Chapter 42: Chapter 42: Brother, It’s Really You

"Yardley, watch the time. Pick what you want most first and get it exchanged. For everything else, just grab what looks good," Zachary Pierce managed to remind Faye Yardley.

Staring at the virtual screen in front of her, Faye Yardley answered without turning her head, "Okay, I know. Thanks for the reminder, Mr. Pierce."

’There are way too many Basic Skills. It’s really not easy to find a suitable one, and there’s no advanced search function. The system must be doing this on purpose to screw people over.’

However, Faye Yardley’s Double Good Luck Talent and her super-high Luck Value came into play at this moment. Before long, she saw *Basic Martial Arts Skills*. It was clearly a foundational text. Without a doubt, she tried to buy two copies, but the system showed that each person could only buy one.

"Donovan, do you still have a thousand points?"

"I do. What do you need, Boss?"

"Help me buy a Skill Book called *Basic Martial Arts Skills*. It’s one thousand points. Tell me what you need, and I’ll buy something to trade with you."

Gavin Donovan said in pleasant surprise, "Oh, there are Skill Books? Boss, can you find me one for learning to swim?"

"Okay."

’She had seen the swimming skill earlier. Faye Yardley didn’t need it, so it was perfect to buy it and trade with Gavin Donovan.’

Zachary Pierce and the other two naturally heard their conversation as well. There were things they wanted to learn, too, but their points were mainly for serving the group.

Of course, they had also set aside a portion to improve their own strength.

If their own strength was insufficient, the group wouldn’t be able to develop either.

Faye Yardley also selected two more books: *Basic Shooting Skill* and *Basic Dagger Use Technique*.

’She put them all directly into her backpack. After all, now wasn’t a good time to study.’

An Intermediate Wooden House Upgrade Coupon was only 500 points. She exchanged for two of them, and also one Basic Wood House Upgrade Voucher.

’If her brother already had one, she wouldn’t lose out by selling it later.’

She glanced at the weapons section but didn’t see anything that particularly caught her eye, so Faye Yardley didn’t exchange for any.

’She still had 5,480 points. She figured she could improve her living conditions a bit.’

’She exchanged 500 points for a High Level Comfortable Wooden Bed Blueprint. Just one for herself would be enough. Her brother was tough; he probably wouldn’t care.’

’A Backpack Expansion × 10 Diagrams actually cost a thousand points, while a single Space Stone was only 100 points.’

’Two Backpack Diagrams and five Space Stones it is. She already had two Space Stones in her storage, but who would complain about having too many?’

She spent 1,480 points on basic materials like iron blocks, coal, charcoal, Oil, and stones. With the remaining 1,000 points, Faye Yardley thought for a moment and decided she could buy some clothes and shoes for all seasons.

’Although they might encounter a cold snap after leaving the Dungeon, she also had to prepare a little for hot weather.’

For regular clothing, the required points were very low—you could basically buy an item for 10 points. Of course, outfits with special effects cost a lot more; she didn’t see any for less than 100 points.

So she spent 200 points on regular clothes like flat sandals, sneakers, short-sleeved T-shirts, long-sleeved T-shirts, quick-dry pants, and jeans. She then spent another 400 points on two sets of thermal outfits (including shoes). The description said they could keep you warm in temperatures as low as minus thirty degrees Celsius.

After buying all this, she suddenly remembered she was still missing a robot that could take care of her and do chores on the raft.

She searched for the price and realized she’d been presumptuous. Even the simplest housekeeping robot cost 50,000 points.

’She should probably think of something else for her remaining 400 points.’

Faye Yardley casually scrolled through the items in the Point Shop. As she browsed, she discovered an item.

Special Fishing Rod (300 points): It can always fish up something unexpected. Perhaps you’ll need it.

No question. She redeemed it immediately.

She still had a final 100 points left, and time had unknowingly dwindled to the last five minutes.

After struggling for a moment, Gavin Donovan looked at Faye Yardley and asked, "Boss, I think I’ve gotten everything I need. I still have 350 points left. What do you think I should get?"

Faye Yardley let out a sound of realization. "Ah," she said. "Did you get any wood? You’ll need wood to upgrade or repair the raft later."

Gavin Donovan’s question made up Faye Yardley’s mind. She decided to use her remaining 100 points to pick out the cheapest outfit that could provide a cooling sensation.

"Oh, I got the wood already. I also exchanged for a lot of other materials, plus food and drinks."

"In that case, why don’t you search for fishing rods? There’s a Special Fishing Rod among them; see if you need it. It’s also a good idea to use the remaining 50 points to get yourself a few pieces of regular clothing and shoes."

"Okay, thank you, Boss."

’After finishing her exchanges, Faye Yardley felt a sense of relief. As expected, spending money makes people happy, and the same goes for spending points.’

The others also finished their exchanges before time was up.

When it was time to part, Faye Yardley said, "Well then, everyone, see you again if fate allows."

"See you again if fate allows," came four replies.

Upon exiting the Dungeon, she was instantly back in the Wooden House on her raft.

Faye Yardley thought for a moment, then decided to take a shower first. She changed into some loungewear and lay down on the sofa, feeling clean and refreshed, before she finally began to take stock of her total earnings from this Dungeon trip.

"System, open the regional channel as well."

As soon as the regional channel appeared, several golden, pinned, server-wide announcements came into Faye Yardley’s view, and her eyes immediately lit up.

’Ethan Yardley, who cleared Dungeon 5 solo... that has to be my brother.’

Faye Yardley naturally saw the announcement for her own squad’s clear as well, but that wasn’t important. She took out the cross-regional fixed communication device she had just redeemed and chose to use it.

She entered the name "Ethan Yardley," and over a hundred people with the same name appeared.

Fortunately, there were real personal avatars, so Faye Yardley quickly found her own brother and selected "confirm as fixed contact."

The system actually prompted her to wait a moment, which left Faye Yardley a bit baffled. ’What’s going on? Is this a counterfeit product?’

Meanwhile, in Area 73, Ethan Yardley had just exited the Dungeon when he received a system notification: [Dear player Ethan Yardley, player Faye Yardley is attempting to establish a connection with you. Do you agree to the connection request?]

Hearing his sister’s name, Ethan Yardley didn’t think twice and selected "agree." fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com

[Cross-regional fixed communication device connection established. It can be used normally. Please select a location to place the device.]

Ethan Yardley chose to install it directly on the wall by the entrance.

Faye Yardley, on the other hand, chose to place it on the coffee table.

After they both made their choices, a silver-white, palm-sized video phone materialized out of thin air in front of them.

Picking up the phone, Faye Yardley immediately hit dial. The other end connected in less than a second.

"Brother! I can really see you! This is great, you’re okay!"

Faye Yardley’s excitement was palpable. Seeing her smiling face, the exhaustion from the Dungeon Ethan Yardley had just experienced dissipated considerably. "Faye, don’t be afraid. I’ll work hard to make sure you can live here just as well as you did before."

Faye Yardley was a bit baffled. ’It’s a video call, isn’t it? Do I really look that bad?’

"Brother, I’m doing great. You don’t have to worry."
