The room became silent when Shaotian and Yuan entered. Shaotian looked at all the people who were surrounding Kian, taking their place. He walked up the stairs and took a seat behind the table.
Yuan said:
"Out of the 200 recruits, 115 successfully passed the trial. Here’s the ranking."
Yuan tapped on his tablet and a holo screen appeared. Everyone watched excitedly as their names scrolled on the screen. From the recruit with the least points to the most. Yuan looked at Xiaoshu and saw him holding Kian’s hand nervously.
He smiled. Xiaoshu has nothing to worry about, he’s one of the best and most resilient recruits he’s ever seen. He and Kian are by far the best. While everything seemed to come effortlessly for Kian, Xiaoshu had a drive that was unmatched by anyone.
When the list reached the top ten, the remaining recruit who hadn’t seen their name became nervous. Since they made it this far, of course, they want to crack the top three.
Minglan looked at the screen unblinkingly. Her face fell when she saw that she was fourth. Her hands tightened into fists and saw that even that disgusting Tan did better than her. He was third.
Her anger reached new heights when she saw that Kian was first and Xiaoshu second. She looked down, fuming. She comes from a military family, but a nameless omega stole her first place. A fucking omega! They’re the weakest, yet this one beat her.
Tan looked at Kian angrily. He dared to steal his first spot. He knew how much training with Shaotian meant to him, yet he did.
Xiaoshu looked at Kian with a bright smile and said:
"Congratulation."
As soon as the galaxy saw Kian’s reaction to getting first place, they couldn’t help but smile.
He looked stunned and speechless. It showed how humble he is. Kian was by far the best of all the recruits, yet he never acted as though he was better than them.
Kian woke up from his shock and smiled with shiny eyes. He looked at Xiaoshu and said:
"Thanks. I knew you would be in the top three."
Xiaoshu smiled.
Shaotian looked at Kian with a smile. This is why Kian deserves first place, more than anyone. He always put everyone before himself. Kian felt Shaotian’s eyes and gazed at him. He had a tender smile on his face, and his green eyes were shining like emeralds.
Kian felt his heartbeat quicken and his cheeks flushed. He blinked and looked down. This isn’t good. Now that he knows Shaotian is Gege, it feels different somehow. Shaotian’s heartbeat quickened and felt stunned. Did his Bunny just blush for him?
Minglan looked between the two furiously. What the fuck is going on? It isn’t bad enough that she lost first place, now she has to watch the two look at each other like that? At least now, she knows with certainty that Shaotian isn’t indifferent to Kian.
Yuan looked between the two as well, surprised then said:
"We’ll be back to Colinus tomorrow at 8. You have 48 hours to pack and come back to the academy. You’ll receive a message on your terminal with your dorm information if you want to live in the academy, while you train for the second trial. Furthermore, you’ll also receive your schedule. You’ll all have the same training, except the winner, who will be trained by private Bei."
Kian looked up and met Shaotian’s eyes. Before, when he would look into Shaotian’s green eyes he didn’t feel anything because they were fierce. But now he doesn’t understand how he couldn’t realize sooner he is his Gege.
Yuan’s green eyes are naturally soft, so he felt more drawn to him. And the fact that he believed he was the one smelling like the angel’s trumpet, only further made him want to get closer.
But now that he knows, he feels stupid for not realizing that sooner. Everything feels different, and he can feel a different kind of tension between him and Shaotian. It is like every time their eyes meet, the air is charged with electricity.
Shaotian looked back into Kian’s eyes. He doesn’t hate him anymore, he knows it. Yuan looked between the two again and said:
"You’re free to do as you please before and after dinner. Be in the mess in time, or you won’t eat. You may leave."

Yuan looked at him with narrowed eyes and pulled him to his office. He closed the door behind him, and Shaotian took a seat behind the desk. Yuan took a seat and stared at him.
Shaotian asked while using his tablet:
"What?"
"Now, I understand what was your problem with Kian."
Shaotian looked up.
"What are you talking about?"
"You have feelings for him."
