Chapter 2286: Chapter 2287: Ning Zihan Returns (Part 7)

Su Changyi said nothing.

Instead, An Jing chuckled and said, "Your dad is pretending to be drunk; your second uncle is really drunk. It’s all your dad’s fault for not helping your second uncle with the drinks."

An Baobei laughed and said, "Dad pretending to be drunk is probably to avoid letting Mom get too tired taking care of Mo Mo and Xin Xin alone tonight. This way, Dad can help out, and Mom can be a little less exhausted."

An Jing immediately looked very happy.

After chatting for a bit more with An Jing and Su Changyi, An Baobei planned to go back to her room to rest.

As she passed by Ning Zihan’s room again, she found Ning Zihan still drunkenly leaning against the door, occasionally trying to open it with his bank card but unable to.

An Baobei actually didn’t want to deal with Ning Zihan. Every time she saw Ning Zihan, she didn’t even speak to him, acting as if he didn’t exist. But now, she couldn’t stand it anymore.

At this rate, the door might never open.

Seeing half of a room card sticking out of his suit pocket, she immediately walked over, took the card from his pocket, swiped it on the sensor, and the door opened just like that. As a result, Ning Zihan, who had been leaning on the door, fell into the room, his knees and below still outside.

As Ning Zihan lay on the floor, he only groaned in pain at first, but then found comfort on the flat ground and just fell asleep there.

An Baobei: "..."

An Baobei just stood silent for a moment and then kicked the person on the ground: "Hey, Ning Zihan, go sleep in the room. What are you doing like this?"

Ning Zihan was completely out, not responding at all.

An Baobei was too lazy to bother with Ning Zihan, turned around, and planned to return to her room. But after taking just two steps, she turned back, grabbed Ning Zihan’s suit jacket, and dragged him further into the room so that even his knees would be inside.

Fortunately, she was strong enough, dragging Ning Zihan was not difficult.

Seeing that he was far enough for the door to close, An Baobei didn’t drag him further.

"If it weren’t for you embarrassing my second aunt and uncle like that, I wouldn’t have bothered dragging you!"

An Baobei grumbled at the still-lying Ning Zihan before turning to leave.

But as soon as she took a step, her right foot was grabbed.

An Baobei looked down to see Ning Zihan clinging to her right foot, his eyes closed tight, muttering, "I’m sorry... I’m sorry... I’m sorry..."

"What did you say?" An Baobei couldn’t hear clearly, so she bent down.

Suddenly, Ning Zihan raised his head, eyes wide open and piercing as though they were burning through An Baobei.

Startled, An Baobei almost kicked Ning Zihan away but then heard him ask, "Are you An Baobei?"

"Who else would I be? Let go of me! Or I’ll kick you!" An Baobei threatened.

Ning Zihan’s sharp gaze gradually softened, his stern face slowly showing regret and sadness. This time, his speech was clear: "I’m sorry, I just wanted to avoid entanglements with women, I never wanted you to leave that family, nor did I want your mom to have a premature birth..."

An Baobei was genuinely surprised: "You actually apologized?!"

Ning Zihan didn’t care about what An Baobei was saying anymore. He just kept holding An Baobei’s right foot, his head lowering again to the ground, murmuring continuous apologies: "I’m sorry... I’m sorry... I’m sorry..."

But his voice became quieter and more indistinct, making it hard to understand what he was saying.
