Chapter 132: Chapter 132: A Slightly Magical Frozen Person
Special fishing rods weren’t supposed to catch living things. Faye Yardley had accepted this as a rule, but what was this situation?
Faye Yardley stared at the human-shaped ice sculpture lying in the thatched shelter. ’Is he dead, or just frozen solid?’
If he was dead, what was she supposed to do with a corpse? Store it in her warehouse?
"Willow, take a look. Does he have any signs of life? Or is he just a statue?"
Willow Yardley scanned him and then said, "All his internal organs are intact, but there’s no heartbeat, his blood isn’t circulating, and he has no consciousness."
"So he’s just a frozen person. What should we do now? Throw him back into the sea?" Faye Yardley had never imagined she’d fish up a person one day.
She had been caught and pulled up by Leo Sloan’s fishing line before, but this was a different situation, right?
Of course, she wasn’t entirely sure. The whole thing just had her feeling flustered. frёewebηovel.cѳm
Willow Yardley didn’t care either way. If they threw him out, they threw him out.
As it turned out, the man inside the ice sculpture seemed to be able to hear the outside world. When he heard they were going to throw him back into the sea, he grew anxious, but he couldn’t speak or move. He was completely helpless.
"Sister, he had a momentary fluctuation. He probably doesn’t want to be thrown back into the sea."
"Then what? What if he’s a bad guy? The sun is scorching right now. Drag him out of the shelter. Maybe the ice will melt if he gets some sun."
Faye Yardley felt relatively safe on her own raft. If he had ill intentions, she could just banish him from it.
"Okay, Sister."
To be honest, Faye’s enthusiasm for fishing up chests had already waned. Still, she suppressed her curiosity, deciding she had to catch at least two more chests to complete her daily routine. frёewebnoѵēl.com
She had to at least meet her average.
Fortunately, getting two chests didn’t take much time. She completed her goal a little over an hour later.
Approaching the ice sculpture outside the shelter, she looked it over. "Hey, who are you? Do you need me to flip you over? That way you’ll get an even tan, right?"
As she spoke, Faye Yardley really did flip him over, leaving him face-down on the ground.
"How strange. What kind of ice is this on you? It’s not that cold, but it’s very resistant to high temperatures."
It turned out she was just ignorant; she’d never seen anything like it before.
"You take your time sunbathing. It’s too hot out here for me. I can’t stand it. See ya."
With that, Faye Yardley walked briskly toward the training room on the other side.
Three hours and a lot of sweat later, Faye came back to check on the sunbathing ice sculpture before heading indoors. There was a faint puddle of water beneath him.
"Are you starting to melt? How come you’ve only melted a tiny bit after all this time? Well, just keep on sunbathing."
Feeling a little tired, Faye Yardley went back, took a shower, and changed into some fresh clothes.
It was now noon.
She had used up a lot of energy, so she decided to go downstairs and eat something before taking a Body Refining Pill.
She had already taken three before reaching the Intermediate level. The effects would be diminished now, but there should still be some, right?
’I’m not sure, but it’s worth a try.’
While gnawing on a pork knuckle, Faye Yardley suddenly thought about seasonings. "Willow, did we get all our spices from the trading market?"
"Yes. The ones you got from chests before were used up long ago."
"Ah, I should have redeemed some crafting blueprints for basic materials like salt and sugar. Look at me, I completely forgot about something so important."
Willow Yardley smiled faintly. "You can’t think of everything by yourself, Sister. But you could ask Zachary Pierce and Eleanor Jonas. They might have specifically redeemed some."
"Good point. I’ll ask them."
Faye Yardley then sent private messages to both Zachary Pierce and Eleanor Jonas.
Eleanor Jonas replied quickly: *No blueprints, but I have salt and sugar in stock. If you need them, we can use them to pay part of your dividend.*
Faye Yardley immediately replied: *(*^▽^*)* *Okay, thank you, Miss Jonas. Let’s use the seasonings to offset part of the dividend.*
Soon, Faye Yardley received a Red Envelope with the seasonings from Eleanor Jonas, along with a production and sales report for sanitary napkins from the start of production in June to the present.
Because they were essentially selling the sanitary napkins as a public good for women, the strategy was low-profit, high-volume. Even so, the amount that ended up in her hands was still considerable.
Faye Yardley was willing to use this portion of her dividend to cover the cost of the seasonings. After all, what Eleanor Jonas gave her wasn’t just a single portion; it was more than enough to supply a whole team.
Clearly, Eleanor had been thoughtful enough to include Faye’s brother’s team in her calculations.
Faye Yardley then sent another message to Zachary Pierce, telling him she’d reached an agreement with Eleanor Jonas and no longer needed the salt or sugar blueprints.
The saying "there’s strength in numbers" really made sense. Someone was always bound to have a higher Luck Value and pull something different.
If one person couldn’t do it, what about ten? A hundred? A thousand...?
See? Something she hadn’t even thought of, others were already producing and selling.
"Did you get it sorted out, Sister?"
"Yes. Miss Jonas will trade with you later. Keep what we need for ourselves and give the rest to my brother."
"Okay."
As she savored the pork knuckle, Faye Yardley thought about the livestock room on Logan Langdon’s raft and found herself feeling a bit envious.
Although she still thought a livestock room would be smelly, she could totally make her brother raise the animals while she handled the vegetables. Wouldn’t that be perfect?
She wouldn’t have to deal with the smell, but she’d still get to eat the meat. What a sweet deal that would be.
As soon as she thought of it, she left a message for her brother, telling him to build a livestock room on his raft if possible. That way, any animals she got from chests could be sent directly to him to raise.
She had no idea how the ducks and chickens she sent him before were doing. There had been no news. They might have already kicked the bucket. She could only wait on Zachary Pierce’s end now.
Full and satisfied, she went outside again to check on the block of ice, not forgetting to flip him over again to ensure he heated evenly.
The outside temperature was extremely high, definitely over 50°C, and the surface temperature would be even higher. Yet, despite this, the ice sculpture had barely changed, aside from melting a tiny bit of water.
’How magical.’
She poked the ice with her finger. It wasn’t rock-solid as she’d imagined. Instead, when she pushed hard, her finger could feel that the ice sculpture was springy and pliant. But with a light touch, it felt hard as a rock.
"What on earth are you? Is this the work of an Ice Ability?"
’Whatever. I should go back and open those two Wooden Treasure Chests.’
Opening treasure chests locked in her room had become a habit for Faye Yardley.
She put her hands together in front of the chests and recited her familiar Spell.
"Open!"

’A large toy car?’
Faye Yardley curiously took one out. It really was huge—a cool, two-seater supercar model that an adult like her could actually sit in and drive.
’I can’t possibly use this on my raft... or could this be related to the next event?’