Shaotian looked at Yuan in silence. Yuan is his best friend, and he tells him everything. But he’s not sure how he’ll take it if he tells him how far he went. Between sneaking into Kian’s quarters and cave and hiding his identity.
There’s no way he doesn’t come out slimy in that story. Yuan asked:
"What’s going on between you two?"
Shoatian sighed and told him everything. When he was done, Yuan was gaping.
Yuan felt speechless. He can’t believe Shaotian did all of that. Thats insane! Not only is it insane, but he acted impulsively. A word that has never described him. It seems like he has more than feelings for Kian. From what he saw, Kian isn’t indifferent either.
Yuan said:
"You better find a way to tell him the truth, if he finds out, he’ll think you’ve been manipulating him from the beginning."
"I know, I’ll use the training to become friends with him. He’ll see that my feelings for him are genuine."
Yuan burst out laughing. He never thought in a trillion years that Shaotian would ever be in this kind of situation. Shaotian looked at him coldly.
"Stop laughing, this isn’t funny. Kian might not forgive me."
Yuan chuckled.
"I know, it’s just who would have thought that the great Shaotian would act this way after finally falling in love."
Shaotian narrowed his eyes at him. Yuan lifted his hands in surrender and asked:
"How are you going to deal with your father?"
"I’ll talk to him when he is back on the planet. Kian is the only person I want to be with."
Yuan nodded.
Xiaoshu pushed Kian into his quarters and closed the door behind him. Kian was startled by Xiaoshu’s fierceness.
"Do you have a death wish?"
"What?"
Xiaoshu said:
"You realize that you’re Minglan’s new target now, right?"
"I’ve been a target since I saved her in the forest. And now that I’ve taken first place, she won’t rest until I turn to ashes."

Kian’s eyes darkened.
"He’s not her fiancé."
He’s starting to feel possessive, the same way he did with Lucian.
Xiaoshu shouldn’t call Shoatian Minglan’s fiancé. He’s his and no one else’s. Xiaoshu felt stunned. He asked:
"Did something happen between you two?"
Kian explained to her what happened, but omitted the part where he thought the mystery man was Yuan. Xiaoshu blinked and asked:
"When did you find out its Shaotian?"
"When he came to see me in the cave."
Xiaoshu nodded and asked:
"What do you intend to do? Even if Shaotian has feelings for you, he’s hiding and has a fiancé."
Kian passed a hand through his hair.
"I’ll give him until we’re done training, if he doesn’t come forward, then I’ll know what I truly mean to him."
Xiaoshu nodded. After a few seconds, he asked:
"Do you have feelings for him?"
Kian met his eyes.
"Shaotian is my soulmate."
Xiaoshu looked into his eyes and knew that Kian believed that wholeheartedly. He hopes things will end well between them. He doesn’t want him to be heartbroken. Kian deserves better, especially after the way Tan treated him.
Xiaoshu said:
"Hopefully, he’ll do the right thing and realize that you’re the one for him."
Kian smiled. He knows that Xiaoshu is being supportive, despite being worried.
He hugged him, and Xiaoshu hugged him back. Kian pulled back and asked:
"So, do you believe Yuan is the one for you?"
Xiaoshu’s face flushed, and he said:
"He’s just my friend."
"Right he only thinks of you as a friend, that’s why he sneaked into your den during the trial, to talk to you for an hour."
Xiaoshu blinked and asked:
"How did you know?"
"He came to check on me and told me."
Xiaoshu’s heartbeat quickened.
"Did he say something else?"
"He asked if you were single and talked about how cute and sweet you were."
Even if that day he was in a daze, he could tell Yuan liked Xiaoshu a lot. So, he played matchmaker and tossed him out. He knows that Xiaoshu likes him too, that’s why he didn’t tell him he believed his mystery man was Yuan at first.
When Xiaoshu smiled, he smiled too. It feels odd to have a real friend. Even if Lucian was his first real friend, they then became more than friends.
But with Xiaoshu it’s different, he was the only one who had his back in the OGTL. So, he’ll have his back too. It feels good to be in a universe where he’s not alone.
