When Eden opened his eyes he was on stage in a ballroom. The room was filled with people dressed nicely who were looking at him expectantly.
"Eden, did you hear me?"
Eden looked down and saw a man on one knee holding a box with a ring on it. Ryker asked again:
"Eden, will you marry me?"
Eden blinked and used Versem to receive the universe’s information.
This Eden is an 18-year-old man from planet Cethra 7. He was also the heir of the Qin Clan and Qin Empire. While on a remote abandoned planet called Theseus his grand grandfather discovered the Rissian Blend. He bought the planet and ended up harvesting it. After years of studying it, he found out that it could be turned into fuel for hovercars. It could also be used on spaceships for interstellar travel which was difficult before or for medicinal purposes. In the time they lived in most people already lived more than 200 years but it didn’t stop them from catching illness but the Rissian Blend was able to cure them.
The Rissian was also used to create microprocessors for any technological product which made it 20 times faster. Everything Qin would sell would become the standard. Over time every product whether hovercars, spaceships, cellular, tablet, or computer used Qin microprocessors. The most sold fuel was Rissian Blend for its ability to travel further and faster and every time someone was sick they would also use it too since it was able to cure most illnesses.
The Qin Empire was divided into two companies Qin Lab which was the place where the medicine and the fuel were made and Qin Inc where the processors and new products using Rissian Blend would be created. Thanks to that valuable substance the Qin became obscenely rich. They became allies with four other clans including the Chen Clan who made cellular, hovercars, and spaceships.
The leader of the Clan was Chen Dorian a ruthless man. His company Chen Tech used the Rissian Blend and the Qin microprocessors. Eden was dating Zhu Ryker the son of Zhu Arman the leader of the Zhu Clan. They had a cyber security company and most products ran on Zhu Security. Eden’s best friend was the leader of The Wang Clan. Wang Sirius ran Wangineer which built most products like the cellular and the hovercars sold by Chen Tech.
Despite being the heir of the Qin Empire Eden never ran it. It was said that he is to inherit it when he turns 19. Since his father and Zhu Arman his boyfriend’s father were friends he left Qin Lab in his hands and Qin Inc and the Qin Clan in his partner’s hands Ying Idriss. Since Zhu Arman ran the Zhu clan and Zhu Security he let his son Zhu Ryker run the company. He was in charge of the most valuable substance in the galaxy. Eden trusted and loved him so he was satisfied.
The four clans worked together and every year they would be invited to Chen Dorian’s castle every weekend for the hunting season and to renew the contracts between their companies. The day before his birthday Ryker decided to throw a birthday party while they were staying at the Chen castle which made it easier since all the clan leaders were there.
Before the end of the celebration, Ryker proposed to Eden and he agreed to marry him. After asking Dorian’s permission to organize the wedding in his beautiful garden Ryker decided that they would marry before the end of the hunting season. The entire wedding was organized by Ryker and three weeks later he and Eden married. Eden moved into his house and lived with his family.
Ryker’s parents Arman and Cersei wanted Eden to stay at home while he worked. Eden agreed after Ryker convinced him. After manipulating Eden into giving away the planet Theseus and Qin Empire they had him killed. A few months later Ryker married Dorian and Chen Tech and Qin Empire which became Zhu Empire merged. They became the most powerful couple in Cethra 7 and lived a long and happy life.
When he received all the information Eden smiled. He looked at Riker again, he had short brown hair with a round face. His eyes were slanted and he had a small nose with thin lips. He looked to be in his late twenties. He had a smug smile on his face as if him proposing was the biggest honor to Eden. He can’t wait to destroy him. The entire ballroom was silent so when a man entered with four bodyguards everyone looked at him. They immediately recognized Dorian because of his cold blue eyes. Eden scanned him, he had a chiseled jawline with almond-shaped blue eyes and a well-straight nose with full red lips. He seemed to be in his late twenties.
