to avoid being bumped into. The runners’ expressions were all filled with excitement.

"What’s going on?"

"The GHA is picking people."

"Hurry, hurry! I heard it’s a New World! There’s bound to be a lot of good stuff."

"Don’t block me! Move, move!"

Fortunately, the direction of their raft was different from where the registration was taking place.

After navigating through the frenzied crowd, Faye Yardley returned to her raft.

"System, leave Port Serenia."

[Friendly Reminder: You have 44 hours, 25 minutes, and 48 seconds of your allotted time on the island remaining. This time cannot be saved if you leave. Are you sure you wish to depart?]

"Yes."

The moment she confirmed, the raft slowly started to move, pulling away from a cluster of variously moored boats.

Watching the continuing madness on the docks, Faye Yardley had a bad feeling.

’The New World they’re signing up for... it couldn’t be The Survival World I’m in, could it?’

Combined with what she’d overheard during dinner yesterday—a new world of endless ocean—it was hard for her not to make the connection.

’Is there a world newer than the one I’m in right now?’

They had only been in The Survival World for a mere 17 days.

Thinking of this, Faye Yardley couldn’t help but sigh. "It’s only been 17 days? I thought it had been much longer."

Willow Yardley looked at Eamon. "What’s wrong with Faye?"

"I don’t know."

The raft moved farther and farther away until everything was shrouded in a thick fog. Half an hour later, the raft passed through a thin layer of mist and returned to the vast, open sea.

The rise in temperature had melted the ice on the sea’s surface. Now, large and small chunks of ice could be seen bobbing in the waves all around the raft.

"Faye, look! There’s a treasure chest next to that big chunk of ice," Eamon said excitedly, pointing ahead.

Faye Yardley pushed aside her complex thoughts, took out her fishing rod, and cast it toward the chest. Soon, a Wooden Treasure Chest was reeled in.

"I haven’t opened a chest in a while; I’m actually looking forward to it. I’m taking this back to the cabin. You guys can fish."

Faye Yardley handed the fishing rod to Willow Yardley, stored the chest in her backpack, and went back to the small building.

Back in her room, she took a shower and changed her clothes before taking out the treasure chest and muttering a few words as she opened it.

[You have obtained: Mineral Water x10, Ice Cream x2, Edible Ice Cubes x5, Fireplace Heat Shield x1]

Your Talent, Double Good Luck, has been triggered. All items obtained have been doubled.

"Just as I thought. The raft must have a heat source. If anyone thinks they don’t need a fire just because the weather is warming up, they’re definitely going to suffer for it."

A single raft only needs one continuous heat source. So, if she used a fireplace heat shield, Eamon’s fireplace could be extinguished to save fuel.

She’d give another one to her brother. As for everyone else, it wasn’t her business.

’I’ll let my brother handle the ice-making business, too.’

Ice made from seawater could only be used for cooling, not for consumption.

Although Faye Yardley didn’t have a clear plan for her raft, she had never even considered building things like an automated production workshop.

She hadn’t thought about farming or animal husbandry, either.

She packed up the items, sent them to her brother, and left a message: "You’re in charge of my ice supply from now on."

She didn’t mind that he didn’t reply immediately.

After all, the ocean was thawing and treasure chests were appearing. Those who wanted to be busy would certainly have plenty to do.

She went to the small balcony, lay down on the sofa, and opened the regional chat channel.

[To the person above, you’re not alone. I’m showing signs of mild poisoning, too. Looks like the water from the bathroom really can’t be drunk. It’s only good for showering, washing hands, and mopping the floor.]

[Selling Pure Water! If you want to live a healthy life, you can go to the trading market and search my name to buy some.]

[Between dying of thirst and mild poisoning, I’d rather choose the latter.]

[You guys have time to talk nonsense? Go fish for treasure chests!]

[I just got a heat shield from a chest. What’s this for? It’s getting warmer. Is anyone still spending resources to use fireplaces or Fire Pits?]

[Did you all forget the system’s initial warning? The ocean is dangerous at night. Fire provides warmth and safety. So you can’t let the fire go out, especially at night. Otherwise, why would they give us these heat shields?]

Faye Yardley read this and chuckled. ’Looks like there are a lot of smart people out there,’ she thought. ’And it seems like a lot of heat shields are dropping, too.’

After a moment’s thought, she posted a reminder in her small group chat.

Faye Yardley: Don’t extinguish your fires just to save a few resources. If you haven’t found a heat shield yet, you can go to the trading market and buy one.

Bonnie Callahan: Hon, you’re finally online! Thanks for the reminder, sweetie. I already got one.

Wade Warren: Group Leader, could you add one more bottle to our daily Pure Water trade?

Bonnie Callahan: Wow, Mr. Warren is so sly, setting up a secret fixed trade.

Kyle Lewis: Miss Yardley, can you sell me some Pure Water? Also, could you help me make a few more Blood Replenishing Agents?

Faye Yardley: I can do both. By the way, Kyle Lewis, have you found your mother?

Kyle Lewis: I found her after the server merge. Thank you for asking, Miss Yardley. She’s just not near me. I don’t know when we’ll be able to meet.

Seeing Kyle Lewis’s message, Leo Sloan felt envious. He still hadn’t found his wife. She was probably in a zone after 105.

If she were in one of the earlier zones, they wouldn’t have been that far apart, so how could they not have found each other after 30 zones merged?

He subconsciously ignored the possibility that his wife might already be dead.

’It doesn’t make sense that other people are lucky enough to find their loved ones, but I can’t.’

Faye Yardley then added: A reminder for everyone—train your bodies as much as you can, stock up on wood, and buy a suitable weapon. The next event might not be far off.

She simultaneously forwarded this message to her brother and Zachary Pierce. They might not check the group chat, but they would definitely see a direct message.

Wade Warren: Group Leader, do you have inside information? Can you give us the details?

Faye Yardley: Where would I get inside information? It’s just never wrong to be prepared.

Gavin Donovan: Boss, help!
