Chapter 128: 2.5 Phoenixes And Dragons (4)

"Ugh. No answer from Brie either. I hope she heard my prayer."

"Remember my love, time moves much differently in Paradise." Ignis said while giving her a kiss. "They’ve been there for over a year."

Leila smiled. "You’re right. I forgot about that. I wonder how big Xander is now!"

The wyvern got annoyed so it coughed. "What’s a filthy bird doing here?"

"So you insult me to greet me? Why do you hate me? I don’t know you."

"Go run to your mommy and daddy. They’ll tell you."

"My parents died over 3,000 years ago. They’re just an eternal flame now. My entire planet was eliminated, much like yours."

"Well, apparently they didn’t do a good enough job because you’re still around and your parents are a flame."

"Hey! Stop it. Why did we used to fight with phoenixes? Why don’t I remember?"

"You don’t remember always failing to bring peace between the two races no matter how hard you tried? It wasn’t your fault, your filthy friend is right about his parents. They angered some of the Fallen gods and Hades, so they got what they deserved."

"Wait, what? How do you know about this and I don’t?" Leila cried out.

"You really don’t know, do you? Well, I’m Blue and that’s my child, you don’t need to know her name when a filthy bird is with you."

"Will you stop with the insults? You’d be dead if he wanted to kill you." Leila said sternly. "Not to mention you are disrespecting the Dragon Queen’s significant other, also know as King of the Dragons."

"I’m sorry, your majesty. I’ll stop calling him a filthy bird now. But I won’t speak to him so tell him to go away."

"You will speak to both of us directly and he will not be going anywhere. How do you know about the phoenixes and what happened between our races?"

The wyvern sighed. "Ok, fine. There aren’t many wyvern left so promise me your future husband won’t kill us." freewebnoveℓ.com

"I’m not going to kill anyone! I’m marrying your Queen! I want to help restore the dragon race." Ignis pleaded.

"He’s telling the truth and Athena visited me in my dream and told me the key to restoring the dragon race was the right soul. I met Ignis shortly after."

"What a cute story. Bring back the dragons," Blue laughed. "Like that’ll happen."

Leila rolled her eyes. "Anyway, why don’t I remember?"

"I’m not entirely sure, your majesty. I remember you were very upset about the fighting with the phoenixes and dragons. You were always looking for a peaceful solution. As to why you don’t remember this area, I can’t answer that either. All I know is you visited all the time, there’s pictures of you all over this place painted on murals, walls, houses. Go look."

"Ok, thank you Blue. Have a good day. We won’t hurt or bother any of you so don’t worry. I’m ordering you not to mention you saw Ignis here." Leila said with a polite smile.

"Got it. We won’t."

"Well, she’s going to find out soon enough. Oh well, there’s no dragons and Solstice lay in ruins. So the flame lives a little longer. Now what is going on in this vampire settlement. Is that really a hybrid demon/vampire? Interesting." the masked god muttered to himself as he shifted his view to the settlement. "Fuck, why can’t I get over this memory block shit. Is Leila and Ignis creating a child really that big of a threat?!"

Hades appeared and laughed. "A long term threat, yes. You have two options. If you don’t want a fight, do nothing. If you want a fight, have Apollo go fight Ignis and Leila. Act or do not act, easy decision. Either is fine with me."

The masked god weighed his options.

"As much as I’d love to watch Apollo kill Leila and Ignis, if Sora got pissed and absorbed both of their power before Apollo could or managed to defeat Apollo, that would be quite problematic, don’t you agree?"

"I do.Thanks to the trio of dumbasses’ mistakes, Sora is significantly more powerful than we planned. I never thought he’d get Tesarion’s power. That’s like 3 planets worth of souls!" Hades said angrily. "Not your fault though, switch to something new."

"Thank you my lord. I will focus on trying to figure out if Sora is in Paradise or not. If he is there with his family, we have bigger problems."

"Agreed. Keep up the good work!"

"Always so quick to appear and always so quick to leave." The masked god smiled. "Now, let’s see what’s going on with these vampires."

Leila transformed and the couple flew around the dragon village. They found the paintings the wyvern referred to. They both transformed into human form and walked slowly, taking their time observing every minor detail of each painting and mural.

Ignis pointed toward a house with a mural painted on it.

"Leila, look at this! There’s a phoenix in the background."

Leila slowly scanned the mural. "I don’t think that’s a phoenix, that’s a red wyvern."

"No, it’s my mother. You’re in the painting as well. Are those your parents?"

"Wait, you’re right. Those are my parents. Why does the phoenix look scared?" Leila said as she touched the phoenix’s face.

She fell unconscious after touching the painting.

"Leila! Come back to me!" Ignis said in a panic while catching her.

He sat down and placed her head in his lap. "Please be ok!"

"Sora, I just felt a really strange energy. What is going on?"

Before Sora could answer, Athena appeared.

"It is time. Leila has fallen unexpectedly asleep. I will guide you, take my hand."

Brie grabbed Athena’s hand and concentrated as hard as she could before she finally felt herself fading into a different space.

"Be strong babe! You got this! I love you!"

Brie smiled as she heard Sora’s voice. She found herself in Leila’s dreams. Leila played with Lox and their children in their dragon form and Brie felt the love, warmth and joy Leila experienced. Within seconds, she felt the pain of Leila watching her entire race die.

’Woah, it’s exactly the same for us as it is for the god or goddess visiting just much quicker. This is different.’

Brie could finally sense Leila’s consciousness and floated into it.

"Hi Leila! Let’s go somewhere more comfortable." Brie said as she envisioned the white space Athena created so many times in her dreams when they met.

"Brie! You heard my prayer. I touched a mural with my parents and a phoenix on it. For some reason, I can’t remember anything about half of my realm and I met a wyvern who told me I should know because phoenixes and dragons used to hate each other." Leila said in a panic.

"Calm down Leila. It’s hard to keep up with everything when your mind is moving so quickly. This is my first time visiting as a goddess from Paradise!"

"Sorry! What’s wrong with me? Why can’t I remember anything?!"

"Let me look inside your consciousness and subconscious. If there’s nothing there, I’ll search your brain. There has to be something I can find!" Brie said with a smile. "We miss you by the way."

Leila smiled and tried to remain calm. It felt strange with Brie floating freely throughout her mind and body, but she focused on deep breathing.

"Got it! Someone put a memory block inside of your brain. I remember it. See you in 15 years!" Brie said as she faded away.

Leila woke up, lying on Ignis lap. "I remember it all. Someone used a memory block and Brie removed it for me. Our races used to argue and fight all the time. It was always over silly stuff. I tried to bring peace but could never achieve it. Then your parents upset Hades and some gods came and made a deal with them. They must have kept the deal because they’re still alive."

"Now that you finally remember, do you think we can officially get married and head back? Everyone’s probably worried sick and it’s been nearly 8 hours."

"Yes, I’d like that." Leila said with a smile.
