Back in the Spirit Dimension, they had finally created the Negative Connectors. Now they had to wait for some time so that their soul could get used to the new addition. This also allowed them to rest a little and also recheck if they had made any mistakes, They then resumed and began working on the Arteries.

They first fused Soul, Lunar Shadow, and Stellar Fire attributed mana together with Faith and then began shaping the Arteries. The Arteries began from where their pineal glands would be and extended to all parts of their bodies. from an outsider’s point of view, it looked absolutely breathtaking but to the boys, it was nothing but pain.

At this point, they had started screaming. They eventually stopped because it was taking too much of their already low energy. Once they were done with the Arteries, they realised a big problem that they had forgotten about. Unlike a heart, that would keep pumping the mana, they had no pump for the Soul and Mana Conduits.

They had to act quickly because they didn’t have much time. The situation was almost poetic. They had spent so much time on this but none of them had thought this would be a problem. While Zeke was trying to solve this, Cass got an idea. All they needed was a pump, right, then they could just create one.

He wanted to create a heart-like structure around their Origin Souls that would pump the mana. He quickly shared his idea with Zeke. Zeke who was at wit’s end was ready to accept anything no matter how far-fetched it seemed. They were both familiar with the structure of most of the organs in their bodies and didn’t have any problems creating the heart and connecting the Conduits with it. They then proceeded to create the Veins and the Positive Connectors.

By the time they were done, they were completely out of mana and their soul despite looking gorgeous was on the verge of destruction. They took a short break and then it was time to return.

"Grandpa we’re done here. We need to return right now and complete the Body and Mana Conduits before we pass out. In case you wake up before us, get us some mana replenishing potions."

"I will."

They all closed their eyes and returned to Dimension Zero. It was much easier than entering the Spirit Dimension because their bodies acted as beacons. It was a soul’s instinct to reunite with its body so they soon opened their eyes in Dimension Zero. As they had expected, Leonel had returned earlier than them and had readied the potions for them. They looked at the time and saw that only three hours had passed in here as compared to the twenty one in the Spirit Dimension.

Cas was very surprised by this phenomenon and decided that he would ask about this later. The boys chugged five mana replenishing potions each and got to work. Unlike the Soul and Mana Conduits, they had to be really careful with the Body and Mana Conduits because even the slightest mistake would spell death for them. And although they would return, it would waste all of their hard work until now.

Like the Soul and Mana Conduits, they began with the Negative Connectors. It was quite difficult, as they had to make sure they didn’t pierce any organs. Although that was impossible, they managed to minimise the damage as much as they could.

They finally reached the heart. Now they had to create an additional fifth chamber specifically for mana. It wasn’t difficult, just painful. It reminded Zeke of when that spear had pierced him. But that only fueled his determination. This time, he would kill them with his own hands.

Then they continued with the Arteries, Veins, and finally, The Positive Connectors. As soon as they were done they wanted to sleep but it wasn’t over yet.

Leonel looked at their slightly bloated, blood covered bodies. He asked them with concern evident in his voice, "How do you guys feel?"

The boys just stared at him with an expressionless face. He blushed and fake coughed.

"Cough...My bad. I meant how do the conduits feel?"

Before answering Leonel, they cleaned themselves.

"They’re weird. No, that’s not the right word..."

"They feel unnatural. Like we can feel that they have become a part of us but at the same time they’re not. They feel like a bad prosthetic limb. That’s the closest example I can think of."

[Realm_Weaver here. Not trying to hurt anyone’s feelings here or anything but if I did, then I apologise.]

"Hopefully, It’ll get better after we...you know. Anyways, how do we...um"

"...Kill ourselves?"

Cass was still uncomfortable with the fact that they had to kill themselves.

"Yeah."

"I don’t think that the skill will activate if we kill ourselves so we will have to kill each other."

Zeke proceeded to take out a wooden stake from his space ring.

"We just pierce each others’ hearts at the same time and we’re dead."

This time Leonel and Cass stared at him.

"What?"

"You do realise that we’re not vampires."

