Chapter 127: Chapter 127: Entering the Dungeon, a Ruthless Killing Machine
After hanging up, Faye Yardley began preparing for tomorrow’s dungeon run.
After getting the basic medical supplies ready, Faye Yardley saw the Blood Replenishing Potions and immediately tagged Kyle Lewis in their small group chat. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
Faye Yardley: @Kyle Lewis, do you have any red dates and Shannon White? I’d like to buy a batch. I can also pay you with finished Blood Replenishing Potions.
Kyle Lewis: Miss Yardley, I have some. I’ll send them via a designated Red Envelope.
Faye Yardley: Thanks, I’ll send them to you in a moment.
She left her room and went downstairs to the workbench in the corner of the living room. She immediately loaded the materials for the Blood Replenishing Potions and began crafting. She made eight vials in total, giving half to Kyle Lewis and the other half to her brother.
’You can’t just stop the bleeding. When you’ve lost a lot of blood, you need to replenish it.’
"Sister, dinner is ready."
"Okay. What has Eamon been up to these past couple of days? How much longer until the next batch of grain can be harvested? It’s been a week since we planted the glutinous rice, right? Is it still not ready?"
Willow Yardley answered each question in turn. "Eamon has been busy taking care of the plants. He keeps planting more, so he has less and less free time. The wheat, regular rice, and glutinous rice should all be ready for harvest tomorrow or the day after."
"Okay, thank you for your hard work. If you need anything, just let me know."
Willow Yardley said, "It’s no trouble. It’s what we’re supposed to be doing."
"By the way, Willow, is our red date tree bearing fruit yet?"
"Not yet. It’ll probably be another ten days or so before it bears fruit."
Faye Yardley wasn’t disappointed. After all, a normal tree would take at least five years after planting to bear fruit. There was no telling how much that time had been sped up here. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
’I need to keep a close eye out for medicinal herb seeds in the dungeon this time. I could plant things like Shannon White, astragalus, or ginseng. It’s best to be self-sufficient when it comes to ingredients for my own recipes.’
She had already bought some grain and vegetables before.
Faye Yardley didn’t ask Willow Yardley to help her look after the Blue Bird Egg and the Magic Seed. Neither of them could be handled by another person anyway. She would only be gone for a few days; they probably wouldn’t die in that time.
’If they die, then it just wasn’t meant to be.’
After dinner, Faye Yardley said, "Willow, please prepare some extra fruit juice and small rice balls for me."
"Of course, Sister. Are you preparing to enter a dungeon?"
"Mhm."
She took a brief rest after her meal, then rushed back into the training room. Three hours later, she emerged, completely exhausted. She took a quick shower, drank a glass of warm milk, and slept soundly until dawn.
This time, she didn’t go back to the training room. Instead, after some simple warm-up exercises, she took out the Dungeon 1 Invitation Card and confirmed its use.
In the blink of an eye, Faye Yardley’s surroundings changed completely. A thick, putrid stench filled the air.
She scanned her surroundings and found herself in another small, enclosed space. From beyond the door came the gurgling groans of zombies.
’They’re very close, probably right outside the door.’
It was another windowless, enclosed space. The spawn point in a dungeon could always be considered a temporary safe zone.
This time, Faye Yardley didn’t rush out. Instead, she carefully searched the small, seemingly empty room.
She knocked on the walls, stomped on the floor, and jumped up to touch the ceiling.
After a few more attempts, she managed to knock a ceiling panel loose. With a light leap, she grabbed onto the edge above and hauled herself up.
’The system’s attitude toward humans is truly unpredictable,’ she thought. ’Who would’ve guessed the armory was in the ceiling?’
After clearing out all the weapons and ammunition, Faye Yardley took out a flashlight and swept its beam into every nook and cranny.
Once she confirmed nothing was left behind and that there were no other openings like ventilation shafts, she leaped down from the ceiling. Taking a deep breath, she kicked the door open, raised her machine gun, and unleashed a hail of bullets.
There weren’t just one or two zombies outside the door, but a whole horde of them.
’The system is starting to get unreasonable.’
She immediately tossed a bomb to her left.
BOOM!
The entire floor shook.
Faye Yardley, already prepared for this, swapped her machine gun for Light Wound amidst the smoke and dust and charged straight into the fray.
With her Title already suppressing the zombies, Faye Yardley transformed into a ruthless killing machine.
She relentlessly harvested the zombies, turning them all into points.
Only after fighting for some time did she realize she was in a second-floor cafeteria.
She had destroyed the staircase herself with the explosion.
It would be easy for her to get down, but it would be quite difficult for the zombies to get up.
She circled the gap in the floor, in no hurry to descend.
She was calculating the potential impact of throwing a bomb downward, wondering if it would cause the seemingly mediocre-quality second floor to collapse completely.
ROAR!
SWOOSH~
Faye Yardley dropped and rolled, dodging a sneak attack from behind.
’Hmph!’
’So they’ve learned to launch sneak attacks now.’
’How shameless!’
Indignant, Faye Yardley raised her left arm and fired three Crossbow Arrows in quick succession.
The zombie roared and leaped at Faye Yardley, pouncing to kill.
With a stomp of her foot, Light Wound materialized in her hand as she charged to meet the zombie head-on.
Cleave, hack, slash!
A zombie of this level couldn’t possibly withstand Light Wound with its hide and bones alone. Very quickly, the zombie was dismembered, though not yet dead.
Faye Yardley walked over to its head, Light Wound in hand, and plunged the blade straight through its skull. The Soul Fire was instantly extinguished.
"You all must follow Captain Gavin Donovan’s orders. Don’t get arrogant."
"Don’t worry, Boss. If we didn’t respect Donovan, we wouldn’t have agreed to team up with him. Dungeons are a matter of life and death. We’re all teammates; we won’t hold anyone back."
"That’s right."
Gavin Donovan also smiled and said, "We’ll be fine, Boss. We’ve got everything ready. We’ll head out ahead of you all."
With that, he looked at his teammates. After they exchanged a confirming glance, he tapped and used the Dungeon 3 Invitation Card.
After the five of them disappeared, the others looked at Ethan Yardley with eyes full of anticipation. Everyone was eager to be among the team’s first wave of trailblazers.
Ethan Yardley paid them no mind and directly picked out four people. "Alright, the rest of you, don’t forget to fish for treasure boxes. Any Iron Treasure Boxes you fish up, save them for when I get back. Don’t open them without my permission. The training room is always open, so don’t waste your time."
Then he turned to the four he had selected. "Everyone, double-check your bags. Medicine, food, and water are essential. We might get separated, so we absolutely cannot be short on these supplies."
"Yes, Boss."
"Everything’s ready. Don’t worry."
"Then we’re heading out, too."
After watching ten people leave, the four who remained looked at one another. They unanimously decided to fish for treasure boxes first and head to the training room after 6 o’clock.
They chatted idly while fishing for treasure boxes. "When is our team going to expand? A lot of people have applied, but the Boss keeps saying we have to wait. Do you guys know what for?"
"If more people join, you’ll just get squeezed out. Are you really hoping for more people to join?"
"Ha, you can always get stronger. It’s not like every newcomer is going to be a powerhouse like Gavin Donovan, right?"
"Never mind that. Watch my rod for a bit, I’m going to go train."
"I’m already watching three rods by myself, and you want me to watch yours too?"
"I’ll switch with you when I’m done training."
"Fine."