What kind of person invites people into his castle when he isn’t even on the planet? Every year every weekend during the hunting season Dorian invites all the clan leaders to his castle to hunt and to renew the contract between them. Hunting is a sport played by the man with the most influence on Cethra 7. They arrived two days ago but Dorian just came back today. Couldn’t he at least come at the beginning of his birthday party? This is just another proof that no one respects Eden. They all see him as a spoiled and arrogant brat which makes him so happy. He has business deals with Dorian’s company but they never met since Ryker is in charge of Qin Lab.
He turns 19 at midnight then he’ll take everything back. Eden looked down and he said with a small smile:
"Of course, I’ll marry you."
Ryker smiled arrogantly and pushed the ring around his finger. Eden used Versem to have control of it before it was at the end of it. That Ryker is truly smart too bad he is facing a genius. The ring he bought Eden is the engagement ring that everyone dreams of. The diamond in the ring change colors based on the wearer’s emotion.
Most people see it as a way to know how your partner feels and make him happy if he is sad but to Ryker, it’s only a way to have more control over Eden. He used the ring to see his emotions and the best time to manipulate him. He’s going to regret ever getting him that ring. Ryker stood up and he was about to kiss Eden but he turned his head and he ended up kissing his cheek. He frowned then he thought that maybe he feels shy in front of all the people who were clapping for them. Although that would be a first...
He looked at the ring and the crease between his eyebrows became more pronounced when he saw that Eden wasn’t happy. How is that possible? He knows that Eden has been wanting him to propose for a long time, and he kept giving him hints. He thought that he would burst into tears when he proposed but he didn’t and now the ring showed that he felt neutral like getting engaged made him feel nothing. Ryker felt a look directed at him and looked in the crowd and his eyes lit up. He’s back.
He looked at Eden.
"Come on I’ll introduce you to clan leader Chen."
He was about to lace their hands but Eden put his hands behind his back and walked first. He followed him not understanding what was wrong with him today. They walked down the stairs of the stage and passed through the crowd. They smiled and thanked all the people congratulating them. When they reached Dorian the two bodyguards in front of him stepped out of the way when Dorian ordered:
"Move."
Eden rolled his eyes and he looked away.
Ryker looked at Dorian excitedly. He is so happy he’s back, when he told him he would be on planet alpha century for two days he was disappointed. He can’t wait for this whole charade with Eden to be over so he can be with him. He knows that Dorian isn’t indifferent to him. He’s the only person he is nice to, everyone thinks that it’s because he is in love with him. He hopes it’s the truth since he loves him. Once he gets everything after the wedding he’ll officially chase him. He’ll never give up until Dorian is his. He gave him a gentle smile and said:
"Clan leader Chen this is my fiance Eden."
Despite all the clans being allies, everyone calls Dorian Clan leader Chen as a sign of respect. He is the most powerful man on Cethra 7. Even Ryker his only friend calls him clan leader Chen. Dorian looked at Eden with a smile and he said:
"It’s nice to meet you, Eden."
They both looked at Eden waiting for his answer but he was looking at someone else. They followed his eyes and they landed on Sirius the leader of the Wang Clan. Everyone knows that he and Eden are best friends even Dorian who never met Eden before.
He had an affectionate smile on his face. Ryker looked at the ring and he frowned when he saw that it was red which means that he feels affection. Dorian followed Ryker’s eyes and saw the color of the ring as well, he smiled. Ryker looked at Eden angrily for humiliating him like that in front of Dorian. He called annoyed:
"Eden!"
Eden woke up and he looked at him expressionlessly.
"What?"
Ryker narrowed his eyes. Even on this day, he acts like a spoiled brat.
"I was introducing you to Clan leader Chen."
Eden looked at Dorian with disdain and said:
"Dorian."
Everyone looked at Eden wide-eyed. His he trying to die? No one calls him by his name, when people do it sets him off and no one understands why. Dorian’s hands tightened into fists and he said:
"Call me clan leader Chen."
