Chapter 29: 29: To Survive

The atmosphere had grown dimmer. Probably because of the lack of sunlight and ventilation around. Trees and bushes had covered almost everywhere, making it almost impossible to see.

Ayra panicked as she stared at the spooky looking cave before them. It looked ancient, like one that had existed for ages. "Are we really going in there?"

"I didn’t come here to play with you, did I?" He asked as he made his way in. Ayra panicked and followed behind.

The entrance was chilly and almost slimy. Ayra felt irritated just walking past it. She didn’t take her beauty bath just to walk through this.

They were in and it looked just like any other cave. Except that it was covered in leaves and slimy substance. Ayra didn’t even want to know what that was.

Lord Vale ran his fingers through the rocks of the cave. "They’re alive..." He could feel them. He looked around for more clues while Ayra followed behind.

And just then, the system notification appeared before her, distracting her for a while.

[Ding!]

[Sub Task Available]

[Host, Save the captured Beastmen]

[Reward: Hair Gel and Face Cream x5 plus improved stats!]

Ayra was speechless. "Save what? How the hell was she possibly supposed to do that?! She wasn’t any warrior." She was ready to beef with the system but the system casually said:

[Tip: It can’t see, hears sounds, and fears fire]

"..."

"What the fuck is that supposed to mean? That’s not what I want..."

Ayra was about to continue when she looked and didn’t see Vale anymore. She paused, shocked. Ayra slowly looked around but there was no sign of Vale anywhere.

"Where the fuck did he go to...?" She panicked. "Don’t tell me he abandoned me?!"

Ayra heard some weird sounds from a distance as panic ate up into her veins. She stiffened as she looked around, panicking. Did she lose Vale or did he actually abandon her here?! Was this part of his damn plan?

"That asshole..." She cursed as she stepped backwards. But she stepped on a rock, its sound echoing through the cave as she heard movement. Weird movement. Ayra knew she was dead meat now.

She heard hissing sounds and then...

"Tell me the whole truth and maybe I’ll consider saving you."

She heard Vale speak as she looked around. "That bastard.." she muttered. She couldn’t believe that this was his plan!

He was trying to scare her into revealing whatever she was hiding?! "You jerk! Hey! Are you nuts?!"

"The audacity to speak to a Lord like that? Do you have some death wish or something?"

"Death wish my foot!" She snapped. Then came the sounds—something was approaching fast and she could feel the goosebumps. frёewebnoѵēl.com

"Just tell me who you are and who sent you. Everything and you’ll be safe. If not, you’ll be the monster’s next meal. I’m sure it’s craving some female," came Vale’s voice.

Ayra panicked. "You’re the monster, you.. how many times will I tell you that there’s nothing..."

Immediately she heard it and she saw it. The monster creeping out of its hole. She gasped. "Sweet heavens, what the fuck is that..."

It was a huge spider. Very huge. It had over a hundred furry legs or something—Ayra didn’t bother counting, it was disturbing. This spider had slimy stuff around its body. Its eyes were red and glowing as it moved towards her direction.

"What the fuck..." She muttered as she stepped backwards.

"Speak now," Vale demanded from where he hid. All he wanted was her response. He didn’t care about killing her, not that he couldn’t. Ayra knew these wild beasts could kill without a second thought! frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

"I said there’s nothing.." she said, stepping backwards in fear. "So get your ass down and stop this beast!"

"I’ll consider when I hear the truth from you."

Ayra scoffed. She guessed this was his plan. Now she regretted taking this dumb task! She hadn’t even increased his affection level and now she was about meeting her ancestors or whatever.

But then, it struck her.

[Tip: It can’t see, hears sounds, and fears fire]

Ayra recalled the system’s words and she gasped. "That’s what it means... This big guy can’t see..."

The spider was now approaching closer. Its weight filling the whole air as its breath swept through the space. Ayra looked around and slowly picked up a rock.

She threw it at a distance and immediately the spider turned and slowly began heading in that direction. She smiled. "That worked... Enough time to run."

She smiled, about to turn and escape.

[Ding!!!]

[Task reminder: Save the trapped beastmen]

[Host can’t abandon a task halfway unless host faces terrible punishment of death!]

Ayra scoffed. She hadn’t even saved her own ass, how the hell was she supposed to save some grown ass men?

"Stupid system," she muttered as she looked around. "Now where the hell..." She searched around for where those grown ass men could be.

The system left a red mark at a spot above. And Ayra stared closely, she could see it. A huge ball-like substance covered in cobwebs dangling from above.

Immediately, Ayra looked around for something sharp. When she found one, she picked it and threw it at the cobweb above. The first didn’t hit, but the second hit the hook and immediately it broke and fell.

The cobweb broke and immediately about ten men fell out of it. Different beastmen covered in slimy stuff. And as they fell out, they all opened their eyes while letting out a sharp deep breath as though they’d been holding in their breaths for ages.

They were free now and looking around, the only person they saw was a female.

"..." A female had saved them?!

They stared at Ayra in pure shock and confusion as though they were staring at a strange art in a museum.

Ayra stared at them for a while before the sound from the spider grabbed their attention. Now all of them turned to watch the spider turning to their direction.

The loud sound made from saving these beastmen had ultimately caught its attention now.
