Chapter 92: Mistake 12
Even in her weakened state, she was happier seeing him healed than worrying about herself.
But deep inside, Sharky knew, this wasn’t over. He needed to find a way to heal her completely. He needed to find a permanent solution.
And he would. No matter what it took.
"Yes," Sharky nodded, "Now Zerry, you drink it quickly. It allows Zerry to live until the day that you marry me, you will also make a complete recovery, being able to always stay with me, until the day we grow old and leave."
"Un!!" Zyrenna agreed with the most determined voice, bringing up her husband’s hand, opening her lips, allowing the cold liquid to fall through her teeth drop by drop.
As the last drop of the Elixir of Life tilted into her mouth, Zyreena gently closed her lips, swallowing the bitter liquid.
Her delicate throat moved slightly as she gulped it down, the cool sensation spreading through her weak body.
And then, slowly, she opened her eyes.
Her lips curved into the loveliest smile, a smile filled with warmth, love, and quiet relief.
"Drinking it down... I really recovered? I won’t need to leave my husband?"
A deep emotion surged in her heart.
"Is it that even heaven is unable to bear separating me and my husband?"
She wasn’t afraid of dying. She had accepted that possibility long ago.
But what truly terrified her... was a world without her husband.
A world where she was gone, and he was left alone, drowning in pain and loneliness.
For years, her husband had done nothing but stay by her side.
He had given up so many things. So many things.
His dreams. His desires.
Everything that he once wanted to achieve, all of it had been cast aside.
And for what?
For her.
To keep her company, to ensure she never felt abandoned, to sacrifice everything just so she could live a little longer.
"My husband’s kindness... I could never return it, not even in my entire life."
Her heart ached.
If she truly recovered, if she was given a second chance at life, then there would only be one purpose for her existence.
"Until the day I die... I will live for my husband alone."
Helping him with whatever he wanted to do.
Even if, one day, her husband became a hated figure, despised by the world, ridiculed by everyone, she would never leave his side.
"Even if my husband is hated by the entire world, I will always stand beside him... forever."
She would never leave him.
Because he was the only reason she had been able to endure until now.
And after today...
He would continue to be the only reason she lived. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
Sharky never took his eyes off her as she drank the medicine.
Not once.
He watched silently, his heart aching with a mix of relief and helplessness.
Once she was done, he gently took the empty bottle from her hands, setting it aside.
Then, without hesitation, he placed his hands on her delicate shoulders, his voice filled with concern.
"Zerry, do you feel anything? Do you have any kind of special sensation?" he asked.
Zyreena smiled softly.
"Husband, it’s the same as usual," she replied gently.
Sharky’s lips tightened for a moment before he sighed.
"Lie down first," he said. "What you need most right now is rest. Who knows? Maybe when you wake up, you’ll already be able to get down from the bed yourself and walk."
As he spoke, he carefully laid her back down, pulling up the covers to tuck her in.
Zyreena gazed up at him, her eyes filled with trust and love.
"Definitely!" she said with a bright, hopeful smile.
For a brief moment, it felt like things were normal again.
Like they weren’t surrounded by suffering and tragedy.
But then...
Her expression turned serious. She hesitated for a moment before softly asking:
"But husband... if one day, I really die... can you marry Zeynab?"
Sharky’s eyes widened. His heart stopped.
"Don’t say that," he whispered, pressing his finger gently against her lips, silencing her.
He refused to even entertain the thought. He did not want her to die.
And since he was Sharky Valor, he would find a way to make sure she survived. No matter what.
Zyreena, however, looked at him with sadness.
She knew his determination, his refusal to give up. But she also knew reality. Her voice was soft but unwavering.
"Husband, I know you don’t want me to die. And I don’t want to die either," she admitted.
"But... if it happens... then I don’t want to leave you alone."
Her fingers trembled as she reached out, grasping his hand gently.
"I want you to marry Zeynab," she whispered.
Her beautiful amber eyes filled with emotion.
"She has waited so long for you."
A small, bitter smile formed on her lips.
"She loves you, husband. I know it. And I know... that she would take care of you, even after I’m gone."
Her words stabbed into Sharky’s heart like a blade.
But even so, he refused to accept them.
Sharky didn’t reply to her, instead he hugged her.
"If you die, I will burn this world. I will take revenge from everyone, whoever betrayed us, attack us, and make you fall into grave danger."
Hearing it, Zyrenna became a little shocked, because before today, she had not heard her husband talking about taking revenge.
But she feels happy hearing it, and sighed with relief.
She knew that she would not be able to live more than a few years, even with the Elixir of Life. Because, after taking many doses of Elixir of Life, its effects were waning slowly. frёewebnoѵēl.com
"Ok, Zyrenna, take a rest." Sharky said, and then he appeared outside of his tree mansion.
He looked towards the people of his tribe, and surroundings.
Most of the tribe’s people were weakened. Most of the survivors are elderly, children, or wounded warriors who barely escaped the massacre. Many suffer from malnutrition, unable to hunt or farm due to the land’s corruption.
The once-sacred elven trees, which held centuries of magic, have been reduced to scorched stumps, they have burnt badly. Without them, the elves struggle to maintain their connection to nature.
The once-beautiful tree dwellings and intricate elven architecture are now piles of ash and rubble. Only a few structures remain standing, making shelter scarce.
The demons’ taint has poisoned the rivers and soil, making food and clean water difficult to obtain. The elves who try to purify it often fall sick, their magic unable to counteract the corruption.
The demons may return, knowing that the elves are too weak to fight back. Many survivors live in fear, unsure if their suffering will ever end.
"Everyone hear it," Sharky shouted. And soon the little tribe people gathered around him together.
They didn’t know what his leader was going to say.
This was the first time, till he became gravely injured, was going to say something.
"I have bear so much, you have bear so much. But now, this suffering will end."
"We will reclaim everything we have lost. We will defeat the demon, and take revenge for their attack. We will kill the betrayed, who have betrayed our trust."
Hearing it, the young Elves feel an igniting passion inside them.
But the injured and elderly people didn’t react so much. They thought this was just the hope of their young leader, and it will not become reality.
"I know most of you will not believe me, and most of you are still doubting how I will achieve it."
"So, experience it from your eyes," Sharky shouted.
And then he threw some seeds on the ground, which just appeared from inside of his body.
When the seeds went inside the ground, the curse of land started breaking apart. And the ground fertility started coming back to life.
The rivers started purifying.
The broken and burnt tree vanished, in place of them, newly green and lush trees started appearing. Fill with many different types of fruits and eatable things.
Seeing it, the Elves became so much shocked, all of them kneeled down, and started cheering for Sharky.
"Long Live Sharky Moonshade. Long Live Sharky Moonshade."
Now, every Elves started feeling that their lives will turn back for good. And they will live happily.
Seeing that everyone became happy, he smiled and was going to repair their broken houses.
But before he did, a system voice appeared inside of him. But it was different from the Ultivalortrix’s tone.
"You have achieved something beyond."
’You have reawaken the hopes inside the Elves."
"You have gained 1M Exp points."
"Your level is increasing."
"You have reached Level 14."
"Quest system is created."
"The immortal will enter soon, and you need to give quests to them."
"Also prepared some rewards for them."
"Affinity points have been unlocked."
"In two months, the immortal will appear here."
"What is that?" Sharky was shocked by the upcoming notification in head.