Eden smiled and he said:
"I will if you call me Clan Leader Qin."
Dorian narrowed his eyes dangerously.
"I won’t call you that, you don’t run your clan Idriss does."
Idriss was his father’s partner and he left him Qin Inc which is the company that makes the microprocessors and the clan until Eden turns 19.
"It’s still my clan as long as you call me Eden I’ll call you Dorian."
Who does he think he is? Eden should be at the top, not Dorian. Everyone depends on his Rissian Blend including Dorian for his hovercars and spaceships. Dorian smiled maliciously, looks like he needs to teach Eden a lesson.
Eden rolled his eyes and left. Dorian held his wrist and Eden looked at him. Their face was very close and they breathe intermingling. Eden looked into his cold blue eyes and he said with a smile.
"You have beautiful eyes."
Dorian was a little taken aback by that compliment. He could tell that Eden was sincere because of his obsessed eyes and he’s evidently the type of person who says what he thinks.
He scanned him for the first time. The youth had dark hair and green peach blossom eyes. He had thin eyebrows and an aquiline nose with high cheekbones. His skin was fair and glowy. His full lips were red as blood and incredibly eye-catching.
Even if he hates everything about him he must admit that he is beautiful and adorable. Usually, people never dare to look in his eyes because of the coldness in them so it felt weird to meet someone who does and likes it. Even Ryker the person he is closest to can’t look into them for too long.
Eden said:
"Let go of my wrist unless you want to lose your hand."
Everyone held their breath. Does Eden have a death wish? Idriss who was at the other side of the ballroom ran to them and he was about to say something when Ryker did.
"Please don’t pay attention to what he says clan leader Chen Eden is just excited now that he is engaged."
Dorian looked at Ryker and he said with a smile:
"I’ll let it go for you."
Riker smiled brightly his heart beating faster. Eden looked at them disgusted and he violently pulled his wrist back. He grabbed the pocket square on Dorian and he wiped his wrist with disgust. When he was done he tossed it on the floor and left holding Idriss’ hand.
Dorian looked at him leave with a vicious smile. Ryker immediately bent down picking up the pocket square and after wiping it he handed it back to Dorian. Dorian met his eyes with a smile and said:
"It’s fine you can toss it in the trash."
Ryker took a step forward and he whispered looking down:
"I’m so sorry. I..."
He took another step and forced himself to look into his eyes.
"Everything I’m doing is to have a future with the person I love."
He knows that as a Zhu he is not good enough for Dorian. Plus his father won’t retire for years, even so, Zhu security is a joke compared to Qin Empire or Chen Tech. He wants him and Dorian to be on equal footing and be there for each other. To do that he needs Eden’s company and to have it he needs to marry him. Once he has it he’ll kill him and be with the person he always loved. Dorian absentmindedly nodded. He doesn’t care what Ryker does, to him it’s all about business. He won’t interfere between him and Eden. Eden is clearly a fool since he can’t see that the Zhus are after Qin Empire.
He’s done many terrible things but he would never sink so low as to pretend to love and marry someone to take everything he owns. The only way he would marry is if he loved someone but that’ll never happen. After everything he’s been through the only person, he could be close to was Ryker and it’s only because they’ve known each other since they were kids and that accident. Still, he doesn’t feel the need to open up and he never will. He can tell that he is in love with him, he always made it clear that he’s not ready to settle or be close to anyone in any way.
He said that he’ll wait for him as long as he has to. If he was to settle Ryker would be the most likely person he would end up with. He is the closest person to him. He looked toward where Eden left. He plans on teaching that baby a lesson, from the way he acts he’s been treated as one his entire short life. Don’t worry baby when I’m done with you you’ll understand where you stand.
Eden walked the castle’s beautiful garden with Idriss in silence. He stopped in place and turned around. His two bodyguards stopped too. Eden ordered:
"Give me space."
One of the bodyguards said:
"Ryker told us to always keep you safe."
