Chapter 510: Chapter 510: Miracle

Melody Summers watched Felix Ford’s manic display with cold eyes, remaining silent.

But it was as if a switch had been flipped in Felix Ford. He tilted his head back and looked at Melody Summers with mocking eyes, his face dripping with contempt. "You don’t know a damn thing! Heaven let me be reborn so I could build an empire!"

"Why do you think Heaven chose me, of all people, to be reborn? I’m this world’s Child of Fortune! Heaven is protecting me so I can establish a new regime, and when that happens, I’ll be the king of this world!"

After he finished speaking, Felix Ford tapped Melody Summers’s neck with the dark muzzle of his gun. With a look of utter contempt, he said, "A woman like you is just a waste of a rebirth slot! You have the chance to shake the world, but all you know how to do is cower here and scrape by... You women really are useless. Ha ha!"

Melody Summers’s eyes narrowed at his words, but Felix Ford’s index finger was already on the trigger.

He gave Melody Summers a lecherous once-over and said in a teasing tone, "It’s a shame... Your face and figure are actually right up my alley... If you were just an ordinary woman, I might have let you live. I’d have you stay by my side and serve me."

"But you just had to be one of the reborn, so I can’t leave a loose end like you alive. So long, little beauty. If you get another life... try to be a bit smarter next time!"

The instant Felix Ford was about to pull the trigger, an unbelievable scene unfolded before his eyes—Melody Summers, who had been right in front of his gun, had vanished into thin air!

In a flash, Felix Ford and Sylvia Lancaster locked eyes, each seeing the absolute terror in the other’s gaze—

Melody Summers vanishing on the spot proved she had a space!

’She really found the space!’

"Run!" Felix Ford yelled, turning on his heel. He knew a space could be used to kill, and he stood no chance against Melody Summers if she had one. He had to get out of there, now!

But it was too late.

The next moment, a pair of warm hands seized Felix Ford and Sylvia Lancaster by the arms. Melody Summers had reappeared right in front of them.

Before they could even get a clear look at her face, a wave of dizziness washed over them, and they both lost consciousness.

Melody Summers pulled both Sylvia Lancaster and Felix Ford into her space.

The alley was suddenly empty except for Melody Summers. The air grew quiet once more. She wiped the rain from her face and breathed a sigh of relief.

From the moment Felix Ford and Sylvia Lancaster found out she was one of the reborn, she knew she couldn’t turn them over to the police.

She had too many secrets. If Felix Ford and Sylvia Lancaster let something slip during a police investigation, the consequences would be unthinkable.

’Just as Felix Ford said, I truly have no desire to shake the world, overthrow the current system, or establish a new regime. All I want is to live a good life with my family. That being the case, I have to eliminate any and all destabilizing elements.’

’My only regret is that letting them die like this is getting off too easy. That Felix Ford has done nothing but evil and killed so many people. Death by a thousand cuts wouldn’t be enough for him!’

Melody Summers went home to find her family already asleep. She returned to her room and washed up quickly, but as she thought things over, a few worries gnawed at her.

’Sylvia Lancaster and Felix Ford are both reborn. This whole rebirth thing is mysterious enough as it is. If I just kill them now, will they simply be reborn again?’

’If they get another chance to be reborn, could they just end up in another timeline, continuing to wreak havoc?’

The thought gave Melody Summers a headache. ’But that’s not something I can control.’ She could only put the thoughts aside for now and enter her space to deal with the bodies of Felix Ford and Sylvia Lancaster.

But as soon as she entered the space, she was met with a shocking sight—

Felix Ford and Sylvia Lancaster, who should have been corpses, were lying on the grass, groaning in pain.

Leopard was crouched protectively in front of them, its body coiled in an attack stance, looking as if it was ready to tear the two intruders to shreds at any moment.

Seeing this, Melody Summers quickly calmed Leopard before turning to the white cat nearby. "White! What’s going on? I thought no one else could enter this space! Isn’t anyone besides me supposed to die the moment they come in?"

Melody Summers was utterly baffled. ’How are they still alive? Don’t tell me they really are the "Child of Fortune" and "Daughter of Fortune," so the space can’t kill them...’

’That’s just ridiculous!’

Albus replied:

[...Host, Sylvia Lancaster was the previously bound user of this space. The space will not activate its defense mechanisms against her.]

Melody Summers froze, then it clicked. ’That’s right, in my past life, Sylvia Lancaster was the one who was bound to the space...’

’Even though we’ve all been reborn, this space isn’t from Terra to begin with. It doesn’t necessarily have to follow the laws of time. It makes sense that the space would still recognize Sylvia Lancaster as its user, but...’

"Then what about Felix Ford? Don’t tell me he was bound to this space before, too?!"

Albus stared at Felix Ford for a moment before replying:

[Felix Ford died inside the space in his last life. The space cannot initiate a secondary kill protocol against him.]

"...Huh?"

’Sylvia Lancaster used the space to kill Felix Ford in their past life?’

’Then how are they getting along so peacefully in this life?’

Melody Summers’s head was spinning. After a moment’s thought, she took out some rope and tied up Felix Ford and Sylvia Lancaster.

When Felix Ford and Sylvia Lancaster first entered the space, an agonizing pain had swept through their bodies, as if ten thousand needles were simultaneously stabbing every nerve. They could do nothing but collapse to the ground and groan in agony.

After a long moment, the excruciating pain slowly faded, and they finally regained consciousness.

Sylvia Lancaster’s hands and feet had been bound by Melody Summers. She struggled for a while before managing to push herself into a kneeling position.

Staring at the familiar stream before her, her eyes wide with shock, she murmured, "No wonder I searched all over Anworth and couldn’t find this space... You actually stole it..."

Melody Summers was speechless.

’Now *that* was something I didn’t like to hear!’

’What does she mean, *stolen*?’

’First of all, this space never had an owner to begin with. And even if it did, it had nothing to do with Sylvia Lancaster! As long as I can remember, this stone has been on Mount Anworth.’

Felix Ford was also staring blankly at the dimension around him: at the fields overflowing with vegetables, at the fish and shrimp swimming cheerfully in the stream. The crisp chirping of birds echoed from the dense forest in the distance, and the faint, sweet scent of fruit drifted on the air...

He murmured, "So this is a space... A miracle... This is nothing short of a miracle!..."

’A miracle like this... it should have belonged to me, the main character!’

’I could have used the resources from this space to raise my own private army, kill everyone who defied me, build my very own empire, and make everyone bow down before me.’

’But why? Why couldn’t I get my hands on the space in either of my lives? Why was I always one step behind someone else...?’
