Of course, Shen Nian had no idea that just a moment ago, she had come dangerously close to being thoroughly taken advantage of.
"What’s with that? Are my eyes ugly or something?"
Shen Nian pouted after she spoke. She thought her eyes were quite pretty, actually.
"Of course not. Your eyes are the most beautiful eyes in the world!"
Looking into Shen Nian’s eyes, Lu Cheng felt as if he were looking at his entire world.
"Then why did you tell me to close my eyes?"
"Because they’re too beautiful!"
’Too beautiful, so I have to close them? What kind of logic is that?’
Shen Nian didn’t understand, but she didn’t argue with Lu Cheng any further. He had already let her go, so she immediately got out of bed and slipped into the bathroom.
She didn’t want to risk being trapped in bed by him again if she delayed even a little. She hadn’t forgotten that she and Lu Cheng had to go home today. It was a long journey, so it was better to get an early start.
However, after she entered the bathroom and saw herself in the mirror—especially her eyes—Shen Nian finally understood why Lu Cheng had told her to close them.

Lu Cheng quickly took care of his leave handover. After packing their bags, the two of them left B City and boarded the train back to their hometown.

Shen Nian felt a bit helpless about it, but the thought of Lu Cheng cherishing what she gave him made her heart feel warm and sweet.
Although it was another full day and night on the train, having Lu Cheng by her side made it completely different.
When she was thirsty, Lu Cheng would promptly open her water bottle and hand it to her. When she was hungry, he would immediately take out the snacks they had with them. When she was sleepy, Lu Cheng’s broad shoulder was always there for her to lean on and nap for a while.
With Lu Cheng around, the originally exhausting journey didn’t feel arduous at all to Shen Nian.
Shen Nian had fully expected the rest of the trip home to continue just as smoothly. But in the quiet dead of night, a series of sharp screams suddenly pierced the air on the train, followed by panicked cries for help.
"What’s wrong?"
Shen Nian, who had been dozing lightly on Lu Cheng’s shoulder, was startled awake by the commotion and sat up to ask.
"It sounds like something happened in one of the cars up ahead. Don’t worry, I’ll go take a look."
"I’ll go with you!"
Shen Nian got up with Lu Cheng. From the sounds, it didn’t seem like there was a criminal on the loose; it was more like someone was having a medical emergency.
"Okay."
Lu Cheng had initially wanted Shen Nian to stay and rest, but on second thought, he felt more at ease having her by his side.
After getting up, the two of them headed toward the source of the commotion.
Although many people had heard the noise, most were traveling and worried about getting into trouble, so they didn’t dare get too close. Because of this, Lu Cheng and Shen Nian faced few obstacles on their way to the next car, where the incident had occurred.