Eden took a step forward and he threatened:
"I don’t give a damn what Ryker said he isn’t your boss or mine. Don’t forget who you work for ever again."
The men immediately bowed.
"Yes, clan leader Qin."
Eden took another step forward and took his blaster and he ordered:
"Go get a new gun."
The men nodded and they gave Eden and Idris’s space. Eden tucked the gun away and he turned around looking at Idriss. Is this universe its survival of the fittest and he doesn’t plan on only surviving but thriving. Idriss smiled at Eden and they started to walk again.
He asked:
"What’s up?"
"I’ll be taking the reign of Qin Empire from now on. I want to know everything single thing going on in my empire."
Idriss looked at Eden pleasantly surprised. He’s been wanting him to rule the Empire and to realize Ryker’s nefarious intention but he kept saying how he loves him and that he has his back.
Still, even if he wants to take the reign of the Qin Empire it doesn’t mean that he is aware that Ryker is using him. He asked tentatively:
"Are you going to reign over the Empire with Ryker?"
Eden burst out laughing.
"When I’m done with him, his family, and company the only thing left will be ashes."
Idriss looked at Eden’s vicious smile extremely pleased. Finally, he woke up and saw that the entire Zhu family are snakes.
"He plans on marrying me than taking my Empire. Then I shall do the same minus the marriage."
Idriss looked at Eden attentively. He felt like he was looking at a different person, even his aura was different. He seemed to be experienced and ruthless. Gone was the naive and spoiled kid he remembered. It felt like they were two different people. He asked:
"What can I do to help?"
"The same as you have been doing. I’ll start by taking care of Qin Lab and getting rid of those ridiculous contracts with Dorian and Arman."
Because Ryker is in charge of Qin Lab he drafted the contract with Dorian’s company and his father’s. They don’t pay nearly as much as they should pay him and Eden is done with that bullshit. This is business, not charity.
They need Eden more than he needs them, even without his contract with Chen Tech and Zhu security he would still be the richest man on Cethra 7. Now he plans on dethroning Dorian as the most powerful man. Idriss smiled.
"Good."
Eden stopped and he met his eyes.
"Thank you for taking care of the clan and Qin Inc. Thank you for being loyal and always having faith in me it means a lot."
Idriss smiled and he pulled Eden in his arms. Eden hugged him back with a smile.
Despite Idriss’ young age, he is like an old soul. He’s always seen Eden as his little brother and has done everything to make him see reason but he was so blindly in love with Ryker that he fell into his trap. Idriss tried everything to find proof of the Zhus culpability when Eden died but couldn’t and when they were sick of him digging up dirt they killed him. He is another person who died because he had his back. Two people died for him and Eden will make sure it doesn’t happen again. Just like they have his back he’ll have theirs.
Eden and Idriss walked back inside after talking for a while and Eden directly went to Sirius. He immediately smiled at him.
"Hey, Eden congratulations."
Eden smiled.
"Thank you."
He hugged Sirius and he hugged him back.
Ryker looked at Eden hugging him then at the engagement ring with a frown. Does Eden have feelings for Sirius? No that’s not possible even yesterday he was giving him hints about getting married. He must be upset about something. It’s fine tonight he’ll speak to him and after a few hugs, he’ll be back to his old self.
Eden walked the large castle halls to his room. He took a seat on the bed waiting for his fiance. Ryker entered his bedroom and saw that Eden had been waiting for him. He closed the door and he smiled at him. He walked toward him but he abruptly stopped when he heard Eden’s words.
"All your stuff has been transferred to the room on the first floor. Go sleep there."
"What are you talking about?"
Eden finally met his eyes and said expressionlessly:
"I want us to remain abstinent until we marry."
What infuriates Eden the most in this whole thing is that Ryker would always have sex with him despite being in love with Dorian. He’s attracted to Eden he just thinks that he is beneath him. We’ll see about that.
