Chapter 68: Chapter 62: The Divine Demonic Cult 1

They talked a little more and then they were free to do what they wanted. Zeke talked with Yonggi for a little while. Then he and the trio gathered in a tent and straightened their stories for the future. They wanted to talk more but they wanted to sleep more. Zeke had a feeling that the next day was going to be exhausting.

They soon went to sleep. The next morning, they woke up in a room. Only, it wasn’t morning but afternoon, and it wasn’t the tent they fell asleep in. Zeke immediately understood what was going on. They had been knocked out. Again. But it wasn’t any of the instructors, because even the head instructor was only a Higher Demon. Albeit he was at the peak of that realm, he wouldn’t have been able to knock him out for this long with just acupoints.

No, this was the work of someone much stronger. A Supreme Demon at the least. His body would simply reject any internal qi that was weaker than that. But he wasn’t angry this time.

That mountain was a treasure trove and it made sense that Cult didn’t want anyone to know its location. He wouldn’t be surprised if even the instructors were knocked out cold and then transported to the location.

He examined his body to ensure that nothing was wrong with it. While he was doing that, his teammates also started waking up. They also started examining their bodies. Soon, all of the trainees had woken up. After another fifteen passed, the door to the room opened and the head instructor entered. He said, "I hope you all had a good night’s sleep."

The trainees didn’t reply and just stared at him. His expression became cold and he said, "I didn’t hear a reply."

The trainees all replied at the same time, "Yes Sir."

He said, "Good. Team 2, follow the instructor outside."

He then looked at the remaining four and said, "You all, follow me."

They followed him to a training room. He said, "I will fight you all one by one to gauge your current abilities and assign you a rank based on your strength."

Then he sparred with all of them. First was Woong. He had become much more proficient in wielding his warhammer. It seemed as if the hammer was as light as a feather in his hands. Then it was Bum’s turn. He mainly used Tiger Step as his movement technique.

It just felt different when he was using it. But that was nothing compared to when he attacked with his battle ax. It was as if he had turned into another being as soon as he held the ax. Zeke could definitely see him as the protagonist of an Eastern Fantasy, screaming the words, ’I will split the heavens.’ freewebnøvel.com

[Shut up.]

(I didn’t say anything.)

Woo seemed to have infinite endurance and speed. Her strategy was to inflict minor wounds at great speeds. Even minor wounds could be fatal when inflicted in a high enough quantity.

Finally, it was Zeke’s turn. He and the head instructor stared at each other for a second before he rushed towards the man. His tactic was a bit similar to Woo, inflicting wounds at high speeds. The difference lay in the fact that wounds that he was inflicting weren’t minor.

Whereas Woo was piercing, he was slashing. And that he didn’t stop attacking at all. The head instructor was using a staff. Whenever he defended, Zeke would use the counterforce to change the spinning direction of the swordstaff.

After a few minutes, Zeke stopped holding back and entered a state of extreme focus. He had to. The head instructor was a strong weapon. His cultivation was stronger than Zeke’s and he was much more proficient in the weapon that he was wielding. Although he didn’t use any techniques, he was a very difficult opponent. Whenever Zeke’s intensity increased, he matched it perfectly.

He wanted to push Zeke to his limits so that he could unleash his full potential. Zeke also had similar intentions but there was something that he didn’t know. It was about the Nine Lotus Hells Technique. Something that wasn’t mentioned in the book. Something that the head instructor was aware of.

The trio were staring at the two of them very intently. One, because observing and analyzing the head instructor was beneficial for them. Second, they wanted to know about Zeke’s attack patterns as he would be ’sparring’ with them. Of course, they knew that it was just going to be one big ass kicking. At least this way, they would be able to somewhat defend themselves.

Back to the battles, Zeke was starting to get a bit tired. His Hell Qi was also nearly out. Even in these conditions, Zeke was actually enjoying the battle.

Then, it happened. His Hell Qi ran out. His Lower Energy Core was completely empty except for the three lotuses. This was already dangerous. If he pushed himself any more, the Energy Core could shatter. Now, Zeke had a choice. Either stop the battle and rest, or, continue the battle without his Hell Qi.

Zeke chose the latter. As if he had passed a test, his black lotus tattoo lit up. At the same time, the three lotuses in his energy core also started shaking. They became translucent. Outside, three twelve petaled black lotus phantoms appeared behind him, spinning slowly. Zeke could feel natural energy being refined into Hell Qi. Not just that, he was able to use the Hell Qi.

While Zeke was shocked, the head instructor almost knelt down at the sight of the lotus phantoms. But he controlled himself. Now was neither the time nor place. He said, "Don’t get distracted."

Then they resumed the battle. It went on until even the phantoms disappeared. Zeke suddenly felt extremely weak and almost fell down to the ground. The head instructor held him before he could and said, "I know that you have questions, but now is not the time."

Zeke nodded. The head instructor said, "The servants outside will lead you to your rooms. You can meet your Spirit Beasts tomorrow. You will also be assigned tomorrow so be ready."

The four of them nodded and said, "Yes Sir."

Zeke had recovered enough energy that he could walk by himself. They found a servant waiting for them outside as the head instructor had said. The servant didn’t say anything and started walking. They followed behind until they reached a building. It had exactly ten rooms. Each room had a number on its door. The servant said, "You can take the rooms according to your ranks. Ring the bell inside for food. Ranks 1-5 can ring the bell anytime, and as many times as they want. Ranks 6-10 may ring the bell thrice a day."

Then he walked away. Zeke said, "Take rooms 1-4."

Then he walked to the gate with ’1’ on it and entered it. The trio just shrugged their shoulders and entered their rooms. It wasn’t as if they were doing something wrong. Although they weren’t sure what the new rankings would be, they were certain that they would occupy Ranks 2-4.

Inside the room, Zeke rang the bell. A servant knocked on his door shortly after and he said, "Enter."

The servant entered and asked, "You called for me, sir?"

Zeke nodded and said, "Bring me a meal that can feed at least three people, and a new set of clothes. Also, Where can I take a bath?"

The servant wasn’t shocked by Zeke’s request. There were many in the Cult that could easily eat food that could feed ten grown men in one meal. He said, "Do you need a hot bath or cold? And will you be eating before, or after the bath?"

Zeke replied, "Hot and before the meal."

The servant said, "I will notify you when a hot bath has been drawn. Your food and clothes will be ready by the time you return. Can I help you with anything else?"

Zeke replied, "No."

The servant said, "I will be taking my leave then."

Then he exited the room. Zeke just lay on the bed. It felt really nice lying on a real bed after such a long time. Honestly, he was a bit confused. It was almost as if he was in a hotel instead of the Divine Demonic Cult. Of course, what he didn’t know was that the ’servant’ wasn’t a servant but another low ranking member of the Cult. New members were treated as servants in the Cult. That is, normal new members.

But the ten trainees that came out of the cavern were anything but. Even Rank 10 would be considered an elite prodigy in any organization, not to mention Zeke. Their reputation had spread throughout the Cult before they had even stepped foot there. Of course, none of them knew this right now.

Around half an hour later, the servant notified him that the bath was ready. He followed him to a large tub full of steaming water. The servant bowed his head and left him alone. Zeke took off his clothes and fully submerged himself in the tub.
