Chapter 1114: Chapter 1114: Really Didn’t Want to Come
"This is the Wilson Corporation’s board meeting. If you’re not a director of Wilson Corporation, what are you doing here?" Emerie Wilson stared at Sophie Wilson and said sarcastically.
"Huh, I’m really curious now—since when did Benjamin Walton become a director of Wilson Corporation?" Sophie Wilson looked at Benjamin Walton in mock surprise and asked.
"Benjamin is my husband. Of course he can attend." Emerie’s face darkened in an instant.
Sophie smugly hooked her arm through Mason Wilson’s. "And I’m still my dad’s little girl. That’s a much closer bond than your so-called husband-and-wife relationship."
"Enough." Old Mrs. Wilson frowned and scolded, "Sit down, and start the meeting!"
Benjamin tugged at Emerie, managing to stop her from continuing to trade barbs with Sophie.
Emerie pressed her lips together. Anyway, there’d be plenty of chances later to make Sophie cry. For now, she’d let Sophie off the hook.
Benjamin and Emerie sat down. Old Mrs. Wilson looked at a few of the directors present—after all, they were the ones who’d suggested this meeting. "The topic of today’s meeting is..."
"Dad, the agenda today is actually very simple—it’s to talk about Benjamin’s position in the company." Emerie cut Old Mrs. Wilson off and snatched the line.
"Emerie, stop fooling around." Old Mrs. Wilson scolded in displeasure. "Benjamin still has his own company to run. How can he have that much time to stay in Wilson Corporation long-term?"
"There should be a limit to your willfulness. Don’t go too far. Aren’t you worried he’ll wear himself out?" Old Mrs. Wilson snorted, then forced out a fake smile and said, "Benjamin, ignore Emerie. She just thinks I’m overworked managing the company and is talking nonsense."
"You still have a company at home. I can’t be so selfish as to make things easier on myself by overworking you. Don’t listen to Emerie." Old Mrs. Wilson said with a smile.
Old Mrs. Wilson’s stance was very firm: Wilson Corporation would never end up in an outsider’s hands.
"Dad, big brother still refuses to come back to the company. Aren’t you afraid you’ll wear yourself out? Letting Benjamin help you isn’t a good idea?" Emerie shot Sophie a glare and asked Old Mrs. Wilson.
"Who says your brother isn’t coming back to the company?" Old Mrs. Wilson said testily. "Can’t you see he’s already here attending the meeting?"
"Dad, my stance hasn’t changed." Mason Wilson opened his mouth and said, "As long as the Wilson Clan cuts ties completely with Emerie Wilson and has nothing more to do with her, I’ll return to the family. Otherwise, forget it."
"Mason!" Old Mrs. Wilson glared at him in anger, not expecting him to say that.
"Mason Wilson, you’re going too far!" Emerie shouted furiously. "Are you still my brother or not? Do you have to drive me to absolute ruin? What good does kicking me out of the Wilson Clan do you?"
Mason’s lips curved slightly as he said, in a good mood, "You leaving the Wilson Clan will make my daughter feel better, which makes me happy. Tell me, doesn’t that count as a benefit?"
"You..." Emerie’s face turned green with rage. "Fine, fine... Mason Wilson, this is how you act as an elder brother, is it?"
"Only because I have a sister like you would I act this way. Why do you think I’ve become like this? Ask yourself." Mason had no intention of forgiving Emerie, especially since Emerie never felt she’d done anything wrong.
Even now, Emerie still believed there was nothing wrong with what she’d done.
A sister like this was something he couldn’t afford and didn’t want.
If Sophie hadn’t asked him to attend this board meeting, he wouldn’t have wanted to come at all.