Ryker looked at Eden stunned. The only good thing about pretending to love Eden is that he could at least fuck him but now he’s taking that away from him? Ryker took a step forward:
"Even if we don’t have sex we can at least sleep in the same bed."
He knows that once they’re under the covers Eden will fold.
"No I want us to stay each in our room during the hunting season and during the week you’ll sleep at your house. This is non-negotiable."
Ryker looked into Eden’s eyes shocked. Eden cares about nothing but shopping and living abundantly but right now he seemed determined. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
Ryker turned around and left angry. He’s never going to beg someone like Eden to sleep with him. He has more pride than that plus it’s Eden he’s not worth it. No matter how spoiled he is he knows that soon he’ll come to his room begging him to hold him in his arms. Ryker smiled.
Eden looked at the painting on his right with a smile and left to take a shower. When he was done he went to bed. He instinctively woke up when he heard a sound. He used Versem and saw someone coming out of a secret door where the painting used to be. The intruder locked his room and walked to him.
He lifted the cover and after putting both his arms above his head he got on top of him. He caressed Eden’s neck while his arms were firmly stuck in place. Eden opened his eyes and met cold blue eyes. He raised an eyebrow.
"What are you doing Dorian?"
Dorian never looked up from his neck, he kept caressing it like it somehow soothed him.
Eden asked annoyed:
"Are you done eating tofu?"
Dorian looked up with narrowed eyes.
"You’re way too insolent for my taste."
Eden chuckled his eyes lighting up. Dorian is different than his other Gege, and that’s understandable after everything he’s been through. But still, when he sees him he just wants to make him pay for marrying Ryker. He doesn’t care that he knew that Ryker was using him since he would have done the same. He was a businessman in his last life so he gets it.
Dorian looked at his beautiful face in a trance. He’s truly one of the loveliest people he ever laid eyes on. He came here to teach him a lesson and to make sure he knows his place but he feels like a sailor lured to his destruction by Eden’s sweetness. Eden’s eyes softened when he saw Dorian’s face. He feels frustrated, it’s hard to go against your instinct but since he laid eyes on Dorian he feels like he has to turn it down or at least behave differently than he usually does with Gege.
He can feel how hurt and broken he is in this universe and it infuriates him. He wishes he would have come sooner to make sure that all the terrible things that happened to him wouldn’t. Dorian blinked not knowing what to do or say. The second he saw Eden’s smile it was game over. He doesn’t understand why though.
Using his confusion Eden freed his hands and changes their position. He was now on top of Dorian holding both his wrist at his sides. Dorian woke up from his stupor and tried to get free but couldn’t. He looked at Eden stunned. He is bigger and stronger than Eden how could he get the upper hand on him? Eden smiled and he asked:
"Why did you sneak into my room?"
Dorian thought, he can’t tell him he came to threaten him that would be humiliating.
He looked into Eden’s arrogant eyes and he said:
"I came to fuck you."
He smiled waiting for his face to fall but it never did, he wasn’t the least bit phased. Eden looked at him with lustful eyes and he licked his lips. He leaned in close and he whispered seductively:
"Then what are you waiting for?"
Dorian felt parched. Eden isn’t a siren he is a vixen. He froze not knowing what to do. He was just trying to get the upper hand again he didn’t think Eden would answer that. Why does it seem like Eden is the one who’s taken him by surprise?
Because he does, he wants to fuck him and do a lot more dirty things to him. He hasn’t been interested in anyone in any way since that day but he is in Eden. Not just physically he feels curious about him. It’s bad, right? Not because he is engaged to Ryker he doesn’t care about that but because Eden isn’t trustworthy. He doesn’t get into fake relationships or play games.
He can see now that he was wrong about Eden, he knows what he’s doing. He can feel that this manipulator is the real him, not the spoiled brat everyone thinks he is. He ordered:
"Let me go."
Eden looked at him for a few seconds then he did. Dorian stood up and left through the secret door again. Eden looked at it close feeling complicated.
