Chapter 2366: Chapter 2366: Treasured Sword

The coffin jumped to the wall and stopped.

Here, apart from the wall, there was nothing but the wall. There wasn’t even a seam, let alone an exit. Just as the Fatty Brother and the Thin Man were wondering, the coffin suddenly flew up, struck the wall a few times, and the sound of rumbling was heard.

The wall, which originally had not a single seam, suddenly cracked open, revealing a large doorway.

The two brothers were dumbfounded. No wonder they had searched for so long without finding a seam; there was indeed a mechanism within the underground palace. No wonder the Elder boasted that they wouldn’t find it even in fifty years.

They thought this was the exit and were very excited to finally escape from the enigmatic old man. Without a second thought, they rushed inside, but upon looking up, they were met with four walls again, and their smiles froze.

"Mr. Elder, what do you mean? Didn’t you say you’d send us out? Why is there another room?" The Thin Man felt deceived and was somewhat angry.

Compared to their impatience, the Elder appeared very calm and said, "Why are you in such a hurry? Meals are eaten bite by bite, and roads are walked step by step."

Finally, he added, "You two, come over here."

"Mr. Elder, what’s the matter?"

The two brothers approached with trepidation, clearly told they’d be led out, yet they were in a small room instead. What was this old man planning?

The Elder spoke sinisterly, "Open your mouths."

Both brothers were seasoned Itinerant World figures; they knew well what this action implied.

The Thin Man was somewhat panicked, realizing the old man intended to administer poison: "Mr. Elder, what... what do you want to do?"

The Elder then laughed eerily, "Hmph...hmph...hmph...!"

After laughing for a while, he suddenly stopped, speaking coldly, "To just let you out like this, you really take me for a fool. If you leave without helping me find the treasured sword, wouldn’t I suffer a loss?"

Thin Man: "Mr. Elder, what are you ultimately planning?"

Elder: "Only if you consume poison will I feel assured letting you go."

Thin Man: "Mr. Elder... you...!"

Elder: "As long as you help me find the treasured sword and break open this coffin, I’ll naturally help you detoxify. If you’re unwilling, that’s fine. I don’t like forcing anyone. You can accompany me here for a lifetime, which isn’t bad either, ha-ha-ha...."

Then came another burst of strange laughter.

Staying is certain death. The underground palace has no sun nor food, so why not take a chance on getting out? They might truly find the treasured sword or encounter a Divine Doctor who can detoxify them. Thinking of this, they thought of Situtu Xueer; perhaps she could detoxify them.

"Mr. Elder, we agree."

As soon as the Fat Man finished speaking, the Thin Man tugged at his sleeve and said, "Fatty Brother, what are you saying? This is poison, if we take it we’re doomed."

Veterans of the Itinerant World all know, one mustn’t consume poison casually, especially those administered by fellow travelers, which are generally deadly.

Fatty Brother: "Brother, what nonsense are you talking! As long as we find the treasured sword for Mr. Elder, he’ll detoxify us."

Thin Man: "Are you foolish? A treasured sword that slices through iron like mud isn’t easily found."

The Elder’s sinister voice echoed again: "Have you made up your minds? I don’t have the patience to wait for you to slowly deliberate."

"We’ve decided," the Fat Man said, then opened his mouth wide.

"Good!"

As soon as he spoke, swoosh, a Pill shot out from the coffin and entered the Fat Man’s mouth.