"What’s that got to do with anything?"

"Nothing much except for the fact that instead of normal weapons, you prepared a wooden stake. Wait...is this another delusional fantasy of yours?"

"I don’t know what you’re talking about."

"I knew it. Tell me, which anime?"

"I don’t-"

"Grandpa kill me."

"There’s no anime."

"Grandpa-"

’"Alright, alright. I’ll tell you. And it is not an anime, it is a TV show. The Originals."

Cass looked a little confused but then it hit him.

"As in The Originals, the show that’s more than a millennium old."

"Yep."

"How did you even find that? And aren’t you too young for it?"

"I have my sources and mentally, I’m not."

"And you want to enact a scene from that?"

"Enact is a strong word. We will just break this stake into two, say some lines and pierce each other’s hearts."

"There’s no stopping you, is there? Alright, I’ll be the gracious big bro and grant this wish of yours."

Zeke told him the lines and they got into position. Cass held the stake and Zeke stood in front of him. He broke the stake into two and gave one to Zeke.

[He tried but wasn’t able to. It was a stake made from the wood of a B Grade Tree after all. Grandpa had to make a crack in it so that he could easily break it on his own.]

They placed one end of their stakes on the other’s heart. Zeke looked at Cass and said, "I don’t deserve the love you’ve given me, brother. But I am so grateful."

Cass could tell that this wasn’t just an act for Zeke. He could feel that Zeke had some unconveyed feelings towards the other Cass.

He responded, "It’s been a glorious ride, Ezekiel. And my greatest honour." freeweɓnovel.cѳm

With that, they both plunged the stake deep into each other’s hearts. Blood filled their mouths as some overflowed. Still, both had a smile on their faces. Their breathing stopped and their bodies became pale. Usually, this would have taken a lot of time but they were already severely injured and had lost a lot of blood.

As if sensing the end of their lives, something activated inside their dead bodies. Their corpses spontaneously combusted. The flames on their bodies turned them into ash and morphed into a bird like shape.

SKREE

The bird shaped flames let out a shocking chirp, and flew up towards the sky, only to dive back towards the ashes they had left behind. The impact caused the ashes to disperse, creating two small clouds. But the flames were not done yet. They started circling the clouds, creating two firestorms.

The firestorms started absorbing mana at a rapid pace. Fortunately, Leonel had anticipated that something like this would happen and had prepared for it. One of the reasons that he had chosen this particular lab was because it was built on top of a mana crystal vein. He just activated some formations and let the mana in.

The firestorms absorbed a lot of mana and he could feel the vein being drained. Although it pained him a little, it was nothing compared to his grandsons. Finally, the firestorms stopped and the flames turned back into the birds. They chirped for a final time before disappearing. What was left were...

Lazy Lord Veiled in the Shadows (I haven’t posted this yet, but I will soon. Here is the synopsis)

David, an ordinary man leading a monotonous life in a 9-to-5 job, found solace in the escapism of webnovels. His mundane existence took an unexpected turn when, engrossed in a new title, ’Martial War: An Epic Saga,’ he succumbed to a sudden brain aneurysm. To his bewilderment, David awoke in the very world he had been reading about, reincarnated into the unfolding narrative.

The catch? He had only read the prologue, leaving his knowledge of the future blank. His second chance at life took a dark turn when he was sold to a shadowy organization that subjected him to abuse, molding him into a lethal assassin. His salvation came unexpectedly when he was rescued by the novel’s protagonist, earning a place as the protagonist’s right-hand man. As their alliance flourished, David found himself entangled in a tumultuous life, culminating in a heroic but tragic end on the battlefield. His dying wish for peace remained unfulfilled as, contrary to his expectations, death did not bring respite.

Instead, David experienced an unnerving regression, returning to the womb. Determined to embrace a serene existence in his next life, he vowed to rest peacefully. Yet, the relentless hand of fate had other plans for him. Will he find the tranquillity he seeks, or is destiny bound to disrupt his quest for rest once again? The journey unfolds as David navigates the unpredictable twists of his reincarnated existence.
