*Hey, Is everything okay?*
Kian said:
*Can you come?*
A few seconds after asking, Eden appeared in front of Kian.
He smiled and asked:
"How are you?"
Kian smiled.
"I’m okay. I just..."
Eden tilted his head.
He inquired:
"Do you want me to look into your mind?"
Kian nodded.
Eden put two fingers on each of his temples and closed his eyes. When he had seen everything, he let go and asked:
"You want to know what happened between you and Shaotian?"
Kian nodded. Eden explained:
"Despite what you think, feelings aren’t easier to catch because of pheromones. The pheromones are a way to communicate. It just shows how you feel. You and Shaotian have a bond, that’s why even your spiritual power needs to coalesce. But it seems like you’re fighting it, hence your spiritual power going haywire. You’re fighting with your heart, so your spiritual power fought back. Until you’re honest with your feelings, it will happen every once in a while."
Kian looked at Eden and then down.
"You’ve seen my mind, Shaotian is keeping too many secrets from me."
Eden smiled and lifted his head.
"When I met Atlas, he was an adult, but he acted like a teenager. You’re a teenager, but you act like an adult. You should relax and have fun. I know that deep down this is what you want, so do it. You believe that Shaotian is your soulmate?"
Kian answered with certainty:
"I do."
"Then just have fun, and everything will work out. Cael and I met in the oddest way and went through a lot before we were together. But I took every moment in and went with the flow. If you worry every second, you’ll be miserable. Here you have power, freedom, money, and most importantly, love. You should be happy Kian, not anxious."
Kian took a breath and said:
"You’re right. If Gege followed me here, it means that he wants to be with me. So, I shouldn’t worry when we’ll get there, I should just enjoy the ride."
Eden nodded with a smile.
"Exactly."
After thinking, Kian asked:
"Can you tell that Lucian and Shaotian’s souls are part of a whole?"
Eden didn’t need to check to know he was a Whitlock, but he did.
When he was done, he said:
"They both only had a soul-flake. He’s a Whitlock."
Kian relaxed, knowing he didn’t imagine it.
Since he said he won’t worry anymore he won’t ask anything else.
"Thank you for coming."
"Of course, if you need anything, call."
Eden hugged him and left. He appeared in Cael’s office. He was surprised to see Caspian and Atlas. The three of them were looking at a holo screen, with a map and names.
Recognizing the names, he asked:
"What’s going on?"
They turned around and Atlas said:
"Cael told us you were rechecking for all of Colton’s prisoners, so we’ve been helping."
Atlas saw how upset Eden was, so of course they’ll help if they can.
Eden smiled and said:
"Thanks."
Cael asked:
"Where were you?"
"Kian needed me. And we might have a problem."
Caspian asked:
"What happened?" fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
Eden took a seat on Cael and faced them.
"His Gege is a Whitlock."
Everyone felt stunned.
It was already surprising that Atlas and Eden fell for a Whitlock, and now Kian did too. Caspian asked:
"Could you get information on him?"
"Not yet, but I’ll be able soon. From what I saw, he’ll keep following Kian."
Cael asked:
"How is he?"
Eden said:
"He’s caring and nice. In the first universe, Lucian was willing to sacrifice half of his life for Kian and now, he is just as in love as he was. He would do anything for him. Their entire life as vampires, he never got angry at him."
When Atlas frowned, Eden smiled.
"I thought it was odd too, but he is more the silent type. When I have additional information, I’ll let you know."
Caspian nodded. There are many bad Whitlock and if Kian happened to fall for one of those, he’ll destroy him. He’s the most powerful being in the multiverse, so it’s not like anyone can stop him.
Kian spent the day enjoying his new home. When it was time for dinner, he called downstairs and had food sent. He loves the amenities in his building. He never has to cook or clean. Everything is taken care of, for a fee. But Kian doesn’t mind.
As the two women set the food on the table Kian went to the elevator. He bypassed the lock using Versem and went to the top floor. When he arrived, he looked at Shaotian’s apartment. It’s the same as his, except that he has a training room.
Kian called:
"Shaotian?"
