Lili laughed mockingly. "You both look to be eighteen or nineteen, but you’re so childish. I’m afraid after one night, you wouldn’t be a match for this lady. I’d drain you dry and leave you for dead."
Yu Lan taunted them as well. "You morons, haven’t you heard the saying? ’The ox may be worked to death, but the field is never plowed enough.’"
Xuelian produced a Wolf Fang Club from her pocket and aimed it menacingly at the two students. "Believe it or not," she said, her voice cold, "before you even get close, I can cripple you both with a single swing of this club."
Hearing themselves mocked, taunted, and insulted, the two students became apoplectic, panting with rage.
The one in the lead bellowed, "I’m going to kill you with this cleaver! That’ll teach you to mock my manhood!"
The one behind him added, "That’s right, big brother! Let’s chop them into mince meat and send them to the Western Heaven!"
But before they could finish their threats, the assistant hurled the cobblestone in his hand straight at the leader’s head. In the blink of an eye, the stone struck the student square in the face. Before he could even react, he was knocked flat on his back. He rolled on the ground, wailing in agony and searching for his lost teeth.
When the second student saw his leader taken down by a mere cobblestone, he protested indignantly, "Fight me without using cheap tricks if you have the guts!"
Before he could finish his sentence, the assistant took out the two cans of pepper spray and unleashed a stream directly into the student’s eyes. The student collapsed to the ground, clutching his face in unbearable pain. "You’re cheating!" he shrieked. "You’re really cheating! You won’t face me with a proper weapon, you—"
The assistant laughed. "Didn’t you just tell me not to use a cobblestone? So I used pepper spray instead. How is that cheating?"
Hearing this, the student on the ground was speechless, forced to accept his miserable luck.
When the three women behind the assistant saw how he had used a cobblestone and pepper spray to so cleverly defeat two strong enemies, they burst into applause.
"Assistant, I always thought you were all bark and no bite," one of them praised, "but I never expected you had some real skill!"
Lili added, "A man should be just like that! Your moves were like the wind, your punches like a tidal wave. You have no idea how awesome you looked just now!"
Yu Lan also chimed in with encouragement. "Assistant, even though we three used to make fun of you, your performance today was truly impressive. You get a thumbs-up from us! We should pin a little red flower on your chest. Keep it up!"
To reward him, Xuelian pulled out two packs of spicy snacks from her pocket. "Assistant, these are for you. Don’t be shy, just eat them. If that’s not enough, I have more."
