Chapter 145: Chapter 145

Nathan’s POV

"STOP IT!" I angrily pushed Sophia away when she tried to kiss me. I glanced at my phone and cursed as Kyra continued to refuse to answer my calls.

"Fuck!" I shouted and threw my phone onto the bed.

Sophia stood before me almost naked, with only a white towel wrapped around her body, desperately trying to seduce me.

"You can’t just do this to me, Nathan! I left and gave you time to think, but that doesn’t mean you’re going back to her. She’s someone else’s leftover—"

"Stop talking about her like that, Sophia! You’re insulting the woman I love!"

She gasped, her eyes widening. "No! I am the one you love, Nathan. Not that bitch! I was your first love and I will be your last! I’m your fated mate, the Moon Goddess chose me for you!"

"Yes," I admitted. "I accepted the Moon Goddess’s arrangement and fell madly in love with you. But you rejected me and cheated, didn’t you?"

Her face turned pale. "But when I came back, you accepted me again. Our mate bond was deteriorating, but it was still there, wasn’t it?"

I slowly shook my head, glaring at her. "You’re crazy."

"Yes! I’m crazy! So crazy for you, Nathan. And you made me like this!"

"Don’t blame me for what you’ve become! That was your choice, Sophia."

"My choice?" she scoffed. "You said you loved me and I gave up everything for you! You said you loved me but you cheated on me—"

"You were the one who cheated, Sophia!" I growled. "You ruined us first, so you don’t have the right to do this!"

"You came back to me, Nathan!" she said, tears rolling down her cheeks. "You forgave me and accepted me again, but... but you just hurt me in the end."

"I already apologized, Sophia. I want to make things right, so I let you go."

"And now you’re chasing your ex-wife!" she shouted angrily. "You never chased me like that, Nathan! I was always the one running back to you!"

I pushed her away firmly. "I fell in love with Kyra. When she left me, I realized that your so-called true mate bond meant nothing to me anymore. I love Kyra as a person—her gentleness, her resilience, everything about her! Without any destiny’s bonus, I love her for who she is."

I swallowed hard and looked directly into her eyes. "Maybe my love for you was shallow. I’m sorry..."

"No! No..." She cupped my cheeks and tried to kiss me again.

"Sophia, stop it! I said stop!"

"No!" she shook her head desperately and unwrapped the towel around her body, showing me her nakedness.

I clenched my jaw. "Get dressed, Sophia. Don’t do this to yourself—"

"I will do this for you! I’m doing this for myself, Nathan! Love me again. I know you still care for me. I know you can still love me."

"That’s impossible now, Sophia. I’m in love with Kyra—"

"YOU’RE NOT!" she screamed and threw herself at me. We both landed on the bed, with her on top of me. She hugged my neck and tried to kiss my lips again but it landed on my cheek. I held her waist and grabbed the blanket before covering her body with it. I flipped our positions and pinned her on the bed.

Her tears rolled down her cheeks as she looked at me, her eyes full of sorrow, hatred, and pain.

"Y-You can still love me..."

I clenched my jaw and shook my head. "You came here and purposely spilled your coffee on your dress. I didn’t shoo you away and helped you. Now, I’m asking you to leave because the woman I love misunderstood what you did."

"I don’t believe you! You’re just trying to avoid responsibility!" she screamed. "You’re just a player who gets with one woman and then falls for another. If you truly loved her that much, why did you help me time after time when I came back? Wasn’t that giving me hope?"

I stood up from the bed, suddenly realizing my mistake. Because I loved my mother and sister, I had always respected women and offered help when needed. This gentlemanly behavior had given Sophia false hope. She’s purposely ruining things between Kyra and me, and I can’t accept it. I’m trying so hard to fix my relationship with Kyra and I won’t let anyone ruin it.

I gritted my teeth. "I will be the one to choose the woman I want to be with for the rest of my life, and I want to be with Kyra, Sophia. She’s the only woman I can see in my future. She’s the only one I can see myself with as I’m dying on my deathbed. Sophia, it’s not easy for me either. But I don’t want to lie to myself. I want to be happy, and Kyra is the woman who can give me that happiness. I’m sorry, but you have to forget about me. Find another man who will love you the way you deserve, because I don’t deserve your love. I will only ruin you." freewēbnoveℓ.com

"It doesn’t matter. My life is already rotten. I can’t live without you."

She reached for me again, trying to remove my shirt, but I pushed her away firmly. I threw my suit jacket at her to cover herself.

"You’re being so gentle with me now. Doesn’t that mean you still care about me?"

"That was my mistake," I said coldly. "But if that’s how you see it."

"Now, get out of my room and don’t come back," I said in my Alpha tone.

Sophia lowered her head in submission. She was responding to the Alpha command, her body trembling as she fought against the power of my words. Her face twisted with rage and pain as she wrapped herself in my jacket.

"You will regret this, Nathan," she hissed, tears streaming down her face as she backed toward the door. "I will make sure you’ll regret this. I will not let you and Kyra end up together. If I have to sell my soul to the devil, I willingly will. You’re not going to be happy with her. If you won’t end up with me... you won’t end up with anyone else."