Shaotian who was sending an email, ran down the stairs when he recognized Kian’s voice. He was so happy to see him, that he didn’t ask how he made it to his floor.
Their badges are different. He asked:
"Do you need help with something?"
Kian’s cheeks flushed, and he said:
"I was wondering if you would have dinner with me."
Shaotian felt stunned. After the way Kian told him to leave, he was sure he wouldn’t see him until they start training.
"I would love to."
Kian walked to the elevator and he followed him. Kian used his badge and pushed the button. He could feel Shaotian look at him, and kept looking in the distance. He realized that he and Gege never had a proper date.
When they arrived, Kian walked to the table. He took a seat and Shaotian sat in front of him. He looked at the food he ordered and then at Kian.
He asked:
"Why would you have done with the food, if I would’ve been unable to eat with you?
"I would’ve invited the alpha at the reception."
Shaotian’s eyes darkened, and Kian’s eyes flashed with amusement. What did he expect him to say? As Shaotian filled his plate, he said:
"I knew you would accept."
Shaotian looked at Kian. He was filling his plate. The way he said it was in no way pretentious, it was like his acceptance was what was supposed to happen, like fate. Shaotian felt his heartbeat quicken.
As they ate, Shaotian asked:
"Why did you want to join the army?"
Kian said:
"I never met my family and the idea of being surrounded by people who would have my back, just like I would theirs, made me want to join."
Shaotian smiled. Kian is truly one of the sweetest people he’s ever met.
"What about you?"
"It runs in the family. Even if my father didn’t like it, I did. My grandfather taught me everything he knew, and I wanted to be part of that world so badly. That’s all I cared about."
Kian nodded.
"Are you close to your father?"
"I am, we are similar except that he looks more friendly. It’s easy for him to entice people, if he wasn’t so good, he wouldn’t be the richest man in the galaxy."
Shaotian is very close to his father, he tells him everything. He is often out of the planet for business, but they usually catch up every two days in the terminal.
Shaotian asked:
"What do you see in your future?"
Kian thought and said:
"I want to become one of the best soldiers and have a mate, who will fight by my side."
He likes the idea of him and Gege going on missions and training recruits. Shaotian looked down and asked:
"Have you found your mate?"
Shaotian looked up when after a long time, Kian didn’t answer. He seemed to be thinking.
"I believe, I have. When it’s time, we’ll be together."
Shaotian looked into Kian’s eyes. Is he talking about him or the mystery man?
He knows he’s both, but he wants to know where Kian stands. Kian said:
"You found your mate too."
Shaotian felt his heartbeat quicken. Is he talking about him?
"Minglan, aren’t you two engaged?"
Shaotian hid his disappointment and said:
"We are. My father knew I would never look for a mate on my own, so he proposed the general commander’s daughter."
Kian nodded and said:
"She seems to love you deeply."
"I guess."
Shaotian resumed eating. After a few seconds, he said:
"I was sure you and Tan were together. You were even hugging this morning."
Kian forced himself not to laugh. His Gege is jealous when he is engaged to mary.
"He asked for forgiveness and I said that I would, after some time."
Shaotian frowned. Does Kian not see how perfidious Tan is?
Kian said:
"You’re the reason he joined the army. He’s desperately in love with you."
Shaotian could tell that, but he doesn’t care. Kian is the only person he wants.
Shaotian decided to change the subject and asked about what he liked. The atmosphere became lighter, and the two found out more about each other. When they were done eating, Kian walked Shaotian to the elevator.
He pushed the button and turned around. Shaotian smiled.
"Thank you for inviting me."
"Of course, I don’t like to eat alone."
Shaotian took a step forward and asked:
"Can we have dinner together tomorrow too? In my penthouse at 7."
Kian nodded with a smile.
When the doors of the elevators opened, Shaotian took another step toward Kian. He leaned in and captured his lips. Kian kissed him back. The kiss was sweet and tender. After a few seconds, Kian pulled back and looked into his eyes.
Shaotian could only hear his heartbeat. He reluctantly got in the elevator. As the door closed, he said without thinking:
"Good night, Bunny."
"Good night."
